5:2 :- 2 years on .. Backsliders and Rescinders: Recommit with me..

Laska42 · 21/07/2014 18:14

Hi there, Im one of the 'old original' 5:2ers who started way back in August 2012 and lost 24lbs..

I maintained for over a year and was active on the Maintainers thread , but sadly since last summer/Autumn, ive backslid.. Now I'm 12lbs up off my lowest weight again Sad

I know what to do , I know it works , but I can hardly say I should be on the 'maintainers' again. So im posting a new thread here , in the hope that I may find some other backsliders willing to recommit along with me before it's too late ..

Come and join me again before its too late.. We can regroup and get back on track.. I'm still managing to squeeze into my sz 10s (mostly) but I cant afford a new wardrobe, I dont want to buy a larger one.. and I certainly do want to get back to what I was (and maybe finish the job properly with another half stone off , so I can rejoin the Maintainers and comfortably say that this WOE is really this time going to stay with me for life..

So anyone with me? .. I have fasted today (first one for ages) .. WE CAN DO IT AGAIN!!

Hello and welcome kinky

Well done not2b on weight loss, that's fab!!
Yes Just in healthy BMI but Hope I don't lose soo slowly this last stone or I'm sure I'd give up first!

Laska I know how you feel! just need to get a couple of good fasts in to get back in that 'control headspace'. Your not alone... We are all here for that very reason, thanks to you!
The good news is to lose weight nutrition is 80% of the effort, exercise is only 20% so don't beat yourself up.... You can do it, we can all do it together this week!

Not2bObvious · 24/08/2014 20:08

Thanks Choc but after this weekend I reckon I've probably undone my good work - my god what a binge and what's scarier I'm sure it was fairly good behaviour in comparison to pre-recommital to 5:2, no 16:8's this weekend that's for sure! Anyway next weekend will be better for sure, and it's an FD tomorrow, popcorn for lunch, bolognese with salad for dinner should see me around 500. Got 2 decent runs in over the weekend so that was something. Walks planned for next week, and good FD/nfd behaviour, going to aim for a mini fast as well to try make up for the 1500 extra cals inhaled over the weekend... who's up for a fast tomorrow?

Dotty342kids · 26/08/2014 11:06

Morning all! Apologies for my complete absence last week - just busy, busy, busy.
Did 2 FDs but did have evening nibbles on them both which was less than ideal.
Have eaten way too much over the weekend with DH intent on us either going out for meals or cooking delicious puddings at home. However, he's gone back to work and it's a FD today so hoping to pull it back in line.
Going to reacquaint myself with MFP today, after a far too long absence, as I know I'm overeating on NFDs and need something to keep them on track.

Laska I really hope you can find that motivation and keep at it Smile, we're all here rooting for you!
And well done to not2Bobvious too, great loss!

kinkymouse · 27/08/2014 08:23

Well done everyone so far. I'm trying not to be too disappointed but just got weighed and 2lb on. I'm going to keep going as I know 5:2 worked last time but I don't know what I ate to add 2 bloody pounds.

It has to be NFD as I'm so careful on FDs. Oh well.

Dotty342kids · 27/08/2014 08:46

is it TOTM kinkymouse? That always puts an extra lb or two on me....
Fasted successfully ish yesterday in that managed to go through till visitors arrived at 4pm and then scoffed about five Jaffa cakes! But dinner was only 400ish cals so don't think too much damage caused. Plus I did a 1.25hrs dancefit / toning class which I'm sure compensated for the Jaffa cakes Smile
Normal day today but going to try to be sensible and not over eat. Might head over to MFP to get back into the habit of logging my NFD food actually

Not2bObvious · 27/08/2014 09:21

kinky very very hard to actually gain 2 pound over a few days, either it's weight gain catching up on you or more likely undigested food/water/waste. Yes you do need to watch what you eat on nfds but honestly did you really eat an extra 7000 cals on top of your normal daily allowance of maybe 1600 cals? Best thing to do is weight officially once a week (I weighed yesterday and I was a pound up after the weekend, that's totally normal, as is 2 pound) and if you don't already know it, calculate your tdee for your goal weight. Stick to that on nfds, allowing 20% extra for weekend. My tdee for 9.13 is 1610 cals and since my fitbit only shows me burning around 1750 on a non active day (last WI I was 11.9.6) I reckon that's good enough. Put it behind you and weigh in Friday, I'd bet the 2 pound will be gone. Since you're healthy bmi, it's very likely to be slow loss but if you do all the right things, you'd have to drop 1-2 over a month, which at your height will show. Chin up chickyWink
Nice to have you back Dotty - even with evening nibbles your cals will still be down. My dh loves food too so I find the weekends hard, I don't need to go on much to tempt him to sin, gosh that sounds decadent! With food I mean.
Off work today, just had a carby breakfast of pancakes/toast and pb, off on an activity day and then back home for lunch. On my 4th week of no drinking before Friday so made the choice to eat at home cause if we went to a restaurant and dh was driving, I'd be too tempted to have a glass! This way I control the situation, and the cals & cost are wayyy lower. Anyone joining me in a Thursday fast? Going to have to prep something better than popcorn for lunch, might do a omelette with 1 full egg & 2 extra whites, works very well reheated (with lf cheese triangle/ham/spring onion inside, yum) Chat later x

kinkymouse · 27/08/2014 09:37

Thanks not2be and dotty last week was TOTM so could be the tail end of that. And I'm sure you danced off your jaffas an hour and half is very impressive.

I have been quite aware of what I've ate although had a few wines at the weekend but no, I doubt 7000 calories worth. I probably haven't drank enough water so I'm going to step that up this week. Next FD is Thursday so I will weigh in Friday morning and hope for a drop.

Dotty342kids · 27/08/2014 11:54

not2 good plan re. resisting the lure of vino! I'll be Thursday fasting with you Smile
Agree, drink lots of water, all through the day and especially before dinner to help you feel full.

Chocupid · 27/08/2014 11:54

Hi all, posted earlier but it dissapeared....

I'm here to check in for a bump in motivation pls!

I have done nothing but eat since last Thursday!!!
Was a bit fed up with staying the same after being nearly angelic with food and gym last week. (Know how you feel kinky I'm expecting the same this week!) Angry

Will be good today and Fast tomorow to try and pull things back for a scary Friday weigh in TOTM here too tut!

Glad I checked in Now danced of your Jaffas made me giggle Grin

Dotty342kids · 27/08/2014 12:40

C'mon Chocupid you need to get in a good fast day and feel much better about yourself, to motivate you to keep going Smile
Sounds like a few of us are fasting tomorrow so suggest whenever we're tempted to venture near the kitchen we check in here instead!
(Glad we made you giggle with the Jaffas!)

Chocupid · 27/08/2014 14:11

Thanks Dotty I know a FD is all it takes.

Haven't eaten today yet busy and not hungry so may try for a FD today, but will be with you all fasting tomorow.
Have a good day all.

PiesnThighs · 27/08/2014 20:14

Hello all, sadly I don't have a great loss to report either.... Following on from my 3 FDs last week..... I gained 2lbs. Probs TOTM related, and also due to overeating on NFDs....

I'm with you all on a FD tomorrow, got to back on track Blush! Good luck!

Chocupid · 28/08/2014 09:13

Bloody TOTM I felt so bloated yesterday, was busy and not hungry so
I managed an unplanned successful FD yesterday...
the result is I feel strong and in control today and not hungry at all, so I'm doing another today with you all to get my 2 in before tomorrow's scary weigh in.

Let's get this done Pies Dotty not2b kinky Don your tight clothes, remember we can have it tomorrow along with this great felling of control.

Anyone else in today? Laska?

Chocupid · 28/08/2014 09:49

Just a thought, Laska was reading some of your posts on the tips and links thread and you were so in the zone! it may help if you go back and re read them! it would if it was me!
Off to read inspiration thread now, I want to be at goal for Christmas! (Sorry about the C word so early) Blush

Good luck all.

Dotty342kids · 28/08/2014 10:52

ooh, get you and all your motivation chocupid Grin
I'm hungry but today will be busy so hoping I can power on through till DH gets in at approx. 7.30 tonight for dinner. When he's here I won't be able to sneak into the kitchen for any more nibbles so that should help!

Not2bObvious · 28/08/2014 14:41

Hanging on in here - all going well, tight jeans on, bright lippy on, hair done, got my game face on Wink
Am at about 250 cals so not a lot left to play with but I'm leaning more towards 600 these days than 500. Tmi alert but very bungedBlush so not especially hopeful for any great loss but that's the way it goes sometimes. Can wait for my nfd! Best of luck all!

Dotty342kids · 28/08/2014 14:48

Dinner tonight is 320 cals so have just cracked and had a custard cream. Going out, and away from temptation of the biscuit tin, now Smile

Chocupid · 28/08/2014 15:46

Me too, felt dizzy so had an emergency 5 peanut M&M's oops!

Hairy dieters chicken fill pie for dinner and I can't wait, I'm starving now...
But having nails done hands and feet so will be unable to eat for a good 2hrs, this may save me.

Let's stick with it and get this evening done!
Good luck.

Dotty342kids · 28/08/2014 15:47

is that book good chocupid? We've got another of their recent books and love everything in it so thinking about getting the "dieters" one...

Not2bObvious · 28/08/2014 17:58

Emergency m&m's, I love it!! I can't have those peanut ones near me, they turn me into an animal.
Nearly there ladiesGrin
Dotty I have the hairy bikers book, not sure if it's the second one? Anyway I've made a couple of things, fish with a chorizo & Parmesan crust, lovely, and a meatloaf - really good. There is some good stuff and there's a good amount of fillers but if you get it at the right price, it's worth a look. chocupid be interested to hear what else you've tried from it and how you rate it?
Really looking forward to Friday wine now

Laska42 · 28/08/2014 18:31

Dotty I have both hairy dieters & hairy dieters for life books, and love em...

Chicken & ham fill pie 429
Harissa chicken 270
Easy crispy chicken 299
Salmon in chilli ginger sauce 254
