Hi there, Im one of the 'old original' 5:2ers who started way back in August 2012 and lost 24lbs..

I maintained for over a year and was active on the Maintainers thread , but sadly since last summer/Autumn, ive backslid.. Now I'm 12lbs up off my lowest weight again Sad

I know what to do , I know it works , but I can hardly say I should be on the 'maintainers' again. So im posting a new thread here , in the hope that I may find some other backsliders willing to recommit along with me before it's too late ..

Come and join me again before its too late.. We can regroup and get back on track.. I'm still managing to squeeze into my sz 10s (mostly) but I cant afford a new wardrobe, I dont want to buy a larger one.. and I certainly do want to get back to what I was (and maybe finish the job properly with another half stone off , so I can rejoin the Maintainers and comfortably say that this WOE is really this time going to stay with me for life..

So anyone with me? .. I have fasted today (first one for ages) .. WE CAN DO IT AGAIN!!

ooh, there's lots of recipes I like the sound of there chocupid! And I like soups so might have to get it....
Well done Laska, no movement at all on the scales for me. OFf to Snowdonia this weekend so will walk my legs off and eat a ton of carbs. When kids go back to school next Weds and tempting snacks are removed, I will be well and truly back on it Smile

Not2bObvious · 29/08/2014 10:16

Morning all. As suspected my winning steak of weight loss has halted a tad, down .2 of a pound but still no..ahem..movement before I weighed in. Won't weigh in again until Tuesday after Mondays fast, or at least I'll try not to Grin
Going to treat myself to some nice wine tonight with a thai curry. Tdee + 20% here I come Wink
Great to hear the weight gain was just a blip Laska, sorry to hear work sucks though. Hoping it turns around soon. Best of luck all over the weekend, peeing rain here so that stymies my quick run I was planning when I finish work, ahh well never mind - bit of housework will get the blood flowing, god knows it's needed!

Chocupid · 29/08/2014 12:43

9.10 here this morning, so 2lb off, at last!
Now to keep it off!!

Well done all, and yes next week will be easier with kids back and everyone back in a routine I'm sure.

Have a nice weekend everyone, see you all here again for FD Monday.

Chocupid · 29/08/2014 12:46

Sorry just realised it's only 1lb... But on track I suppose!

Not2bObvious · 29/08/2014 17:12

Well done chocupid, edging away from the 10 stone nicely.
Dinner made, wine chilling - roll on wine o'clock!

PiesnThighs · 31/08/2014 08:31

Hello all, not getting a chance to post on here very much at the minute, but thought I'd post a wee update - have lost 2lbs! Had 2 proper fast days last week and it seems like it's starting to pay off (this was despite my scales going the wrong way in the middle of last week!).

So, perseverance is the name of the game, as ever. Going to be really strict with my FDs again this Monday and Wednesday. Onwards and downwards!

Hope you all have a good week too ??

buffersandbumpers · 31/08/2014 17:56

Hi all. I've just posted on the main thread and was kindly pointed here. Trying to get back on the 5:2 as weight has slowly crept back on since Christmas.
Trying a fast day today. Actually not consumed any calories yet (water and a diet coke) and feel good for it. Just need to get through the evening and I'm officially back on!

Chocupid · 01/09/2014 14:01

Well done Pies bet you feel great!

Welcome Buffers thought it would help as we're all in the same boat here.
I'm Fasting with you all today... Tight clothes, plenty of water and keep busy, We can do it!
remember how good we'll feel tomorrow Grin

I have a big box of chocs in the fridge, not a good idea on a FD so gonna put them in the freezer out of harms way or they will disappear into my mouth Blush

Who else is fasting with us today?

Not2bObvious · 01/09/2014 16:43

What a weekend, I was a pig! Hitting 3,000 each day and no exercise except a little walking. But back to my fasting today which has been easy as I'm not feeling great (any wonder after my feedfest over the weekend!)
I think I'll have to aim for 2 x fd's plus a mini fast to get back on track.

Not2bObvious · 01/09/2014 16:46

And great work pies!! 2 pound is really good!
choc I could knaw thru ice to get to a box of chocolates, but I'm sure you're a stronger woman than meGrin

Chocupid · 01/09/2014 17:15

Good for you not2b for getting straight back to it!

That's what's soo great about this WOE you can pull it all back with a couple of FD's, where as before I would have wrote off the whole week after a feed fest like that!

And no I have no willpower where Chocolate is concerned either. I can have it tomorow, I can have it tomorow...

Laska42 · 01/09/2014 19:24

Ah the weekend.. what was i thinking of huge making that huge bowl of nachos on saturday night? ah well. pretty good yesterday , though slightly over , but having another FD tomorow...

I have a weekend away coming up , (to newly skinny friend BAH!) , and a curry will be had (idont get much chance in my rural location) .. but otherwise Ii'm planning on mainly good protiens and garden veg all week..

I really dont know whats going on with my boss. Its all hot and cold with her and its a stressful situation all round,(along with potential job cuts) and which has not been a terribly condusive for concentrating on FDs im finding .. , but anyway I wont be seeing her for another month now as she is away ..

My main aim ( curry aside) is to can get a few more lbs off before my week in France end september..

Laska42 · 01/09/2014 19:25

good idea to put chocs inthe freezer ( or give to the dog!!)

Spanglemum · 01/09/2014 20:37

Can I join you? I lost lots last year and now need to lose a stone or 10kg. I got to the point where I was eating tons on NFD and not logging on my fitness pal. And I need to do more exercise. Everything went to pot this year as partners been ill all year. Anyway new starts...,

buffersandbumpers · 01/09/2014 20:44

Done 2 FDs in a row (accident more than design) to kick start me back into it. Feel great - and even did a BodyPump class this evening!

Not2bObvious · 01/09/2014 20:47

Welcome Spangle, sorry to hear you've have a tough time with your partners illness, hopefully things are on an even keel now? You've come to the right place, lots of support to be had here. Just dig in (or not would be better on the food'front Grin)
I just did an mfp calculation and I've overshot by a lot...Blush...I've managed to snaffle1200 cals! I miscalculated what I thought was a healthy lunch and then when I got home, I had toast, very morish food[ sad] Oh calamity! Ahh well, I'll go mini tomorrow/Wednesday and the decent FD on Thursday - and NO white wine this weekend, appears to be my gateway drug

Not2bObvious · 01/09/2014 20:48

Great work Buffers! You're flying Wink

Chocupid · 01/09/2014 21:22

Alas Laska I don't have a dog... And could never GIVE AWAY CHOC's Shock
At least you can get a good few FD's in whilst horrible boss is away, holiday is a good motivator isn't it...
I'm trying to be good as I may or maynot be away end of sept for a weekend in Prague (depends on funds) so trying to stay on track just incase!

buffers your doing soo well! good for you! hope you get a good loss this week to reward your efforts (are you joining us for a Friday weigh in too?)

I too overshot not2b a good 900 cals, lamb shanks needed eating honest!
But I did metafit & Kelttles this morning so I won't beat myself up, may try again tomorow, but now dreaming of toasted bagel, but the kitchen is closed and I've moved upstairs out of the way of temptation Envy

buffersandbumpers · 01/09/2014 21:35

So Fridays are weigh-in days (I like that!)... Yup. Count me in. Only want to lose 2kgs which I think will be quite painful. Means I will do another FD on Thu just in time.

I do keep a daily record of my weight on Weight Diary app which helps. In fact that's why I'm back on this now as I've seen the weight creep back on since Christmas.

Chocupid · 01/09/2014 22:32

Oops sorry, welcome spangle I too am trying to rid myself of about a stone that has crept back on whilst I was stuffing my face wasn't looking

Laska42 · 02/09/2014 19:57

FD was fine until i forgot I was having it!! (oops) . Eggs earlier , but went picking fruit riends house fromfafter work (yummy plums, they have loads of different fruit trees and never bother picking any so they all go to waste Shock) and ate quite a few . Then on the way home , picked up some posh burgers (just the patties) inthe supermarket and wraps as DS over this evening and a bottle of wine

Just had a burger and salad (no wrap) and poured a glass (and drank it ) before I remembered I was fasting! (oops)

OP posts:
Laska42 · 02/09/2014 19:58

I too need to get rid of a stone.. not going to if i keep on like this ..

Anyway have to go make plum sauce now..

OP posts:
Chocupid · 02/09/2014 21:31

Ah Laska sounds idilic picking fruit then making sauce... If only I had the time or inclination.
I find it hard physcologicaly to fast any other day but Monday and Thursday now, unless they happen by accident on a very busy or ill day.

We still have Thursday. Grin

Dotty342kids · 03/09/2014 08:06

Right, here I am, back after a busy few days / weekend away. Weight seems to still be creeping up so am chucking in a mini fast today (just a normal tea) and then a proper FD tomorrow.
Also will be fully MFP'ing to stop those sneaky extra calories on NFDs.
I will be comfortable in my size 12s again Smile

Dotty342kids · 03/09/2014 08:09

Nice to see you both spangle and buffers and well done on getting that loss going again pies
