Hi there, Im one of the 'old original' 5:2ers who started way back in August 2012 and lost 24lbs..

I maintained for over a year and was active on the Maintainers thread , but sadly since last summer/Autumn, ive backslid.. Now I'm 12lbs up off my lowest weight again Sad

I know what to do , I know it works , but I can hardly say I should be on the 'maintainers' again. So im posting a new thread here , in the hope that I may find some other backsliders willing to recommit along with me before it's too late ..

Come and join me again before its too late.. We can regroup and get back on track.. I'm still managing to squeeze into my sz 10s (mostly) but I cant afford a new wardrobe, I dont want to buy a larger one.. and I certainly do want to get back to what I was (and maybe finish the job properly with another half stone off , so I can rejoin the Maintainers and comfortably say that this WOE is really this time going to stay with me for life..

So anyone with me? .. I have fasted today (first one for ages) .. WE CAN DO IT AGAIN!!

Wow That's fab not2b I bet your thrilled!

I went over yesterday finished at 635 cals but still calling it a successful FD.

So weigh in today 9st 11 so 2lb down with 3 successful fasts.

Motivation to keep going.

How did everyone else do?

Well done Dotty, every pound down is going in the right direction. Just back from day out and a bit like a cranky toddler, I should have left well enough alone but decided on way back from day out to go to aldi and then to busy shopping centre, as a result I'm exhausted and have been roaring like a fishwife at the kidsBlush So not their fault (apart from being lazy little madams) but a combo of Totm and subsequent exhaustion has left me narky to say the least! Have retreated to lie down for am hour til
Dh comes home, safer for all! Managed to inhale about 100 cals in chocolate in between tantrums. Oh well, it's an easy nfd so it's fine, will have to apologise to the poor pets soon...but not yet, they might tidy up a bit Wink

I ended up in bed at 8pm after my dinner, couple of drinkies, tortilla crisps and a bar of chocolate! I just about squeezed in under my tdee + 20%. It's amazing how quickly the numbers notch up once you have a tipple in hand - coupled with the fact we ate earlier than normal for a Friday meant there was wayyy to many hours left for damage so around. 8 I decided to take myself off with a book, a bar & a cuppa (can't eat choc in front of kids, not if I want any of it! ) The intention was to get back up but was to tired, what a party animal eh Grin On the big plus side, my early bedtime stopped me doing damage that would have happened cause after inhaling my bar I started to think about the other goodies downstairs...but I followed b&w's tip of waiting 20 minutes, sure I was asleep by then lol!
How not to ruin good work chocupid, I going to get a run in today, there's a 5km on in a couple of hours, I'll do that, then keep it light as possible for the rest of the day to allow for a relaxed evening, probably a couple of g&ts tonight after a glass of wine with dinner, then if I want chocolate, I have to switch to tea- that's a little rule I came up with that helps a lot, I can snaffle a lot of chocolate when I'm drinking wine, and vice versa! Popcorn instead of crisps, I think I'll do ok if I can follow those rules. Anyone else got any tips?

Scratch that, missed the run, kids wouldn't get off me - funny how short their memory is lol - changing it for a walk/shop, be about 5 miles, that's got to help right? Fingers x'ed it doesn't rain!

Hi all, hope your having a fab weekend!
I aim to do some painting today, walls not masterpiece tho Grin
I've been putting it off for ages and may help keep me away from food...

All went to pot Yesterday, bit like you not2b I started well with body pump at the gym, but then my hangover kicked in and I ate carbs and junk all day, which has now set off a bloody migraine and completely ruined my weekend, seriously thinking of giving up alcohol!

I'm ready for a fast today Tbh but not sure if I can do it with a migraine, so will see how it goes, if I'm successful I'll fast tues instead of Mon but if not I'll aim for no junk and just Sunday lunch.
It just feels weird fasting at weekend, I know you fast sometimes at weekend laska anyone else?

Wow, fair play Chocupid for attempting a fast, I'm going to do a 16:8 but purely because I'm eating out for lunch and know there's no way I'll fit 3 meals in for 1600 cals (my tdee calculated for goal weight) Just completed a 40 minute run which I hope will go a ways towards the chocolate I ate yesterdayBlush No hangover, just tail end of Totm and I'm powerless over buying/eating chocolate. I get migraine style hangovers, so bad that I've decided for the next few weeks to seriously limit my alcohol intake, it might break my habit of over indulgence and will defo help my weight loss efforts! I been allowing myself 1-2 glasses of wine with dinner - only Friday/Saturday, weekend had started too early for a good while, or put it this way didn't seem to end, Monday night could be considered game if there was a drop of vino left! Then maybe 2 small g&t's, then that's it, bar closed, cup of tea time. I'm in 2 minds today as to drink or not, I don't want to end of a total control freak...hmm...maybe a glass of icy white, just one and maybe 1 glass with my seafood supper. Ahh, all set! Best of luck with the painting Choc, will defo help keep you busy, good ploy to keep your hand out of the fridgeWink

I'm fasting with you not2b today.

Wasn't a true fast yesterday after all, I didn't eat till 5pm but then I had a huge Sunday lunch and ice cream, doubt it was even under TDEE by the time I'd finished Grin

Gotta have respect for those of you who fast at weekend, especially when family are around, it's tough!!

Off to the gym for metafit and kettles, then will eat only a 400cal dinner, much happier fasting today!

About 1.5 hours to go til lunch and I'm doing ok. So flipping busy I haven't time to eat regardless! Just going to keep the head down, as long as it doesn't rain I plan on a brisk walk in about an hour, best of luck fellow Monday fd'ers Wink

Hi Dotty ran out of paint and money.... it's a big job (why I've been putting it off) I'll be fasting again thurs, my pants need to be looser, can't remember who said wear tight clothes on a fast day but it works!!

That was me Chocupid, and today I wore a pair of trousers that damn near cut off my circulationGrin Plan is to try them again next week, see can I close the button rather than putting the hook think in the button hole iykwim - gives me back a badly needed inch amd with a long top it's fine. I'm doing ok but am feeling very low nowSad Rough day and every last thing is dancing on my nerves. Filled up on green veg with a little bacon loin but would like something else....it will lift if I let it, I can talk myself out of this, find something to so. I can have it tomorrow right?

keep strong not2b do you have a spare 40cals left for an options hot choc or even half of one? Give yourself something to look forward too!

If not go online virtual shopping (for skinny clothes) have a bath, clean your teeth, paint your nails or all of the above.

It was my new Intellichef's fault (a present from DF) . courgetteand feta fritters (deep fried) on Saturday.
I do (did) usually fast on Sundays but we had more fritters for lunch yesterday as they were so yum, along with chicken chorizo casseroleand home grown new potatoes (we had guests)

left over fritters for lunch today and just had more chicken casserole and potatoes now Blush (was supposed to be a FD) BUM..How will iever get back to 10st (and not have tight jeans) at this rate?

Need huge Kick up Jaxie please !!

Tomorrow I will not take any lunch to work.. I can survive on black coffee and tea until the evening... ive done it before .

Oh Laska the thoughts of that food...swoon! I've nibbled on half a cheese string, which did nothing for me but annoy me, wasting my cals on that muck! House smells of toast and my tummys a rumbling. Good plan for tomorrow, sometimes all you need is 1 good FD to get you path on the path of good behaviour.
I don't have any options choc but I do have galaxy hot choc which is over double the cals at around 97 for a 200ml serving but that's got to be better than losing the whole FD plot! Thanks all for the encouragement, really appreciate itFlowers

Hi all, sorry to be absent for a while, but my fast days went missing and I was too embarrassed to admit it!

You can tell I'm on a fast day today... As I've just sloped off to bed. At 9:05pm Blush. Still, it's been a good one! Have only had milk in my tea, a cappuccino, and a cheese toasty. Not healthy, but around 500 cals, so I feel like I'm back in the game.

Hope you're all doing well, I'll read back now!

We know we all tend to be backsliders and thats why this thread is here so that we can help each other knowing that we do know what to do and that it works but sometimes we just dont make it despite out best intentions .).

My FDs have gone a bit AWOL again also.. But I am determined to succeed tomorrow though now ..
