Hi there, Im one of the 'old original' 5:2ers who started way back in August 2012 and lost 24lbs..

I maintained for over a year and was active on the Maintainers thread , but sadly since last summer/Autumn, ive backslid.. Now I'm 12lbs up off my lowest weight again Sad

I know what to do , I know it works , but I can hardly say I should be on the 'maintainers' again. So im posting a new thread here , in the hope that I may find some other backsliders willing to recommit along with me before it's too late ..

Come and join me again before its too late.. We can regroup and get back on track.. I'm still managing to squeeze into my sz 10s (mostly) but I cant afford a new wardrobe, I dont want to buy a larger one.. and I certainly do want to get back to what I was (and maybe finish the job properly with another half stone off , so I can rejoin the Maintainers and comfortably say that this WOE is really this time going to stay with me for life..

So anyone with me? .. I have fasted today (first one for ages) .. WE CAN DO IT AGAIN!!

Well, I ended up not eating the mystery soup as caved in and ate multiple snacky things at about 4pm. So, suspect total cal intake was nearer to 800 cals in the end. Bugger.

Current weight is 11st 2lbs. Lowest weight when fully committed to 5:2 was 10st 4lbs so would love to get back to around that again.

itsaboat you were always very similar to me, weight wise. What are your scales telling you at the moment? Smile

And welcome toomuchtooold, nice to have you with us!

ARGHtoAHHH · 07/10/2014 10:20

toomuchtooold - hello, didn't see you there!

My FD are also Tues and Thurs - also my working days. So we can encourage each other, yes??

bbcessex · 07/10/2014 11:11

arghghg - I do do 3 fast days - Mon / Wed / Fri.. (unless I am out on a Friday). I find it quite easy, but as you can see - I stayed the same this week, so thank god I do, otherwise I would have put on. I have quite a low TDEE and don't often do anything to increase it, so when I have a big weekend, it makes a difference.

  • this info is from last year - I am only starting week 3 of my new regime, but if I can lose 4lbs a month on this WOE, I will be delighted.
toomuchtooold · 07/10/2014 13:34

Thank you! I was wavering when I came in from toddlers group this morning but your welcome messages were there so I am going to embrace the teeny tiny bowl of muesli...

bbcessex · 07/10/2014 14:06

fabulous! Come on toomuchtooold - you'll feel much better after a few days on the 5:3 horse :-)

bbcessex · 07/10/2014 14:11

ps.. repeat this mantra:
drink water, wee lots, drink water, wee lots, drink water, wee lots!

Dotty342kids · 07/10/2014 14:20

So true bbc Grin

ARGHtoAHHH · 07/10/2014 14:44

oh god.

Huge FD fail...just had dirty chicken and chips from the local chicken cottage.

I've been feeling unwell all day, so that was my excuse.

Now I feel a million times worse!

bbcessex · 07/10/2014 21:29

no worries argggh - if it were me, I'd have a huge glass of wine, a bar of chocolate, and then have an FD tomorrow.. that's the beauty of this WOE.

Come on - you can do it (laughing at 'dirty chicken' though!).

bbcessex · 07/10/2014 21:32

well done with the back-to-back Melanie.. how many FDs are you doing in week when you do that?

ARGHtoAHHH · 07/10/2014 21:33

haha thanks bbcessex - will try again tomorrow. I'm home with DS though which makes it difficult. Although I am still unwell...I didn't have anything else to eat all day, and if I'm still feeling like this tomorrow I probably won't have an appetite. Every cloud, eh?

Dotty342kids · 08/10/2014 09:14

Aargh even if you're still feeling unwell today, I'd try to put aside some feel good foods for today's FD, otherwise you may eat nothing all day and then give in to more "dirty" food Smile. How about something like a piece of granary toast, half a tin of baked beans and a small amount of grated cheese. Proper comfort food, but FD friendly?

ItsaboatJack · 08/10/2014 09:16

Morning all. Who's fasting today? I've got a busy day at work so hopefully it should be an easy one-ish.

bbcessex · 08/10/2014 10:37

Morning everyone :-)
I'm fasting today Itsaboat.. normally I have no prob with FDs, even if working at home, but I think I'm going to struggle today as I am hungry already.

I'm not going to go off track, I'm just not going to find it as easy today - probably because I tried to limit what I ate yesterday on a NFD, so it's harder today I guess.

I am feeling better though, and my clothes are already fitting me better despite 'only' a 4lb loss on the scales.

I wonder if it's possible to end up the only 13stone size 8 in the world at 5'4? :-) :-)

bbcessex · 08/10/2014 10:38

PS - arghgh good luck today and stay away from the chicken!!!!

ARGHtoAHHH · 08/10/2014 11:42

Thanks all. I am really poorly today. Worse than yesterday. Just had a slice of toast with butter.

Being sick with an active toddler to look after is horrid. I must've fallen asleep on sofa. Woken up to a tip. Every drawer in the house has been emptied onto the floor.

I'm in a world of pain!

Good luck to those of you fasting today!

ItsaboatJack · 08/10/2014 14:24

I'm finding it tough going today too bbc, just mentally, not too bad actual physical hunger. And I managed 30 mins on my exercise bike Smile

Argh, hope you're feeling better soon.

bbcessex · 08/10/2014 21:15

argghg - what a nightmare... you poor thing. I wouldn't worry about fasting if I were you - just get through the days until you feel better, then start again.

Well done on the exercise bike, itsaboat - excellent effort!

The day is nearly over, woo hoo - almost breakfast time :-) :-)

ARGHtoAHHH · 08/10/2014 21:28

Thank you, I'm feeling better now, and have gorged on chilli con carni and had a bit of chocolate.

Well done to those who managed a successful fast day today. Think I'll start afresh next week Grin

ItsaboatJack · 09/10/2014 08:03

Phew made it through yesterday. I was struggling in the evening mind, but 2 hrs of ironing got me through Grin

Glad you're feeling better Argh

Dotty342kids · 09/10/2014 09:15

So who's fasting with me today? Chicken curry for dinner tonight, I'm fantasising about it already!

ARGHtoAHHH · 09/10/2014 09:47

Morning all!

I won't be fasting today - my friend got a job she was after and we will be celebrating tonight...no chance of fasting. Saturday I've got a wedding so lots of drinking and eating.

...next week I will restart.

Good luck to those fasting today

MelanieCheeks · 09/10/2014 14:54

When I do back-to-backs I sometimes throw in a mini-fast on the Friday as well. But I've got a working lunch thing tomorrow so that probably won't happen.

ItsaboatJack · 09/10/2014 15:51

How's your day going Dotty?

Dotty342kids · 09/10/2014 16:12

Hello itsaboat, it's going ok thanks though did just give in to a bag of Walkers French Fries crisps (87 cals)!
Going to start making dinner shortly and then need to hold out until DH rolls in at 7.30 to eat it Smile
