Starting a new thread as we filled up the old one!

DC 17 is in 6th season with NYMT. Also former BYMTer.

These annual threads have been a source of advice, emotional support and camaraderie for those of us with young performers enjoying everything that these awesome organisations bring.

It depends tbh if they’re likely to eat the food or not. There is an awful lot available but it won’t suit everyone.
Send snacks for sure but no nuts.
Regarding towels, I stand by my post earlier. 2!
I was going to extol the virtues of Dock & Bay towels earlier but recognised I was just getting a bit silly in my tired state 😉

My son has arfid so we sent LOTS of snacks!

Thank you - mine eats lots but burns all his calories in seconds! Do they share rooms or is there an option to have their own?

Hmm, it might depend on age groups and locations. I think DS has always shared in Sevenoaks but in Tonbridge and Dulwich they were single rooms

Well done to your DS. How old is he?

My DD said Canterbury great for both rooms and food! Lovely grounds for when they get some glimpses of down time and shops right outside for buying extra snack and things! Sainsbury’s local and a whole high street of shops! If younger they get let out in small groups and first with pastoral team. The pastoral are FANTASTIC!!! Genuinely awesome and moon after our DC amazingly!

For anyone who has DC in Fame who don’t know about it already, there’s a Snapchat group which has been set up by the cast. If you want to DM me with any details when private messages are back up and running I can get my DS to add them to the group. He found this a brilliant way to get to know everyone a little before his first show as he was a bit nervous at first.

@Livingtheirauthenticlife she's not on here but I do know someone whose DD is in Carousel, she's either 15 or 16, I can't remember! I could easily ask her mum if I can put you in touch if you would like. PM me if so when we can again!

First time is the best! I am sure that's true whether your MYT is of the B or the N variety 😆 Amazing lifelong memories. Congrats to her!

Amazing! Thank you @allhailthebrain! My DS would love the opportunity to chat and get to know a few from the cast before heading to Canterbury. Though I think I’m more nervous than he is! 😳😃

Haven’t paid yet, just waiting for payday 😬. I can only go by last year’s Lightning Boy workshop re casting - they weren’t precast at all and all had the opportunity to read for whichever parts they wanted. They did lots of work with the writers and then some parts were rewritten and then cast, sometimes double or triple cast. My DS honestly had the best time and didn’t want it to end!

Thanks @Operasingerkath DC is really looking forward to the workshop experience as they haven’t done one before. I haven’t been sent an invoice….. Just the acceptance letter. Has it gone awry?

Actually no, I haven’t got the invoice either! I guess they’re dealing with the acceptances and the invoices will follow shortly

My DD was cast in a particular part in Stagshawe Fayre workshop last year before she arrived. They didnt actually tell her before she arrived but gave her the part when she started on the first day. It was a part which they specifically wanted to try two different age ranges for.

I've not had an invoice yet either, but have had a email from Chris confirming DC's place is confirmed.

Thanks @MxPickles @Coniger I received the automated email saying that I'd accepted the role. It was the one with the link to the online shop....! Is that the same as everyone else? I was only worrying as it said the deposit was due by the 28th.....

I’ve just found out the young son of one of my ds’s previous instrumental teachers is in Carousel which is lovely.
