Continuation of the NYMT/BYMT 2021 thread because the other one got full!!!

@Yr10mum and @doesanybodyhaveamap - that would have been lovely! But the Henrietta bubbles are only just forming from today, and they were expecting not to be able to meet up with any of their friends in the other shows. Hunchback is ahead in the schedule!

@Yr10mum - she's going into the masters programme (this is her last year with NYMT because of age).

Dd got offered a place on our girls, our game - I guess someone has had to change their plans. We can do it - any info to help us decide would be good! Not done a bymt course before. Two weeks residential sounds intense but she is 15 and pretty good meeting new people.

My DD was 15 for her first BYMT she had a ball, she is now also on Peter Pan and having an amazing time. She always makes friends and has kept in contact with friends from previous shows. I am so excited to go and watch next weekend. My Dad who has spent 18 months considering taking the recycling in the wheelbarrow to the village hall as a high risk activity has decided to drive the width of the country, stay in a b&b and eat out to watch his GD!

Aww @Lonecatwithkitten that’s so lovely. My mum is flying down from Glasgow too to watch her grandson! We are having a wee impromptu Devon holiday.

I wish they were allowed to tell them all to turn the app off. Poor kid. I hope they will be able to ascertain that this is a case of phones being too close rather than people, get a negative PCR and move on..

And @janinlondon so glad your DD has made her decision for RAM. She'll go far!

I know lots of them don't have the app on - during term time it was pinging people living in multi storey accommodation who had never even met each other and had entirely separate entrances to the building. A PCR has been ordered apparently for the boy on Henrietta. And thanks @Biscuitsneeded - let's hope it works out!

@Lonecatwithkitten I saw the videos yesterday looking good. No sign of my ds in photos or videos was starting to think he wasn’t there 😂😂.

Still loving it- think it was a band call today and castle tomorrow- getting so close. Got radio Devon on ha ha

Hi are you sent a kit list before they go? It’s getting quite soon for us and I wonder if they need jazz shoes etc?

Nearly had a little weep watching the cabaret videos DD looks so happy I haven't seen her like that since Feb 2020 when she was in Adams Family.

Her mental health has taken a real battering over the last 10 years for a variety of reasons and performing has always been her escape and to not have that for so long made things even worse. I could see my girl back again in the videos sparkly and loving every minute.
I know often people look at the cost of BYMT or NYMT and wonder is it worth it. If your DC is someone who lives to perform it is worth every penny. DD keeps being reminded at college that these are professional productions and should go on your CV when you start out.

Can anyone who has a DC in Hunchback update on what’s happening? We had tickets to see the performance as we live locally and one of my DCs would like to audition next year but have heard on the grapevine that it may be cancelled?

@Musicschoolquestions not cancelled. They've all come home to test and isolate but the intention is very much that the show goes on and they resume in Manchester on Monday. This is a super-precaution to protect the production and everyone is being really upbeat.

Ooh can’t believe it’s showtime for Peter Pan!! I feel so nervous - just as well I’m not the performer!!

I’m not going until tomorrow night so if anyone is there tonight it would be great to know how it’s going! My comms have been limited as my sons phone completely broke first week. Heard all the excited chatter on the bus this morning when he called from a friends phone. They must be buzzing.
