Continuation of the NYMT/BYMT 2021 thread because the other one got full!!!

Anyone have any inside info on when NYMT will release their audition dates. Website says autumn. Diary is already booking up for next year so it would be good to know.

@Mcmumager I have no insider knowledge at all I'm afraid, but I don't think it will be too long now as they must hopefully be booking the venues. Roughly where are you based? There's always plenty of choice of dates for London, but if you're elsewhere I agree it would be helpful to have the dates. Unless things change the recalls (should one be so lucky) are usually the weekend at the end of the Feb half term, which I think is 19/20 Feb.

@Biscuitsneeded we are Derbyshire so can do various venues. It’s just he has a show in feb with weekend rehearsals in the new year. He did the London recall sessions 2020 and I’ve just realised the weekend is when he is in a show on the Sat!

Yes mine also has a show that weekend. If he's lucky enough to get a recall he'll have to ask for the Sunday and hope he's not too tired.

@Mcmumager at least where you're based you should have a few options for venues and therefore dates.

Just hoping the Christmas shows get to go ahead for NYMT and BYMT next week in light of all the changes.

Still no dates for NYMT on their website. Did anyone audition for BYMT online? My ds is booked in for Jan.

We haven’t booked any auditions yet but have got tic for the BYMT show. Excited!

I am really hoping there will be some NYMT news soon! Not least because DS's early Spring looks manic, and trying to ringfence a couple of weekend dates as potential NYMT audition dates without knowing where and when they will be happening is tricky! Fingers crossed for news soon. I imagine they are leaving it as late as possible to see what happens with Covid and rules/regulations, as the last thing they want is to organise a whole load of in person auditions and book travel and venues etc and then find they can't happen. Fingers crossed for a bit of clarity soon.

Slightly climbing the walls here, having to factor in child being away at boarding school! She will either need help with prepping an audition recording or I'm going to have to go get her for a weekend dash somewhere in January. Need to know!!!!

You could always record a song anyway over the Xmas hols so it's ready to send if needed! I have a feeling they are holding off as long as possible on any decisions to see what happens. Feels like Covid has sadly ramped up a gear almost overnight!

anyone got news update on timings next Sunday from NYMT and any music parts sent out yet?

Well, sadly the NYMT Christmas concert is cancelled. Irrelevant for DS who actually has Covid now anyway, but so sad for everyone, especially the NYMT team who will have worked hard to prepare. I understand why though. It might have been quite irresponsible to press on and risk a super spreader event right when people might be seeing elderly relatives. However, they did say auditions will open in the next few days for 2022. God knows what format they will take - I think we're in for a rocky few months.

That is so sad. You can understand it but it’s so rubbish we are all in this situation again facing Christmas.

We’ve had some music through from BYMT today so I guess still going ahead but there might be some difficult decisions ahead eh?

The NYMT dates and venues for auditions are on the website but don’t think they are ready for booking yet.

Auditions live tomorrow according to DS who's seen something on Instagram.

Hi @Biscuitsneeded. Yes the BYMT show is still on, DD safely delivered to Oxford Street for 9am. Bit early for a Saturday morning. 🤪

@DalekFan and @Mcmumager the cast of Peter did themselves proud last night. All the shows did amazing job.

@Lonecatwithkitten @Mcmumager It was a wonderful evening and I have to admit that I got quite emotional during the carols. DD had the best day reconnecting with all the PP gang, they all get on so well. She just felt sad that it was their last time performing together - but what a time they’ve had. Memories to last a lifetime.
