Oh @Comefromaway I am so so sorry to hear this. Worst possible timing. Thinking of you all x

Three others have now tested positive. It’s 5/6 days from exposure.

Mcmumager · 04/07/2021 17:28

So licensing forms all submitted for Peter Pan. Anyone else swinging between excitement that things can go ahead and stress waiting for that test and trace ping or positive test result!

Any of the BYMT reserves heard anything lately?

As another Peter Pan mum yes terrified that my DD might be the one who brings down the whole production. She is so good and so careful and our household is tested all the time as DH is elite sports testing program. Still very anxious about.
Vivalettre · 05/07/2021 12:39

So sorry to hear about your DD @Comefromaway. These kids have lost out on so much recently Sad

minimits · 06/07/2021 23:23

So sorry @comefromaway-my nephew has just had same thing-Graduate year of Ballet school and cancelled the day of the first performance. No graduation no showcase and isolating. These poor kids. I didn’t think this year could be worse than last but…trying to stay positive shows will go ahead but it’s hard in the face of rising cases.

Comefromaway · 06/07/2021 23:41

E by any chance? Dd has friends there. She’s at H.

minimits · 07/07/2021 14:33

Yes. For some they don’t even know when they will get to dance again. It’s all so awful. Wish they would at least change the isolation rules when restrictions lift then would give the shows much more of a chance.

Biscuitsneeded · 08/07/2021 10:20

Well, it's 2 weeks and one day till Hunchback residential starts. I'm encouraging DS to wind down his activities as much as possible and hopefully effectively isolate for the week prior to arrival. Just desperate for this to work, for the kids and for the company who have been through so much and probably cannot afford for any of the shows to go down at this point.

Mcmumager · 09/07/2021 12:00

My dd has been offered a BYMT show today - unfortunately she won’t be able to do it due to a clash but I think she will be chuffed to be offered.

On another point has anyone take insurance for their BYMT/NYMT place? Only 9 days till my ds is due to go and with the rise in cases I want to get some insurance in case he gets covid/told to isolate just as he is due to go. Has anyone found a company that covers this?

Biscuitsneeded · 10/07/2021 10:28

@Mcmumager Well done to your DD! It's a shame it isn't a show she can do date-wise - is it worth asking if they have any spaces on a show that would work for her? In my experience (anecdotal only) BYMT are pretty happy to move people around.
I have no idea about insurance. I don't know if you can even get it for things like this.

Mcmumager · 17/07/2021 11:01

Suitcase packed for BYMT Peter Pan starting tomorrow. Crossing everything for all the kids and the team that covid stays away and they get to have a blast this summer.

doesanybodyhaveamap · 17/07/2021 12:08

It's all so exciting! Both our information packs arrived yesterday, feeling very real now. Have an amazing time everyone!!

Belshels · 17/07/2021 21:06

Have an fab time everyone. Am debating whether to stop and catch Peter Pan after dropping dd in Plymouth on Sat 6th, it's gonna be amazing!

Belshels · 17/07/2021 21:06

7th I mean!

Biscuitsneeded · 18/07/2021 21:16

Hope those who went to their residentials today arrived safely and with negative LFTs. Fingers crossed for an amazing and healthy time for all!

Apart from a brief I'm here text ( she went by train) I have heard nothing which I assume means she's having a good time!
DalekFan · 19/07/2021 14:07

Thank you @Biscuitsneeded. DD safely delivered and as far as I can tell all is well (from the brief messages I’ve received)! 😄

Mcmumager · 19/07/2021 14:51

I got a FaceTime to show me the room and his clothes all hung up lol. Today got a message saying it was going sick Smile.

Finally got a very excited text this evening, proud mum. Also said everyone is really nice and the food is really good (it wasn't great last time).
Mcmumager · 19/07/2021 22:08

@Lonecatwithkitten I got a 3 minute call before final evening rehearsal then a text to tell what part he has and a promise to call properly tomorrow. He said everyone is lovely and they are definitely eating well!! So lovely to hear him buzzing again.

allhailthebrain · 20/07/2021 17:34

So glad everyone is enjoying! Can't wait for mine to get to Henrietta rehearsals! Just now trying to avoid the world and test like crazy...

Did anyone apply for BTA's performance of 13? It seems to have gone quiet...

HereComeTheHolidays · 22/07/2021 14:47

Hi everyone my son loves to sing - has singing lessons (he has passed grade 5) and loves drama/musicals but hasn't had any "proper" experience. We have booked him on one of the summer residential courses as we think he will gain a lot from it - but I am slightly worried now that he might not have enough experience even though it says you don't need any.... can someone reassure me?
