Continuation of the NYMT/BYMT 2021 thread because the other one got full!!!

Just as things were going well my daughter’s class has been put into 10 days isolation. 2 weeks before their grad showcase was due to take place.

Oh no! DS’s end of year show is also on hold due to cast having to isolate. Not good times…

I am so sorry. I am really fearful for the upper sixth and foundation showcase at DD's college as they are in a surge area so everyone is having to have a PCR at the moment.

BYMT results are coming out.

@Mcmumager back to constantly refreshing my emails! The wait is excruciating.

My ds has been offered a place on Peter Pan and my dd a reserve spot. Lots to think about and waiting game isn’t over lol.

@Mcmumager congratulations to your ds! From what I have heard in previous years most reserves have been offered a place but hard for your dd to still have to wait.

@feelinhopeful good luck, I hope you hear soon. @Mcmumager congratulations to your ds and I hope they let the reserve list know soon 🤞🏻. My son has been offered a place on ‘the night the war ended’. We now have to work out the logistics of it all- I’m not sure it could be much further from where we live.

@Jojoscircus congratulations to your son- i think it’s a far away location that one for anyone! I hope you can make it work. Ours is also pretty far away! Not sure if any accommodation would be free for things either this year lol.

It’s a no for dd unfortunately for this year but they recommended that she do a summer school but think it was a general no email. She had a much more personalised response from Nymt and other contact since from them so would hope that there would be something with them in the future!

@Alakazam8 sorry to hear that. I hope she isn’t too disappointed. It’s tough especially after all the waiting.

@Alakazam8 I'm sorry to hear that. We also had a no from NYMT earlier in the year. My dd preferred the audition with BYMT so if we get the expected no she'll do a summer camp with them.

I feel like princess Fiona with all the waiting!

Mcmumager the other cast members of Peter Pan have both an Instagram and Snap chat group getting to know each other. If you join the Facebook group (private) there is a post there that will help him get in contact with the others. No decisions were made on the workshop and none will be made until two days into the summer.

So place accepted in Peter Pan for my ds- he is really excited and I’m looking forward to my extra holiday to Devon .

How many of us are also in the reserves waiting room. My dd age 13 is there.

Hello - just checked the details on Nightshade and it will no longer be in Plymouth. Has moved to London. Did anyone get an update about that? Wondering if I missed an email.

Thanks for the kind messages. Dd wasn’t too disappointed. We won’t do a summer school this year but she will be doing a very good local one at a renowned school/college. She has also been offered a lot of recording sessions in a studio locally over the summer hols. We will audition next year again, particularly with NYMT who seemed much more open to dd’s additional needs. Luckily she enjoyed the audition process and hopefully will enjoy future auditions. We will look at summer schools as she gets a bit older, maybe in 2 years or so. Luckily we are at the very youngest end of the age group really!

Alakazam glad your DD is OK. I'm sure it's worth another go next year for all these things.

Can I stick my head above the parapet and ask whether you all really think all of these shows will be able to happen? I veer between optimism and defeatism on a daily basis. I so, so hope they can, but DS and I both know he can't count on it.
