Continuation of the NYMT/BYMT 2021 thread because the other one got full!!!

I think a tenor/bass would be a bit of a stretch for my little soprano lol :-)

Just emailed Kylie as her previous email stated we would hear either way by Friday. I got an out of office back. She’s off until the 10th.

Maybe try the enquiries email? That’s the one I’ve always used. Good luck!

I've taken the last email to mean you have been unsuccessful this year round. However, if places come up on the workshop or shows and we think you are suitable we'll be in touch. In other words I didn't read it as they'd send another round of emails to everyone. (That may be me managing my expectations!)

Just popped on to see if anyone had news. I sympathise - you must feel a bit trapped in limbo. I really hope you all get news one way or the other soon - and ideally good news, of course!

Gosh what a really long wait for you all. Must be torture.

If it’s not totally insensitive to those already waiting for BYMT could I be cheeky and ask a question. There is an option to send extra footage of 3 mins song, dance or acting or a combo of the 3 before or after your audition.

Have people taken the opportunity to send this in and if so what and when?

Good news here, DS has been offered the Cinderella Workshop. I'm excited for him but I know he'll want more info! If anyone has any experience of how it works, how enjoyable it is and how much they learn please share. Fingers crossed for lots more good news for those still waiting.
PS - Extra special thanks to @Biscuitsneeded, we had an offline conversation on the other forum a few years ago. You speak so highly of NYMT and your knowledge is really valuable. Thanks for sharing.

I can't add any first hand experience of the workshop, but I've always thought that it would be great to be so involved in the creative experience and a fantastic opportunity that we would grab with both hands if DD were ever offered....

My two DS’s have had offers for the workshop too this morning. One of them has a named role so I am assuming the other is ensemble.
As far as I know the workshop works in the same way as the shows do from a rehearsal perspective but they work with the writers so that changes can be made as the time progresses. Anyone I know who has done the workshop has thoroughly enjoyed it and all auditioned again in subsequent years.

For anyone on a BYMT list they have emailed confirming arrangements for Peter Pan and asking if you are no longer able to join to confirm ASAP.
They need to have had a negative PCR test within 48 hours of joining the half term workshop.

@Lonecatwithkitten My DD is in Peter Pan but we’ve not had the email.

@DalekFan it arrived at 13.10 today from Frances. There are some slight changes to original plan so if it doesn't arrive soon get in contact with her.

Email just in so it's a No for DD, nice email with a sweetener of "would still like to see her at the Sevenoaks residential course".

Thanks for all the info, support and guidance on here, DD was a newbie to this audition process and have to say it's been a great experience for her!!

Hopefully catch you next year to do it all over again!!!

Congratulations to those who have got into Cinderella Kiss! And @Pollydollydimpledo keep going! She’s done brilliantly to get this far! As I’ve bored everyone on here with already DS didn’t get in until his fourth attempt!
Glad everyone is at last getting an answer and hope everyone has an amazing summer doing whatever marvellous things they end up doing!

@nearlyhomealone you're very welcome, and I'm delighted to read that your DS will get the NYMT experience this year. Huge well done to him. I'm sure he will have a really great time - please update the thread afterwards!
