@Comefromaway I just can’t work it out. DD has been very relaxed about everything but now has become quite anxious 😟

@Pinkstargazer12 that's very odd. All I can think is that as it's not a massive organisation the two people who have been sending emails out this weekend may have a day off to recover - not realising that your poor DD has no news.
I hope you hear back very quickly now.

Just found this super helpful thread and have already learnt a lot, thank you all! I have a first time musician DC and we don't know anyone who has done NYMT in the past.

For those that received good news & replied to accept their place within 24 hours, did you receive a confirmation e-mail? Suddenly having a panic that my accept e-mail didn't go through and they've offered the musician place to someone else!!

I don't know about musicians, I did get a reply when accepting the performer's place a few days ago. But I wouldn't panic! You can always double check :)

DS' offer e-mail asked him to reply to Kylie@ to confirm his place. I am sure they are checking the enquiries one too though. And if you paid the deposit I'm sure you'll be fine.

After emailing Kylie directly, we finally have news. It’s a no (totally expected) and DD is fine. Kylie did say DD is a reserve for all the shows and the workshop is still being cast. They will email either way by Friday. Is this a standard response or are some receiving definite no’s. In a garbled way, I’m

@Pinkstargazer we also had the an email to say my DD is a reserve for the shows and is being considered for the workshop. From what I can gather this seems to be what most people have been told. There seem to only been a few people who are still waiting to hear anything at all and I haven't heard of anyone having a flat out no as yet. I guess we will all have to wait until Friday but we should all be very proud of our DC for getting this far. Its a great achievement no matter what the outcome particularly after this past horrendous year.

Just wanted to say to anyone who gets a no-as everyone else has said to get this far is an amazing accomplishment and is nothing to do with not being good enough. DS had three years of NYMT no’s before he finally got a yes. They definitely recognise perseverance and it’s worth sticking at it! Good luck to everyone on the reserve list!

Thanks @lolacharlie43 I suspect it is a standard holding message, totally understandable when there is so much going on. DD’s friend had an email saying she was reserve for BTK but not anything else, perhaps there are a few versions of the email? It is an achievement and DD is very happy with the reserve list place.

Thanks all for the reassurance! Musician in Hunchback. Spent a wonderful sunny weekend in Manchester a few years ago, so super pleased we can go back to watch the show there. It'll be like a mini holiday after the craziness of this year.
