Had my Boxercise class last night, with 9 people. That's huge for the Wednesday class, I was well chuffed. We have a couple of participants who are running the local (hilly as all heck) marathon for charity, so I've said I'll sell some of my stock of spare gloves and give the money to the cause. I buy gloves on vinted and ebay, when they're a good price, can't really help myself. Might have a small vinted addiction but that's by the by!
Also earlier in the day I had a nice chat with the hiring manager at the cooncil gyms group. I'm hoping to cover Anna Sensei's Combat class when she's off, and they're keen to give me a slot of my own down the line - but first I have to get through the points based application filter - and he gave me some pointers there. So I came away from that quite encouraged and then spent a while going through the fairly thorough LA application form (the same one for a casual gym instructor as for head of social care by the look of it!).
All I ever wanted when I did my Les Mills initial module 4 years ago, was for Anna and I to be colleagues and share the Combat classes. When I got shit-canned by the gym years ago, I really thought it was all over for my BodyCombat teaching. So, to have a chance of teaching it again, even occasionally, I'm well chuffed.
