Also long work day, I had to force myself out after dinner and before bed to exceed my 10km goal.

I don’t have an active job, I’m behind a desk all day. I guess that’s one of the reasons I’ve joined this thread because otherwise on days like today I wouldn’t have bothered.

28 mins of yin yoga today. Feeling frazzled and unfocused and thought this might help - we’ll see!

stilldumdedumming · 03/06/2026 20:35

Did not get up to swim this morning.
joined an online yoga class.

I am stressed. Off camping tomorrow and I have too much do!
I am going to attempt yoga/ Pilates/ bodyweight exercise while camping. I shall report back.

Morning yoga stretches (10 mins)
6k walk
3k walk
Dance cardio workout (25 mins)
Pilates class (1 hour)

23,000 steps

Run Club in the morning. Stretches, etc both ends. In between, 90 seconds of running followed by 60 seconds of walking. Not sure how many times. I'm astonished that I managed it. 45 minutes. Had my new running shoes, podiatrist orthotics with right foot built up a bit more, ankle support and elasticated knee pads.

Only three of us showed up, unfortunately.

Senior Flex in the afternoon: cardio, stretches, squats, wall pressers, upper body work using 3.7 kg weights. 45 minutes.

Active for Life - 15 minutes on bike; side raises and biceps curls with stretches in between - 6kg weights. 45 minutes, but took it easy. 92

Had a great walk after work. Hoping to do an exercise class tomorrow evening, break up all the walking a bit!

Alittlefrustrated · 03/06/2026 21:51

60 mins home workout - pilates and also some strength training with kettlebell, dumbells, and body bar. Felt "wrung out" afterwards - I love that feeling.

On the subject of step counts I'm a retired nurse. The first
22 years of my career were in non stop environments and I was as skinny as a rake (yet also had the energy to do lots of exercise in my own time too).
The last 14 years were spent sitting - in the car, on clints floors, on sofas, and behind a desk. In the last 5 years the computer work spread into my evenings and weekends too. I put 3 stone on, and stopped exercising. It drove me insane. There's so much truth in the saying you have to spend physical energy to make energy.
I dropped 1.5 stone very quickly after retiring - just because I was no longer tied to a bloody computer!

That’s brilliant @WearyAuldWumman Well done

WearyAuldWumman · 03/06/2026 22:34

3k walk
8k run (my longest one ever)! 🙌

WearyAuldWumman · 04/06/2026 22:25

No exercise today, apart from a bit of gardening. Was fine yesterday, but glutes and legs a tad sore and stiff today. Have done some stretches.

No idea whether I'll manage all my classes tomorrow - I'm scheduled for Active for Life, Run Club and Senior Flex.

Crossing my fingers.

stilldumdedumming · 04/06/2026 23:36

Your collective step counts are boggling my brain!

I did 2 x 60 swim
and 1 hr qi gong

Well done on your long run @MummyInTheNecropolis

BezMills · 05/06/2026 05:09

The storms have put the kybosh on any sea swimming this week, but I did make it to BodyCombat on Tuesday. I think I threw my back a little bit doing the kicks (been known to happen). I spent the cool down doing hips and low back stuff as a kind of first aid, which seems to have avoided the worst of it. Woke up this morning still a bit twingey but I've got the sauna later this morning to look forward to. Hopefully that will help. Might avoid the Marine Fitties tomorrow - I'm not needing much of an excuse to be honest!

Well done on your long run @MummyInTheNecropolis

Thank you @stilldumdedumming I went with my new running friend, it felt much easier having someone to chat to along the way!

WearyAuldWumman · 05/06/2026 14:58

The Friday Active for Life class overlaps with the Run Club. so only did around 15 mins: warm-up, 3 sets of lat pulls, 3 sets of triceps pulls, 3 sets of biceps curls. Started at 19; switched to 26k.

At Run Club (45 minutes) it was warm-up, stretch, 8 one minute runs/jogs interspersed with one minute walks, followed by cool-down and stretch. Not a lot, but I did it.

Senior Flex (45 minutes) - stretches, upper body and lower body workout with free weights, 3.75kg.

Alittlefrustrated · 05/06/2026 17:30

Had company and lovely weather today so 10.6 mile coastal walk. Walked to the lighthouse at the end of the pier and there were loads of dolphins! Made my day. I've never seen them there before.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 05/06/2026 17:36

Wow @Alittlefrustrated that sounds amazing, where were you? (Roughly, I’m not asking for your exact location 😄)

I haven’t done much today, felt a bit stiff after that long run yesterday. Did my morning yoga (only 10 mins) and lots of walking. 19,700 steps so far but going out for dinner tonight so should be at least 22-23,000 by the time I’ve walked to the bus stop and back.

The legs are already a bit achy. I booked myself into Yoga when a space came up...I might regret it, but I'm hoping that the stretching etc might help.

I have to keep up the exercise - it's the only thing that's ever kept my weight in check. I tried on an old 'free size' summer dress from the back of the wardrobe today: it barely went over my chest and when I tugged it down, my stomach made me look like I don't know what.

WearyAuldWumman · 05/06/2026 21:18

Forgot - that was 93.
