Where can I buy workout clothes if I’m too mean to pay £50 for gym leggings?

I need a high street store so I can try them off. I have previously bought stuff on Vinted that doesn’t fit well.

M&S Goodmove are excellent.

Greenfree · 07/08/2023 08:34

Tk max have a good section of workout stuff

BBno4 · 07/08/2023 08:34

Decathlon, they have really good leggings i think I paid about a tenner. They have changing rooms too.

IthinkIamAnAlien · 07/08/2023 08:35

Decathlon are excellent and good value and you can shop online. Or Primark if you want cheapies.

DatumTarum · 07/08/2023 08:35

Big supermarkets, primark

Basic leggings and a baggy t shirt will do fine.

If you can bear it, I have had decent leggings from Sports Direct but I do have to psych myself up to go in.

Morning189t2 · 07/08/2023 08:35

Matalan

Beamur · 07/08/2023 08:36

Decathlon are excellent for reasonably priced sports and activity gear.
Most supermarkets sell gym gear too - leggings will probably be £20 or less

Hoppinggreen · 07/08/2023 08:36

M&S or Sainsbury’s

Smartiepants79 · 07/08/2023 08:37

Supermarkets. You can’t try it on usually it you can buy and return quite easily.

catsnore · 07/08/2023 08:38

H and M used to do nice active wear basics

vincettenoir · 07/08/2023 08:38

Thanks everyone. Some really good ideas here.

M&S , Sainsbury's both are decent. Sports direct more hit or miss quality wise

DustyLee123 · 07/08/2023 08:38

I get mine from Next.

PrincessPeaches123 · 07/08/2023 08:39

MyProtein.

oviraptor21 · 07/08/2023 08:39

Decathlon.
Much better quality than Primark and Matalan.
Online is fine as it's easy to return stuff if unsuitable.

MossCow · 07/08/2023 08:39

I would say Decathlon too. Mine are from H&M and are good and thick and they have a pocket.

Parker231 · 07/08/2023 08:41

M&S are as good as Sweaty Betty and a fraction of the price

Yeah exercise leggings are out of control.

5 years ago they were £6/7

I had a glance on New Look yesterday (so nowhere particularly fancy) and they go for £15 a pop for a pair of basic leggings.

What a racket.

dementedpixie · 07/08/2023 08:46

Matalan capri leggings are good value and not see through

Edwardandtubbs · 07/08/2023 08:48

H&M, they have the big phone pockets, don't fall down (looking at you, Reebok) and come in a variety of colours for about £17. I'm a 14 and size medium is perfect.

Singleandproud · 07/08/2023 08:51

Another vote for Matalan, I bought some in there years ago as my beach / sea / SUP leggings and they are great, nice and thick, wash well and they still look like new despite spending a lot of time in the water, they are also quick drying so I can drive home without getting changed.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 07/08/2023 08:52

Just to say though that I have two pairs of sweaty Betty leggings. They were reduced but still around £60 but honestly they are a massive investment. I've had mine around 3 or 4 years and they are still like brand new!

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 07/08/2023 08:52

Also I have some next ones and they don't fit as well.

ACupOfTeaDoesNotSolveEverything · 07/08/2023 09:00

Asda gym leggings were recommended to me about 5 years ago and they have outlasted all others with the exception of Sweaty Betty (sale purchase).
