Planks everyday for a month - Join me!

Hello

Does anyone fancy joining me in trying to tone up by doing planks? I've started today with 3x 20 second planks. I aim to build up to a minute each one over the next few weeks. I'm interested to see the results over a few months.

Join at your own pace, if you can do 3x 5 second ones then join me too!!

I started doing a 30 day plank challenge I found via Google but got bored of it. I found I didn't need rest days from doing one plank a day!
It starts with a 20 second plank on day one but I could already do a minute so just started with that which was day 9.
I'd say I've done about 13 days and am now up to 2mins 45secs. I aim to do the same time for 3/4 days then increase it by 15 seconds. I'll aim for 3 minutes on Friday this week. Planking every day definitely works doesn't it!

Hey everyone. Am still here. Have done 3 each day, just some days have been so busy and have forgotten to post to say.
My planks vary in length, but have definitely got longer.

That's an incredible improvement! Do you do additional exercises to bump up your times or is it just a matter of daily planks?

No I do exercise daily. Running, weights etc.
I don't do as much core as I'd like so I've been doing the planking to make myself so at least something for my core!
I am trying to do more Pilates but failing!

I'm still doing my 3 at 35 secs now. This morning or ddog decided to lay across my arms while I was doing them for a cuddle. GrinShe is bemused by me going to her level.

I've downloaded a plank challenge app, only on day 3 but so far so good. I'm on the intermediate setting and it seems to be a good level for me, hard but doable.

that's brilliant have you seen any changes to your middle through doing the planks?

I'm only managing 1.10 at the moment but suits me.

I do a physical job so count that as my exercise the planks will hopefully tone up my stomach.

I forgot to post yesterday but I'm still doing them every day. In fact I've done so many my elbows have scabs so I've had to drag the yoga mat out!!

I'm being fairly inconsistent with the length of time I'm holding them depending on how late in the day it is but I easily manage 45 seconds. I actually feel a bit more toned to!!

@coulddowithanap join us!! The only rule is do at least a plank a day, how long you hold it doesn't matter, just do what you can, when you can, once each day.

Only did one today- 35 seconds..
Will definitely aim for higher and more than one tomorrow..

I was forgetting so I now have a reminder in my phone.
I’m about to do my 2:45 plank. My aim was to up it to 3 mins tomorrow but now I’m dreading it 😬

Your words were a great motivation to me today.
Also having the kids time me- DS10 is always so encouraging- DD3 not so much unless you count jumping around me shouting "two minutes mammy!"
Anyway, I managed 3 x 30 and 1 x 35 today so I'm pleased with that...
Going to aim for the same tomorrow 🤞🏻

I did another 2:45 today. I said I'd up it to 3 mins on Friday, but now that's here I'm not sure 😅

I only did one today (not gone to bed yet), I did walk 22500 steps though so that will have to do.

I (somehow) managed 3 minutes today. I was adamant 2:45 was hard enough, and I felt like I was dying for the last 15, but I pushed through. Happy Friday!!

Managed 3x 45 secs even though I fell off my bike earlier and have messed up my ankle!!!

Day 17 on the app for me - still 1 minute 45. I have started to play Taylor Swift Antihero when I do these to take my mind off it. There’s a yoga move I do which I hold while singing You Are My Sunshine. My DP thinks I am quite mad - but does he have abs of steel? No he does not!

I have been trying to do a complete overhaul of snacking (none at all, as if I have any I need it all) and exercise (Pilates, classes and gym) over the last few weeks, and this thread has been very helpful to encourage me to keep going and do Planks on the days I can’t do more. I like to think it is making a difference already.
