Planks everyday for a month - Join me!

Hello

Does anyone fancy joining me in trying to tone up by doing planks? I've started today with 3x 20 second planks. I aim to build up to a minute each one over the next few weeks. I'm interested to see the results over a few months.

Join at your own pace, if you can do 3x 5 second ones then join me too!!

I managed 2x 1min planks each day for the past 2 days. I really have to push to get the 1min. so I will stick with the 1min until I'm getting to it without the shakes.

it's good to be able to read this thread and gives me motivation.

I find this exercise the easiest to convince myself to do because it's not an inconvenience.
I literally can just decide to do it, anytime, I don't have to change clothes I don't have to set aside an amount of time as it only takes 1 minute then a minute collapsed on the floor recovering

Day 12 on the app for me - one minute 30. My cat was trying to get in on the act so I had to stick with it or I would have squashed her.

Did 3x 30 seconds tonight- v happy with it as the kids were "helping" to time me so was hard to fully focus so I'm happy with that. Will try to go for longer from tomorrow.

2 x 20s only today. I think a real exercise mat might help my elbows, toes and knees though!

3 x 30 secs today. I'm hanging on to the thought that a week ago I had never done one, hoping that a few more days at 30 secs will get me comfortable enough to push on. Dd told me to get my bottom lower today so I guess I have to practice that as well.

Forgot to post yesterday... Managed to get in 2 mins worth. Had a busy day cleaning the garden and patio.

Just been cycling but will get a few planks in before my shower!

Wow, well done. I usually forget until bedtime and then squeeze in two in a row but this morning I did a minute of planks and side planks. Will do another couple before bed.

I feel like it often goes straight into my shoulders, which isn't ideal and may be why I can't improve my time. Today I tried doing some Pilates first to wake up my abs and that seemed to help.

3×1 minute today after a run. Bonus 1 minute side planks after that! 😊

Has anyone noticed a difference?

For me, I've noticed that when I stretch after a run, I don't wobble so much when I go on one leg and hold the foot behind me.

I did a 30 minute body combat class yesterday and could only manage 45 seconds of plank after that!

I had a 0500 shift today so only just got today's in and I'm shattered so just 45secs x 2 today and then 30secs x2.

Great to see so many carrying on with me.

I think I feel slightly more toned but I may be imagining it!! 🤣

I feel ya... Got terrible PMS myself at the moment. Even 1 x 20 secs is more than you did yesterday.

2 x 1min yesterday. It gets harder around the 45s mark, which is an improvement 😀 used to start to struggle around 20-30s.

Blimey... I nearly forgot. Just got out of bed and banged out 1.5 mins in 3 x 30 secs. Best I can do today!!

I have done a yoga class which involved some planks, and cycled 20 miles too, so not feeling too bad about it
