Well amaura brilliant achievements.
That looks amazing giraffeski
A couple of runs to add. Did a lovely long one set off in the sunshine then as I got to the river the sun went in and the wind picked up. Had to run a long an exposed bank in to the wind. But still enjoyed it so much.

Great running @Amaura!
Zebras! Wow!
Glad you’re enjoying your runs @IRun4Me.
First run after covid for me today in the pouring rain. Took it easy, felt fine now coughing like mad!

Steady longer run, felt more tired today but hopefully on the right track. Got a trail 10k in 3 weeks that I am definitely lowering my expectations for!

Wow @emummy I’m definitely not up for running yet!

giraffeski · 13/03/2022 16:34

Back here now, windy muddy run over the Roaches today, no zebras to be seen Grin

Well done emummy on getting out.
One of those runs today where I seemed to be running in to the wind whichever direction I went

Just catching up - a sub 45 min 10k?!?! Bloody hell, think I'm on the wrong thread 😂 that's amazing!!!
Hope everyone had a good weekend!

It’s ok @Cavagirl, that sort of time is well beyond me too!
@Mostlyjustrunning I think Covid didn’t hit me too hard, I wasn’t ever particularly tired so feel pretty much back to normal.
Hill reps today, felt quite good.

Cavagirl that sort of time is something I’m in awe of but could never get anywhere near. I’m more of a happy plodder especially the older I’m getting.
Nice long run this morning as half marathon prep. It didn’t feel too bad.

emummy · 17/03/2022 07:29

Happy plodder describes me too! Frosty here today so cut run short as the paths were a bit dodgy. Beautiful day though. When’s your half @IRun4Me?

OP posts:
IRun4Me · 18/03/2022 07:17

Half is in 2 weeks time. Definitely going for the enjoy and get round somehow approach.
Early evening run with most of it still in the light. Did also think it might be time to dig out the running shorts soon.

Good luck with the half @IRun4Me.
Nice easy run in the sunshine this morning.

Pretty low mileage week again for me as I've been chocka at work unsurprisingly after a week off

Got myself a half marathon PB today as well!
The pacers were nowhere to be seen so I had to pace myself, and I miscalculated the splits and went out a bit too fast.
I was convinced I was slightly behind my previous time until I looked at the clock as I came in and realised I'd taken a full 3 minutes off my HM PB Smile

@IRun4Me I've literally only run in leggings about twice this year, i'm in shorts come rain or shine (or hail or snow!)
IRun4Me · 21/03/2022 08:13

Well done girrafeski on your HM.
The shorts are now out. It’s not a massive difference as I often wear Capri leggings rather than full length. Just getting the knees out. Some of my runs are very exposed and the wind can be so cold that I don’t like to risk the shorts too early. Though my husband tends to wear them all year but he does stick to more sheltered runs.

Congratulations on the PB @giraffeski!
No shorts here today, it was -1 and frosty. Maybe next week…
Intervals this morning, pushed hard inspired by an interview I heard with Stacey Sims about running through menopause. Very happy with my paces.

Oh that’s sounds interesting emummy. Is it a podcast or something? I know it’s definitely making a difference to my running. But it has made me just go with it rather than trying to push myself which I think is helping me to enjoy it and probably benefit from it more.
Lovely run in the sun

Mostlyjustrunning · 22/03/2022 11:24

Well done giraffe on PB! And that sounds great @emummy where did you listen to it?

I do need to fish shorts out but it was -8 yesterday morning 🤣

emummy · 22/03/2022 13:03

It was on ‘Marathon Training Academy’ which is an American one. She has a new book out in May, called The Next Level I think.

Just back from a lovely run in the sunshine, short sleeves and capris definitely the right kit for me this weather. I was meant to be doing a club run this evening but the spring was just too tempting. I did the NRC speedurance session which is a mix of tempo and 5k pace. It seemed to go well once I got started; my warm up route to the place I do intervals is uphill so I always feel slow and sluggish on the way there. Once there it's perfect for intervals though, about 1.5k of flat tarmac path set back from the road with no side roads or other interruptions.

Congrats on the HM PB @giraffeskiGiraffeski, funny how the body seems to manage to pull out a few more stops if it thinks it's behind! Hope your covid clears up fully and soon @Mostlyjustrunning and @emummy, it does seem to be everywhere at the moment.

Gosh, I'm behind with adding my miles!

Mostlyjustrunning · 22/03/2022 21:55

Thanjs @emummy.
Well done @UnaOfStormhold. I shaved my legs today so shorts next time! Running felt a bit more normal today but ket it slow and short.

Amaura · 23/03/2022 13:40

So having only done one run longer than 8 miles in the past two months, I went and did a 15 mile road race on Sunday. I can just about walk normally again as decided to run at a pace that got me an equal half marathon pb. The last two miles were not pretty 😂

Mostlyjustrunning · 23/03/2022 21:07

That’s brilliant!!!
