Morning. Having a bit of a rest for a few days as been running quite a lot over the last couple of months.
Hello to new people, nice to have you on board.
Hope the Covid sufferers recover quickly and you are not too poorly.
I find Virtual Challenges have helped me keep my mojo. Sometimes I don’t feel like going out but getting to the next place on the map spurs me on and I just go out with the thought of it doesn’t matter if I do 1 mile slowly it all counts, then when I get out I tend to go further and enjoy it.
Last of my February miles
498

IRun4Me · 02/03/2022 08:38

Sorry forgot the number by the time I got to this page.
February should be
478

UnaOfStormhold · 02/03/2022 10:35

Nice club run last night - grim weather made much more bearable by good company.

@LuckyLuckyWoman could you try some or all of C25k again to ease back in? And maybe have a think about what you used to enjoy most about running (scenery, company etc) and try to maximise that.

Let me kick off the March tally with 6.3

LuckyLuckyWoman · 02/03/2022 13:37

Hi guys, thanks for the tips. Got out and managed 4.5k in the rain. Found it tough but it's a start :)

emummy · 02/03/2022 17:30

Well done! And in the rain too, extra kudos

Well done @LuckyLuckyWoman. First step is always the hardest

Just some frisbee at work (using as my unstructured speed session) and a short run as managed to tweak my ankle a little. I have three races coming up in March so probably will be mostly resting between them (XC, a relay and apparently a hilly 15 mile road)

12.8

Amaura · 02/03/2022 22:37

With Lucky’s mileage added in as well

15.6

giraffeski · 03/03/2022 18:34

Crap week this week as i'm tapering for a race but also super busy at work so only done one club run and that's it
21.6

emummy · 04/03/2022 08:32

Is your race this weekend @giraffeski?

Doublethecuddles · 04/03/2022 12:58

Sorry have forgotten to my totals up for the week. Good social run this morning in the rain, but chatting so much we didn’t notice.

40.5

giraffeski · 05/03/2022 01:31

@emummy

Is your race this weekend *@giraffeski*?
Yes I have a 9 mile fell race this weekend but really I don't need to taper this much as it's not even a b race in my schedule, it's a combo of laziness and work being super busy as well as the week of the race meaning unusually I've only run once this week and my training plan means I have missed three runs, as really I shouldn't technically be tapering as it's so insignificant a race compared to my main goal race in the summer (Lakeland 100) Grin Oh well Never mind

All will be well 😊

emummy · 05/03/2022 09:11

Well I hope you enjoy it & it goes well. Beautiful day here in northern Scotland, still testing positive so I remain incarcerated for the weekend! Hope everyone has some good runs

giraffeski · 07/03/2022 07:09

Well I only came in 9th lady and won my age category!
Honestly I could have run a bit harder, as I had thought there was another hill so was saving myself a bit but it wasn't as big as I thought Grin

giraffeski · 07/03/2022 07:10

49.5

emummy · 07/03/2022 08:00

Congratulations! That’s fantastic @giraffeski, well done.

Well done giraffeski.
Hope you are better soon emummy
Just a gentle run for me. Going to pick it back up this week.
Did volunteer to help at a half marathon. It’s the first time I’ve been on the other side and I loved it.
Being in one spot and watching all the runners come past, I had the biggest respect for those towards the middle and back. You could really see the pain, effort and determination, especially those who’d been out there for a good 3 hours.

Doublethecuddles · 07/03/2022 14:04

Hope you test negative soon emummy and not feeling too rotten. Well done giraffeski what a great result.

PB at Parkrun on Saturday, just need to take another 4 seconds off and I will be under 25 minutes. Quick run this morning before a killer abs class, I’m sure a 10km would be much easier than the class! . I am determined not to give up on the class, I can only get better!

Mostlyjustrunning · 07/03/2022 18:38

Well done @giraffeski!

How are you @emummy? I’m now day 11 and free! Short walks for a while before I even think about running!

Mostlyjustrunning · 07/03/2022 18:39

Well done on on @Doublethecuddles!

Doublethecuddles · 08/03/2022 13:09

5 mile beach run this morning, 21/2 miles with wind behind me and 2 1/2 miles into the string gusty wind.

emummy · 08/03/2022 14:17

Enjoy your freedom @Mostlyjustrunning! I get out tomorrow

giraffeski · 08/03/2022 18:30

Thanks all! Now out in Cape Town so thinking about stopping drinking some time soon so I can run some point in the morning Grin

Amaura · 09/03/2022 08:01

Well done @giraffeski! and @Doublethecuddles

I had my last XC of the year, it was hilly! 250m in just over 4 miles. Had my best finish yet and our team won first division so I have a medal. I’m not normally a medal person but I’ve never made the A team before.

Have another race this afternoon (team relay). Although I’d rather sleep

(Will add mileage later)

Doublethecuddles · 09/03/2022 13:33

Well done Amuara that is a fantastic achievement, all the training is paying off. Good luck this evening.
Enjoy the break giraffeski

Enjoying the lighter mornings and ran 9 miles part road part through fields. Misjudged the ground and got the lovely sensation of freezing muddy water seeping into your shoes!

76.6

Amaura · 11/03/2022 07:26

Finally done some maths, 27 miles to add.

Second race went well, got target pace despite still being tired from Sunday
