Feeling smug this morning as I got up early to do a Grit Cardio before work. Ended up having to have a lie down afterwards 😂

MozzchopsThirty · 22/03/2021 08:45

@nbee84 hi thanks for the welcome back

I might try the fast burner again, I did about 4 weeks of it before and it was good

I've weighed this morning and it was not pretty!!!!

Maybe I need to measure rather than weigh
How do you know you're measuring in exactly the same place?

I've been doing progress photos instead of weighing because I've hit a bit of a weight loss plateau which has been really demotivating. I've seen some great progress that way over three week intervals.

MozzchopsThirty · 22/03/2021 11:45

@rosettesforjill thank you for that.

Although I can't bear the thought of taking pics of myself at the moment!!!

I watched Dan's goal setting video this morning and have therefore not put weight loss down as a goal

PintPot · 22/03/2021 11:51

I've just started doing Barre after subscribing to LMOD in a fit of gym Body Balance withdrawal pain. OMG. Why won't my legs do that? I feel like Celeste Barber doing an impression of bendy, elegant Summer the instructor but I'm hoping it'll get better with practice...

kittykarate · 22/03/2021 12:41

I'm sure it'll improve PintPot. I started being able to pirouette without falling over a few weeks ago though my scissor kicks were still more like a pogo.

kittykarate · 22/03/2021 12:46

I'm still plodding through the recovery from my hip flexor injury - I did 0.9km of walking on Saturday.

So I'm thinking, my priority is getting strong and stable enough to walk again. Do you think doing a plan like most days doing Body Balance once a week Barre + Stretch#1 Hips, once a week Core + Stretch Hips will help me stay at least mobile? I can't see me being about to do BA or BC for at least a month, even low impact/marching

HermioneWeasley · 22/03/2021 14:45

I started with Core for the first time about 10 days ago - doing introduction #3. I can see the difference, but man alive it is hard! The good news is I can see how I can still get a good workout when I’m travelling as I just need to pack a resistance band!

MsMartini · 22/03/2021 19:21

@kittykarate, no advice or expertise, but poor you, must be so frustrating.

PilatesPeach · 22/03/2021 19:24

My favourite body pumps are 113 which never made the gyms as that was in the first lockdown and 104 in particular is fantastic!

sociallydistained · 23/03/2021 07:05

Grit Strength 25 done this morning. Feel like my clean and press is getting swifter lol.

I am so glad I bought my spin bike now. It is getting its monies worth as aside from the RPM & The Trip classes I do, I am addicted to tacking on a bit of Sprint onto the end of anything I do. For example, this morning I did a 10 minute track after Grit, my heart rate was sky high and increases my calorie burn big time for just a short session.

I also ran Friday night and couldn’t believe how much better I am, as in I can run 4.5 miles without stopping... I’ve never been a runner, I struggle so much but I did complete couch to 5k last year but in all honestly actually doing 5k after was still sooo hard. I think the HIIT on the bike has increased my cardiovascular system ten-fold. It’s the only explanation!

kittykarate · 23/03/2021 08:54

Ooh well done sociallydistained. A GRIT completed before 7am! Hardcore!

BB #88 Flexibility 30 minutes. Hmm.. this had some different moves in it, it was definitely a challenge. But good I guess,I don't feel too sore afterwards, though there were some moves that were a whole heap of nope as far as my hip was concerned.

moiraswigs · 23/03/2021 09:38

@sociallydistained that's great about your running. It makes it so much more worthwhile when you can see the effect elsewhere.

I also did a grit strength this morning (#16), my first one. Loved it and loathed it in equal measure Grin. So many lunges. I think I'll be feeling it later.

One thing I have noticed is that there doesn't seem to be much of a cool down, at least in the few videos I've done. Is that the case and if so, what do you all do for your cool down?

sociallydistained · 23/03/2021 09:38

@kittykarate I think it’s the only time to do Grit because I haven’t got my senses yet so I just do as told. I do it on a Tuesday and Friday before work at 5.45am for my sins! In a good habit with it now though.

Pebbledashery · 23/03/2021 12:09

Hi all :)

Feeling much better this week after having a weekend of no exercise (and naughty food!!)
I did combat 67 yesterday and this morning did attack 108 :)
My barbell and weights should be arriving this week - cannot wait to try body pump!

kittykarate · 23/03/2021 12:25

Oh I'm so pleased you're feeling better Pebbledashery. Sometimes you just need a break to re-charge.

Pebbledashery · 23/03/2021 12:31

I think so too - the fatigued feeling isn't nice at all.
Think I will aim for 5 days rather than 6, no point over doing it if it just makes you feel like you want to give up!

OP posts:
Pebbledashery · 23/03/2021 14:00

OOOOOOOH just got my barbell and weights delivered woop woop!

OP posts:
kittykarate · 23/03/2021 14:59

Woop woop! Now you can snigger to yourself when Glen says 'Pick dick' and wonder if he's wanting you to work on your 'potatoes' in your shoulders.

TawnyPippit · 23/03/2021 15:21

I got a Les Mill weights set for Christmas and I love it. DH has never done any classes at the gym but is now quite partial to a 30 min pump class. I bought an extra couple of weights - the interestingly sized 3.75 kgs; i have never seen them before, we jump from 2.5 to 5kgs at the gym. Anyway, they are a great addition and I really recommend them for some extra variety.

I’m in the last week of Game Changer, having done Fast Burner immediately before. I’ve done every single day, other than 1 days rest when I had my jab and was feeling quite off. I have a dodgy knee so I don’t do the Grit ones, and swap those out for the Sprint HIIT on the bike. Sprint is pretty grim, so I don’t feel like I am getting an easy pass, although the Grit stuff does look very ... gritty!

I loathe BodyAttack; I have to swap out so much because of the impact on my knees. Plus I find the presenter annoyingly perky. I’ve actually got one of those mini rebounder trampolines and do some of the bouncier parts of Attack on that.

wishywashywoowoo70 · 23/03/2021 18:15

2 days off as full of cold. Am so fed up.

Did a huge walk today but feeling really lazy now.

I hope I'm up to it tomorrow

kittykarate · 24/03/2021 09:27

Oh be kind to yourself wishywashy when you're ill. You don't want to knock your recovery back. Even Body Balance is a challenge when you're stuffed up with cold, as you can't get a big breath going.

kittykarate · 24/03/2021 09:32

In a minor win, I can now catch my ankle and do a quad stretch on my bad side when I'm laid down. So there is progress, just boring and slow. I also managed a whole 15 minutes of a Lesley Sansome walking workout (though split into 2 blocks) . I felt like I was auditioning for the Golden Girls, but last week, I could only manage 6 minutes in 2 blocks.

Pebbledashery · 24/03/2021 10:07

I did body pump this morning, one thing I have established is I am a little weakling :D ha

OP posts:
kittykarate · 24/03/2021 10:16

I am such a weakling at body pump. MrKitty moves my loaded bar around the room like it's a toothpick. The biceps and triceps were my nemesis.
