I misread that as you saying you did LM classes in prison

To be tough on criminals they could make them do 2 x GRIT every day. That would teach them! Well mainly teach them to be able to outrun coppers, but you know...

Love the idea of someone getting all hench in prison with LM classes 😄

@sociallydistained that's a great result. I need to lose two stone so I am hoping the fastburner will help with that.

Welcome @moiraswigs - don't worry about combat- I was useless the first few times but I'm getting into it now. I found doing the beginners sessions for each different class helpful. Also do the same class over again a few times. I agree with the others- doing it at home is good because no one sees you looking like a prat when you are learning.

Pebbledashery · 18/03/2021 19:29

I don't care what anyone says. Body attack 100 is the best 😁. The end.

sociallydistained · 18/03/2021 19:55

I did attack 105 today just for purple people eater Grin

Pebbledashery · 18/03/2021 20:27

Oh I haven't done that one yet. Is it a good sweat?

OP posts:
TabbyStar · 18/03/2021 20:57

Attack 105 is one of my favourites. I walked my way through the first three tracks of 102 today as I've knackered my back again (old injury come back though too much sitting I think). At least I did something, though I'm not really walking properly the exercises seemed okay for some reason.

Pebbledashery · 19/03/2021 09:11

Anyone else ever find their workout tough in certain weeks. This week has been so bad for me. I feel so fatigued. Given up half way through body combat this morning could only manage 30 minutes.

OP posts:
kittykarate · 19/03/2021 09:34

Take care of yourself Pebbledashery.

Be kind to yourself, and for the next week only aim at 30 minute workouts, so you achieve your daily goal and don't over tax yourself, you might be coming down with something or are taking a beating because tree pollen season is creeping in.

nbee84 · 19/03/2021 09:51

It's good to take it easier some days, listen to your body. I've just done a recovery ride today, based on my heart rate, and kept it at 75% or lower.

moiraswigs · 19/03/2021 10:08

Did combat number 69 this morning for 30 mins. I read somewhere that it was beginner friendly, got on ok, with a bit less flailing around. Then did a short body balance as my cool down. Feeling a bit more positive today about my Les Mills adventure but guilty, like I'm cheating on Heather! Going to try body pump on Monday morning.

Pebbledashery · 19/03/2021 10:25

I definitely think I am coming down with something, have a banging head ache, feels almost like a head cold (a term which I hate) I try and do 6 days a week but I think it's probably a bit to much, 5 is probably better, a break mid week and a break on Sundays. Think I have pushed it too much this week and have given up my work out after 30 minutes.
I cried after step the other day as I just felt so exhausted. Going to rest tomorrow and Sunday and start fresh on Monday :) x

OP posts:
sociallydistained · 19/03/2021 12:03

@Pebbledashery definitely listen to your body. I am the same, I like to push myself and I like to eat more so I feel the workout 6 days is essential to that 🙈 a month or so ago I really felt depleted, was crying through workouts and decided to have a week off. It felt naughty but I came back to it so much stronger the Monday after. I think it did some good. At the moment I’m back to days and feel okay but I would def take time off again if it got to that point.

PeppaPigStinks · 20/03/2021 19:48

Can I ask for some super nice short recommendations? I signed up two months ago and just haven't had the time to do any work outs! I need to find a way to fit it in but feel a bit out of my depth with all the options Blush

TabbyStar · 20/03/2021 21:02

Do you know what type of exercise you want to do Peppa? Cardio, weights, yoga/core/Pilates, HIIT, dance?

I like Body Attack and Step for cardio, but Combat is v popular on here too for that. Body Pump for strength (you can do with hand held weights if you don't have a bar) or Grit if you like HIIT - that's short, then BodyBalance is a mix of tai chi, yoga and Pilates, or Core - that's a shorter workout anyway. There are also some hybrid classes (or combo maybe?) where you can try out a mix.

I tend not to do short versions of things, I do the 55 minutes but stop when I'm bored. You get to know which tracks work or not for you, but obviously you have to have the time to do them!

MsMartini · 21/03/2021 14:05

@PeppaPigStinks I would keep it simple and short to begin with. Maybe try Core - the 30 mins ones aren't "just" core - involve glutes, shoulders and back exercises and good focus on form, nothing too fast.

And I love Combat and it is a bit less intense cardio-wise than Attack or Grit. You can pick different lengths.

Or try a hybrid - usually something like Combat, Attack, Core, Body Balance.

PeppaPigStinks · 21/03/2021 15:56

I have no idea. I am a 'jogger' and never really got into any other exercise.
I think I might try combat. I think I like the sound of that thank you

kittykarate · 21/03/2021 17:15

I'd start with either Body Combat or Body Attack @PepperPigStinks , neither needs any special equipment and reward enthusiasm. Both have getting started videos to teach the moves, and 30 minute and longer variants.

kittykarate · 21/03/2021 17:19

I did a gentle Barre today, all the easy options and staying at single time. Followed by 15 minutes of hip openers from Stretch #1. Gosh she's bendy, it's good they had a person of reasonably normal flexibility along side her.

MozzchopsThirty · 21/03/2021 17:37

Hi can I join in?
Was on the original thread during first lockdown.

I'm really struggling at the moment, over eating, drinking too much.
I can pack in 5 workouts a week but my diet and alcohol intake means I rarely see any difference

I long to be in that place again, about 4 weeks in where you can see changes and don't even want to eat anything rubbish

My faves are body combat and body balance. Body attack is ok too

Good luck all

rosettesforjill · 21/03/2021 18:01

@PeppaPigStinks I'm also a runner and I like the strength focussed ones are a good complement - Pump is great if you have weights (you could use dumbbells instead of a bar), Core (doesn't need any equipment but a resistance band is useful), Balance (low intensity yoga/Pilates) and the Trainer series (Rachael Newsham is my favourite so far).

Combat is really fun if you would prefer cardio!

nbee84 · 21/03/2021 18:52

Hi @MozzchopsThirty - good to see you back 👋
I've kept up the exercise and combat is my favourite too - I'm having to work around a knee injury so tend to stick to the upper body ones. Like you, lockdown hasn't been kind to my waistline! But a few weeks back when the dates for lifting the lockdown were released I realised I really needed to get my arse into gear!!! What seems to be working for me (8lb down so far, 10 to go) is that once a week I take a photo of my weight and send it to a trusted friend, she's even made a chart for me 😆 Knowing that she'll see if I've stuck to it or not is the accountability that I need.

wishywashywoowoo70 · 21/03/2021 19:08

Just got to week 3 if the Fast Burner. Less than 1lb weight loss but 7 inches off so I'll take that.
I hadn't exercised for months but I can feel
My energy levels increasing. I mostly do combat as it's my favourite and a pump on the weekend when I have more time.

Hoping to lose more inches from my belly(s)
