30 day Ab challenge - anyone else!?

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 24/07/2020 09:47

I have just completed day one of the 30 day Ab challenge. I have started it lots of times and never completed it, so mostly started this thread for a bit of accountability but also hopefully some company!
I have had 2 caesareans in the last 3 years so my stomach muscles could definitely do with some help! I am also disabled following an accident and therefore am fairly limited in what exercise is available to me!! So really want to achieve this

Which one are you doing? Could you post a link please?

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 24/07/2020 10:49

It's an app - this is the thumbnail

Apparently this is the link: apps.apple.com/gb/app/30-day-ab-challenge/id688314031 but guessing that will only work if you're on an apple device

Sounds interesting - what does it involve?

OhMsBeliever · 24/07/2020 10:53

I'm up for it. I'm trying to lose weight and get fitter, definitely need to tone my very big stomach.

RedPandaFluff · 24/07/2020 11:56

Oooooo me! I'm in! I had a c-section in December and although I've started running again, my mid-section could definitely do with some work.

Which level are you doing? I was thinking intermediate, since I do have some fitness . . . ?

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 24/07/2020 12:29

@OhTheTastyNuts It's basically just various ab workouts (sit ups, crunches, plank etc ) with increasing amount/difficulty each day.

@RedPandaFluff I have started with beginner. I probably could've gone intermediate but I'm planning to work through all of them. I'm treating it like I used to do c25k - I could start a few weeks in but I'll start at the beginning to clearly track it

Thanks Littlehouse, I'm in too!
I'll probably go with beginner level 2.

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 25/07/2020 15:31

Just completed day 2! Feeling it already 🙈 Anyone else?

OP posts:
Pirisprinkles · 25/07/2020 16:34

Day 1&2 done!
I can't do bent knee sit-up I replaced them with straight leg sit-up and frog sit-up.

RedPandaFluff · 26/07/2020 07:46

Ugh. I downloaded the app and that's as far as I got Grin

Maybe I'll start tomorrow . . . Monday is a good day to start these things, right?

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 26/07/2020 16:46

@RedPandaFluff Never too late to start!
I've just done day 3, we have visitors today so I hid away in the playroom with the baby giving me odd looks 🤣 I also thought I might finally be getting my period back then realised it was probably just my stomach muscles complaining not cramps!!

Rest day for me today. Feels weird to have a rest day 4 days in and tempted to skip it and move into day 5 but also figured they have put the rest days in for a reason....

OP posts:
Littlehouseinthebigcity · 28/07/2020 09:17

Just done day 5. Anyone else still on it or is this just going to be my accountability journal!? 🤣

TooMinty · 28/07/2020 09:26

Hello! How long does it take each day? I'm doing a Joe Wicks 7 days of sweat thing, and tacking his 7 minutes ab work out on the end. But it's getting a bit repetitive doing the same abs stuff everyday. So could switch to this instead maybe? I don't want to do just abs though, my bum and thighs definitely need work too 😊

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 28/07/2020 11:35

It's not long at all, though I guess will probably take more time each day as it gets trickier. At the moment it's probably 3-5 mins

Hi
I've just downloaded it. I'm a long time past my 2 sections (12 years!) but lockdown combined with menopause has not been kind to my stomach area.

TooMinty · 28/07/2020 12:09

Oh that sounds totally doable, thanks! Will download it but not start until tomorrow so I'll be a few days behind you.

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 28/07/2020 12:27

No worries about being behind, it will be lovely to have some company!

I’m going to join you! I’ve always been underweight but have recently put on 2 stone which I don’t mind but I don’t like my stomach.
I’ve been trying Chloe Ting but work has got in the way.

AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 28/07/2020 12:46

I'm up for it! That other thread about someone being overweight at 11st and 5'4" made me feel like a whale so I clearly need to do something

SlantyBaws · 28/07/2020 13:09

I'm in too! I have diastasis recti and really need to do something.

Have downloaded the app and will start tonight :)

SlantyBaws · 29/07/2020 07:35

Did day 1 beginner level 1 before bed last night. Though I might as well start right from the beginning! Sit ups are impossible for me so I ended up just doing more crunches. Leg lifts and plank were fine. Feeling it this morning though!

I'm thinking I can spend five minutes a day doing this, should be pretty achievable.

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 29/07/2020 22:24

Good job @SlantyBaws ! My sister was here all day today so I didn't get day 6 done. This is normally when I'd give up having missed one so am determined to do it tomorrow and just treat it as an extra rest day!

OP posts:
TooMinty · 30/07/2020 08:49

Just did Day 1 - I can't do sit ups either, don't know what the secret is! Can only manage if someone holds my feet down...
