I did my first 'run' today. Think I'm going to need help to go all the way to week 9 but determined to do it before I hit the big 50. Anyone else started this week? Fancy a support thread? Couldn't see an active recent one.

@mama4321 that 5 mins is between 10-14 for me.
Before that its.. I'm gonna call it quits.
After that.. why wont this end. Why is time dragging.

choc27 · 26/05/2020 13:32

I get to 20 mins and think there is no way I will keep going much longer but have got better at pushing through. I had 2 rest days before that 5k run when usually I have 1 so maybe that made the difference? I also have sore shins like someone else said so I taking another 2 days rest this time as well.

This thread will hit 1000 posts soon so hope someone in the programme carries it on as it's been a popular distraction in lockdown. Thanks for sharing the journey. It got me to the end and beyond. Hope we all keep on running 🏃‍♀️.

@choc27 I run a weekend day and 2 week days.
Eg Mon Wed Sat.
I always find the sat run great. Different dynamic at the weekend and 2 rest days are great

TryingToBeBold · 26/05/2020 16:07

@FallenSkies how is your extended cool down working for you?

mama4321 · 26/05/2020 17:08

Thank you @resipsa for starting this thread. Although I was part way through C25K when I found it, it was a huge encouragement for me, and really good to share experiences good and bad with others. Happy running Smile

It is really helping @TryingToBeBold. I tend to do about 10 minutes now, and added in another stretch too, and the pain has almost gone. I did W7R1 today and haven't felt any tightness today. Hopefully tomorrow will be fine too.
I also tool more rest days last week. Usually I do every other day, but I did Monday, Thursday and Sunday so that probably helped too.
I really would have given up by now if it weren't for this group. Thank you everyone. You are all doing so well and really inspire me to keep at it.

Shall I start a new thread?

GuyFawkesDay · 26/05/2020 18:06

I've out a new thread on.

This has honestly helped me do much. I still have weeks to go and on the days where my resolve wanes, you have all helped so much!

Thank you @respisa! This thread was a great support. Still running 30-35 minutes a few times a week. Grin
