Exercising into a new decade - AKA New Year-athon 2020

Happy New Year! I’m starting a nice shiny new thread to keep track of my 2020 exercise goals. Please feel free to join me.

My goals are:

  1. To do some exercise on at least 250 days during 2020;
  2. To do at least 200 hours of exercise.

Weight training this morning. I'm still sore after Tuesday and I've a catch up class to get through tomorrow too 😫 I'll be immobile by the weekend!

Was doing well until my cat savaged my head while I was lowering into a plank jack push up! DD thought it was hilarious 😂

I didn't feel like cardio today so chose a 45
Min cat Meffan yoga flow and it was so fast and difficult that I ended up feeling like I'd done cardio. Sweating and shaking Grin did a quick lilly sabri abs session at the end.

Grin at your cat Roonetta! If I exercise in the garden then my cats decide to come and start ripping/clawing at my mat !

I had another weights session today (three this week and next to catch up on my missed week). It was hard. I'm starting back into proper weight lifting now, which I haven't done in a few years. My arms are so puny Sad

7km run today. Didn't sleep well and feeling too wrecked after run to contemplate doing anything else.

I also have issues doing push ups. No matter how many on-the-knees ones I do, I can barely do one proper full push up. The tricep push ups I'm ok with though.... Hmm

Couldn’t face Jillian cardio today so did a 4 mile ‘walk with Leslie’. I am really aching today from WO10 yesterday; it really must be working my butt and legs.

I can actually do proper push ups, just not too many. Doesn’t seem to be ridding me of my bingo wings though.

Lots of strength today with my new resistance band plus some yoga to stretch me out a bit at the end.

Sorry you're not feeling very motivated Oubliette. Sad Have you perhaps thought about trying a different type of exercise? I get bored so easily and find varying things makes it a bit easier.

Decorating definitely counts Oubliette Smile. I always have more motivation when I am doing a program. I am sure if I didn't have something to aim towards, I would find it harder to stay motivated. Not sure what I will do when BR is finished in a few weeks, but it will probably be another program - maybe Bodyshred (although I have heard this is ridiculously hard!)

Muscle memory is an incredible thing MotherForkin and you will be lifting what you were in no time.

I am taking an unplanned rest day today. I think all the jumping in levels 9 and 10 have taken their toll on my knee, so giving it a break today.

Hope the knee is OK, roonetta. Mine has been a bit creaky the last couple of weeks so I'm minding it. I think it's probably 3 years since I was doing proper weight lifting so I probably should give myself a bit to get back into it. I did hurt today though so i had a swim at lunchtime.

I had a rest day yesterday and went out for dinner with friends. I’ve definitely been missing seeing people in person (I haven’t physically been into the office since 13 March). I expect it did me more good than a Jillian session!
