Well done @whynot93! I agree, running in the rain is surprisingly good!

Excellent @PhannyMcNee! Slow and comfortable is what I'm aiming for!

W8R2 done. I did proper stretching first (Adrienne's per-run 7 min yoga on YouTube) and I think it made a huge difference. No heavy legs this time. And the lovely warm mizzle was just lush! And I did an extra 2 mins after the 28 were up because I was feeling pretty good. Then I checked my HR and found I was red-lining pretty bad and decided I'd better stop before it exploded or something!

5SecondsFromWilding · 17/11/2018 20:08

So I, a 14.5st+ woman who's never run for a full minute in her entire existence, finished wk6 today. I don't really know how I've managed it Blush I've never stuck to exercise in my life. I don't wake up motivated, I sort of trick myself into going out by putting on my running gear, doing the school run, then not allowing myself to sit down until I run. And once I've started, though I really want to stop and am finding it really hard, I just carry on. Strangely, I've only ached afterwards twice: w1r1, and after the jump to 16 minutes in total at w4r1. It's the fatigue that kills me: I'm really not used to it. But if I can do 25 minutes, I can do 30. So I'm going to finish the program if it kills me.

DomesticAnarchist · 17/11/2018 20:25

Amazing, @5SecondsFromWilding! You're doing so well! You should be so proud of yourself! I'm proud of you!

5SecondsFromWilding · 17/11/2018 20:30

Thank you DomesticAnarchist Grin I'm sure Sarah Millican would be mildly amused to know just how many times I've told her to fuck off Blush

DomesticAnarchist · 20/11/2018 06:33

How's it going, runners? Still going?
I'm starting week 9 tonight. I'm a bit sad it's nearly over. (Which is not something I thought I'd ever think!)

PhannyMcNee · 20/11/2018 08:42

Thought I’d posted last night but clearly not!

Domestic I’m with you - I’ll be gone in 3 weeks. How did that happen?!

W6R3 last night. Felt good and found the cool down walk hard Shock

I did have a bit of pain in my left knee when walking (fine running). Are the clam exercises ok to do with that?

WhenCanISleepAgain · 20/11/2018 10:03

Thanks Domestic and congratulations! I accidentally took a week off. I ran W6R1 yesterday and found it very hard going - was very tempted to give up but kept going.

whynot93 · 20/11/2018 10:15

Week 3 R1 done 🙌 shocking weather conditions here by the seaside but I have found I like running in the rain.

BigFatBloomers · 20/11/2018 11:33

W7r1 yesterday. I can’t believe I can now run 25 mins without stopping.
It’s not fast but I don’t stop.
Need to stay motivated for r2 tomorrow. Monday runs are with a group and it’s much harder to get out on my own.

Well done everyone for sticking with it.

PetraDelphiki · 20/11/2018 11:42

I’ve been floored by flu for 2 weeks so probably back to square one :-(

PhannyMcNee · 20/11/2018 15:59

Oh no Petra - flu nailed me last time I tried C25 too. The downside of starting in the autumn I guess.

Studentnurse92 · 22/11/2018 09:22

Hi guys!
I’m about to go out and do week 2 run 1. I started in May but got a chest infection after finishing week 2 and never picked it back up. I worked out that during week 1 run 3 I covered 3km which I’m happy with! My ultimate aim is to run a whole park run at some point.

I’ve loved reading your posts, so motivating!

DomesticAnarchist · 24/11/2018 08:25

Hey Runners! How are you?

Good work @WhenCanISleepAgain, extra kudos for continuing when you didn't want to! I hope you're extra proud of your efforts!

Well done, @whynot93. I like running in the rain, but only up to a point!

Great work @BigFatBloomers! Getting through that 25 mins is a total game-changer!

Hey @PetraDelphiki, sorry to hear you were ill. Hope you've managed to get going again. Take it steady - you might want to start right at the beginning again but find you can zip through faster?

How did your run go, @Studentnurse92? Well done for getting back on it!

I did W9R2 earlier in the week (glad I checked the weather - it was heinous last night!) and for the finale my running group have organised a timed 5K 😱. I think I can do it in about 37mins, but I'm not usually a morning runner, so I'm holding on to that for my excuse! 😂

I've just signed up for the December Race At Your Pace (I think I saw it on here or on the proper runners thread). I'm a bit worried that without the program, I'll lose motivation & momentum. So I've committed to doing 25 miles in December. Which should be entirely achievable even if I miss runs over Xmas.

And then I'm signed up to RED January too...! Anyone else?

FATEdestiny · 24/11/2018 10:02

Well done DomesticAnarchist! There are C25K Plus podcasts, to keep you going in the immediate weeks after graduating.

I'm signed up for RED January, although most weeks I run every day anyway so it doesn't feel too much of a challenge. But it will keep me on my toes.

I finished C25K at the end of April and am thinking of setting myself a year total challenge. Say 1000 miles in 2019, to keep me going all through the year. I am in two minds how far to challenge myself because if I carry on as I am them 1000 miles will be easy in the year. If I pushed myself I could probably aim for 1500-1800 but maybe just having the motivation to continue rather than a high target is better. I'm not really sure yet.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 24/11/2018 16:21

Thank you DomesticAnarchist - I ran W6R3 today which I found very hard going but again I did it so feeling pleased. Well done for reaching W9R3!

DomesticAnarchist · 25/11/2018 11:30

Just did my last run! Ran for the whole 5k in 34mins.

I might lurk around here a bit longer though, unless anyone objects. Not sure I'm ready to join the proper runners thread!

PetraDelphiki · 25/11/2018 17:31

So it turns out that running is actually good for you - am a lot fitter skiing this year than I was last year!!!

PhannyMcNee · 25/11/2018 20:32

Evening, w7R1 done today - fastest mile apparently! All sorts going on that mean my routines are screwed but I’m doing what I can when I can

WhenCanISleepAgain · 26/11/2018 09:55

Well done everyone! I just ran W7R1 today too. Great if you stay Domestic to encourage the rest of us and to stay motivated - though I’d say you are a proper runner if you’ve completed this and keep going!

CanIKondo · 26/11/2018 10:01

I'm feeling proud of myself this morning. Headed out despite the icy pavements meaning I had to brave the hilly park to run on the grass and managed to complete the C25k + stamina which gets you running for 35 minutes. I wouldn't have believed I could do this 3 months ago. So keep the faith and keep going runners!

youreinacultcallyourdad · 27/11/2018 07:27

Could I join, I’ve just finished week three but really struggled with step up to week 4 so going to redo a three run again and see how it feels. I’m bad at loosing motivation when things defeat me so a thread can hold me accountable

whynot93 · 27/11/2018 07:57

I'm also repeating week three this week! Hopefully the weather doesn't hinder my motivation this week 🙌

PetraDelphiki · 28/11/2018 13:58

I ran 3.4 km non stop (apart from picking up dog poo) this morning!!! Very happy (knackered)

BigFatBloomers · 04/12/2018 23:41

Evening all
I did a damp w9r1 yesterday. Managed a slow 30mins (avoiding the hills). I’ve got a really busy week but I want to fit in a run tomorrow and Friday and then we have a 4K Santa run on Sunday.
I still find the whole thing amazing and can’t believe I’ve got to where I am.
How’s everyone else doing?

DomesticAnarchist · 05/12/2018 09:42

Well done @BigFatBloomers!

I've fallen off the wagon. DH has been working away, so haven't been able to run with the club. And then we've been a bit virusy, and it was dark, and rainy, and a bit chilly... you get the idea.

I managed a pathetic 3.5k on Sunday. Went off too fast and ran out of energy at 2.5k. Walked a bit and ran a bit to try to get past 3.

I expected to lose my mojo a bit. But not this much. 😫

Waiting for a rain cover for my new (but ancient) running buggy to be delivered today. So might get out before I need to pick up DS1 later? (But are the aforementioned rain, cold, lack of motivation!)
