27.87 miles this week!! It's the most I've done in a while, but the only way I can get my little boy to nap at the moment is to go for a walk so I've been doing lots of little walks every day to help him settle.

307.28 in total with 692.72 remaining. There's 23 weeks left in the year which now means I need to do 30.11 miles a week (4.3 miles a day) to meet the 1000 mile in a year target.

I just wish this hot weather would bugger off, I hate walking in the heat. It can stay sunny but if only it was about 9 degrees cooler than what it has been!

Survived race for life it was super hot edging 30c and sadly saw couple ladies collapse. Both DDs did it, one in 34mins and the youngest (6yr) with me we took 44mins as was so hot we walked/ran itSmile all she wanted was an ice cream it made good motivation to keep her going. I also got out early to do hot humid 5k at 6am this morning. I’m really hating the humidity now...
Well done on the walking amy I walked everywhere when my DD was happy in buggy got really fit.

Ski girl thanks, ** I was really pleased! I’ve been doing a bit of speed work recently, doing sprint intervals and also doing a training exercise I had read where you run say 23 minutes one way, then attempt to get back home by 40 mins (so same distance but in 17mins), managed to get my 6km time under 30 mins by yesterday, so just thought I’d try it on a longer run today. I actually run faster if I run later because I’m a bit creaky in the mornings, plus I’d had a coffee today!

I’m tempted to do a race/run in the spring, don’t suppose anyone knows if there’s a sort of ‘hub’ where I can find out about them? All I can find is info for either past runs or ultra marathons!!

You may find different events on here www.fetcheveryone.com/ in their events search bit. Runnersworld have “big” event listings.
I had hoped to squeeze in short run tonight but I’m really struggling with fliping heat rash all over legs and arms Sad and cooking tea the heat brought it up again..so running tonight not an option and DH is leaving at 6am tom for work so I doubt I’ll run early tomorrow when it’s cooler.

Well done bear good distance are you building up to a certain distance?
No running here to report but did a 8k walk with kids yesterday dodging downpours. Just bailed out of wet n windy campsite a night early as weather SO atrocious! Typical school hols... hoping now we are home I can get a run in later in the rain but I’m still nursing snotty cold & hip pain Sad and two bad nights sleep may hinder my efforts!

Skigirl thanks. I’m not really building up to anything, just trying to go further (adding about 1km a month) and also recently I’ve been working on going faster. I am not especially competitive but I am toying with the idea of a 10km race/run in early next year but that’s more to keep me focussed over the winter.

35.43 miles done this week! Not sure how I manages that with the stupidly hot week we've had, but I'm happy!

342.71 all together leaving me 657.29. Still need to average 30 miles a week to hit the 1000 mile target but I'm feeling motivated to do It!

In July I ran 168km (my best month by 8km)
Daily average for July = 5.41km
Total this year - 849.5
Daily average for year = 3.98 km per day

To achieve target of 1000 miles (1609km) my daily target is 4.99 a day (let’s call it 5km for arguments sake)

I reckon that’s a close call but do-able (although I’ve never been a winter runner yet as I started in January on the treadmill- I may regret this....!! )

Spent most of last 36hrs in bed with tummy bug Sad energy slowly returning today but back sore from lying around & missing running. Hopefully by Sunday I’ll have the energy for a 5k. I appear so far to be the only member of the family to be affected....!? Feeling tad frustrated every time I get my running total back up I’ve been knocked back again by life..sigh..

bear your 1000mile target is incredible you are doing so well.

amy well done on the walking your target looks achievable. I’m hoping to get out for a walk tom if I can eat some bits today.
