I got a PB yesterday after no running for almost 2 weeks.. I'm so proud 35.42! 50 seconds faster than my previous PB!

reallyneedmoresleep - sorry I wasn't around, I could have told you a bit about Panshanger although I haven't done it since their inaugural. Friends ran it on Saturday and said the start was 'interesting' with 400 people trying to squeeze through the gate. Did you enjoy it?
Seems like camping was a bit of a theme this week as we were in Suffolk (DD and I have left DH and DS there and will go back later in the week)
DS and I ran Lowestoft - lovely seafront run with one steep bit that you go up twice. We both had our best times for over 2 years and the friend we went with smashed age-grade record for her age so pancakes and waffles were the order of the day :)

Hello [feet]. Panshanger parkrun was delightful. A beautiful course that was one big loop rather than repeated laps; really friendly people and varied terrain. I managed my fastest time since I started running again after breaking my leg.

It was a bit crowded at the start but I'm really not complaining about having to walk a little bit when it's a steep hill!

Most wonderful of all was to see a hen party doing parkrun. They all had different coloured tutus apart from the bride who had a white tutu and veil, natch, and there were balloons along the course which made it all very cheery.

I'm camping in Staffordshire this weekend so we're planning on doing Congleton parkrun. Does anyone know it?

Argh! We're off to wimpole Saturday to try the dog start and see how it works there but it's supposed to be hot hot hot so I'm not sure about taking the dog!! Will stillgo as we've got quite a group going now and meeting some friends but not sure about taking the dog or which one if I do!

Ooh can I join in. I love parkrun. I've got my 50 t shirt and working towards 100 (at 86 so not too far to go). Its a family affair, my husband and 2 children all run too, and one of us pushes the small child in a buggy which is hard work!

I like trying different ones, this weekend I think we're going to try cleethorpes or Boston as we're up that way for the weekend.

I am feeling sorry for myself as have hurt my back so no running for me at the moment. Volunteer rosta is fully covered, so thinking I might walk my local parkrun tomorrow instead. Will be sad if I miss it completely Sad.

Sorry to hear you've hurt your back standingonlego hope its better soon.

Anyone else parkrun today?

Had a wonderful time at wimpole estate. It was hot but thankfully we had a storm a mile in and the rain was wonderful! Really lovely to be amongst friends with kids and dogs at the end, makes me wish even more that my family was a parkrun family Sad

I went to a Manchester Parkrun yesterday, we had a minute's silence and even the many dogs there made not a peep of noise!

I tail ran yesterday - took the baby for his first parkrun, we walked the whole way but in that heat it was a relief not to be running

I've just started running about a month ago and have completed three park runs so far- this running is a bug isn't it? I'm slowly improving and dropping a minute on my time each time so far. Signed up for a ten km in September so hopefully will be running my five km with no walking within the next four weeks. I love parkrun so much / such a great event!

Parkrun no 37 for me on Saturday. It was our first birthday so there was lots of cake at the end. DD volunteers weekly for her DofE and was a VI guide for the first time which she really enjoyed.
Massive storm at the start with lightening across the lake, totally drenched but still a fab atmosphere.

Welcome to the new ones on here - parkrun is awesome :)

Just back from lovely time away. Ran Gorleston Cliffs on Saturday with 5 of us from the festival we were at (2 from Luton, one from Bristol, one from S. Manchester and one from Durham!) and Halle from on here who is usually local to me.
Not quite as good a time as last week but 29:02 will do me nicely! DS ran well too way ahead of me as usual :-o

Lovely to see you Feet and miniFeet. Though to be fair I only saw the back of the mini one. 2 minutes faster than I have ran all year so will take that. Technically a downhill course so if you are in the Great Yarmouth area would totally recommend. And the sea you can run and see the sea. But mainly its downhill with a bit of a run up the cliffs.

Sorry writingsonthewall, I don't know how I missed your post. It would be lovely if you joined and we'll done for getting to 86. I'm
On 136, my local parkrun startedbin march 2013 but I was ED and still am RD so I have also volunteered 60something times in those 4 years. Boston is on the way to my mil's but to get there for 9 we'd have to leave earlier than dh would like so I have never done it.

Parkrunning for the first time in a while (races and holidays in non-parkrun areas!). Going to look odd with running belt and water bottles but am running home afterwards as my longest run before a half so had better be disciplined about not going too fast at the start or I'll be phoning DH for a rescue on the way back...

Not aiming for a PB obviously and last time I did the course I went off way too fast and struggled so it will be interesting to say the least.

I'm volunteering for the first time this Sat. Excited! Last week I stayed behind after my run to cheer others and it was so uplifting.

Buoyed up by two decent times in the last two weeks on other courses DS is on a mission to get his PB down at our parkrun. I have persuaded him to regard it as a long-term mission to prevent 11 year old disappointment Hmm
I am volunteering a lot in the next few months as I want to run my 50th on my birthday in the summer and I haven't got many runs 'spare' - 2 touristing runs and our club's Beginners Course Graduation leave me with one free parkrun between now and mid-August :o
However it looks like I could get to 100 volunteering occasions in that time too (as well as getting on the 20 different parkrun locations list Grin)
parkrun . . . not addictive at all . . . oh no . . . not at all :)

Happy parkrunday everyone.

Happy parkrunday to all!

Weather's looking good so far here in Norn Irn, though showers are forecast for later.

I'm planning to be in Inverness next Saturday, if there's any Scottosh parkrunners around?

Bizarrely enough the hill at the end felt quite easy running a sensible pace at the start. Can't think why...

Will go PB hunting another time when not planning to run another 16km to get home!

Hi all! I finally bit the bullet and went to my local parkrun yesterday. I've wanted to go for ages but never had the courage. My youngest DC is now 10 months old so I wanted to get out doing something.

SIL is visiting so came with me yesterday. Shes a seasoned runner so I knew she would be way ahead of me.

I managed to run over half & walked a bit. Ours is really hilly (2 absolute killers!) but I was so pleased with a time of 35.53. (SIL was only about 3mins ahead of me so I was so chuffed)

Roll on next week to try and get it down into the 34 minute bracket!

I know flightless! It's been so long since I've done something just for me it was nice.

DH came and took the DC to the park while I went around. Ours is two laps and the start of the course is by the park. On the second lap it wasn't so encouraging when my 5 year old shouted 'mummy why are you last?' Grin

You can't really shout back that it's all the DCs fault for being over 9lbs leaving me with a massive mum pooch and no pelvic floor to speak of!!
