For one pointless -excuse- reason after another I get so far and then stop .

This time I have signed myself up for a 5k in May so I have to do it now . I do enjoy it once I get into it and I really want to finish something for once .

If anyone has any hints tips or kicks up the arse spare I would appreciate it .

Week 4, run 1 just done...legs were aching and breathing really hard! I've just started to develop a sore throat though so that's probably not helped!

TheConstantCakeEater · 10/04/2017 21:27

Well done Pink

I'm supposed to be on week 7 but haven't managed 25 minutes since the first time. Guess I will have to get stuck in on Wdnesday.

TheConstantCakeEater · 12/04/2017 20:46

How are you all?

I went and covered 4.5K tonight - only 18 minutes of jogging. Tried to regulate breathing a bit better - 4 footfalls in and 4 out. Worked OK, just don't have the oomph at the moment! Trying again Friday evening.

Howlongtillbedtime · 12/04/2017 22:01

I am on nights this week so have managed bugger all sadly . I am however supposed to be going with my dh to walk / jog/plod the 5k route on Friday so Happy good Friday to me Hmm

Getting the ooomph is definitely half the battle . I am always glad I have been and done it though even if it's not a great run .

Good luck for Friday .

Good luck to you too! I felt a bit more comfortable on my new route so hopefully it'll fall in place.

Howlongtillbedtime · 14/04/2017 12:41

I have been outside !

Was very different and I wish I had done it sooner . It nearly killed me but I covered the 5k circuit in just a tiny bit under 40 mins .

I am still waiting for the moment that I will enjoy it and not just wish it was over Blush

Good luck out there today !

I'm also doing this. I started at week 1 cos I'm massively unfit. Going to do week 2 run 3 later.... hopefully. I've signed up for a 5k as well so need to get training.

Howlongtillbedtime · 14/04/2017 13:25

Well done for getting started . How are you finding it ?

Good luck for later . I am signed up for one at the beginning of May and it is definitely keeping me motivated to get going .

Secret I started at week 1 too as I was (and still am) unfit....this was last July. It's only now that I'm finally getting to week 7! took a 4 month break at Christmas

Not going to get out tonight, but thinking of going early Sunday with DD on her bike for a bit of quality time.

TheConstantCakeEater · 14/04/2017 15:06

Well done How Grin

AntiGrinch · 14/04/2017 18:23

Hello!
I've just done week 2 no. 3. (I haven't been able to do it i3 x a week though because of dcs - I was last running last Sunday. I'm just doing the runs in order even though - seems to be ok so far)

Can I ask what the best app is for iPhone? I want one that I can run at the same time as Spotify, preferably free. The one I have is free up to week 2 and then you have to pay - if you have to pay to run Spotify I will, but what do you all use? and can I get it for free?

thanks!

Pinkvici22 · 14/04/2017 18:40

Hi all....had a couple of days off as I've had a terrible cold. Just done Week 4, run 2, and I'm amazed I found it okay! I'm aiming for W4 R3 on Sunday to get back on track.

secret I started at Week 1 too.
We've been out all day so I'll be exhausted tomorrow, but it is definitely getting more enjoyable!

Anti I'm using Fitness22 10K runner on the iPhone - it works with Spotify but I did pay for it. Totally worth it for me as it's keeping me going.

Great to hear how everyone's doing.

AntiGrinch · 14/04/2017 19:40

Thanks Pink!

TheConstantCakeEater · 16/04/2017 13:03

I went out this morning at 8am with DD on her bike and did 5K in 44mins and 23 of that was jogging in one go. Chuffed that my breakfast of one small easter egg worked such a treat!

I'm sure you won't look any more of a numpty than I did this morning in full day light puffing after a tween on a bike Grin

Howlongtillbedtime · 16/04/2017 16:50

Well done you constant

I think we both deserve some sort of medal for covering 5k without crying Grin

Did you feel it helped having someone there ?

I definitely felt it kept me going having dh there and not wanting to give up in front of him.

Well my plan to do W4 R3 today failed. "D"H went out yesterday and had such a bad hangover he didn't get back in time for me to go out (and there's no way I can run after a huge Sunday lunch, dessert and chocolates)....

Planning tomorrow morning.... wish me luck!

Pinkvici22 · 16/04/2017 19:14

Oh meant to ask, has anyone noticed a difference in their bodies doing this?

TheConstantCakeEater · 16/04/2017 21:08

Oh no Pink... I'm noticing that I need to use another notch on my belt (tighter).

I think it did help a bit but it's almost the only time of me time that I get regularly so that's important. also she whinged she was cold and tired

Howlongtillbedtime · 17/04/2017 11:36

Morning all .

I have been and gone and done the outside thing again ! My dh came with me and helped me with pacing which was fab .

I hardly stopped at all which is amazing and I think I covered the 5k in 38 mins ish which I am really happy about . Was hard work though and I am still feeling twitchy about going out on my own (weirdo)

Night's again this week so I think the earliest I will get out again will be Friday or Saturday .

Good luck to everyone venturing out today .

How that is fantastic....I'm still on the treadmill, but managed W4 R3 today so I'm officially half way!!!

roarityroar · 17/04/2017 14:37

Morning,

Can I join in please? I exercise but am horrendous at running and determined to get fitter and lose a few pounds. I've started on week 3 because my base fitness isn't awful and just finished the third day.

Running the 3 mins isn't easy, I'm surprised how challenging I just found the second 3 minute run, so next week looks like a big step up.

Out of interest, does anyone remember how far they ran/walked distance wise during week 3? I want to see whether I'm doing alright.

Thanks Smile

Howlongtillbedtime · 17/04/2017 15:04

The more the merrier !

Sorry I have no idea how fast I was then but I do know I wasn't very Grin

Well done on hitting the halfway point pink you are doing a grand job !

Hello Ladies

Well done How and Pink

I didn't time/log anything till I got to week 5.

I will go out Wednesday night and Friday morning if all goes to plan. Good luck for nights - I used to work earlies and lates and that was hard enough Blush

Pinkvici22 · 17/04/2017 20:34

Can I ask, do any of you run consecutive days? I was planning to do tomorrow lunchtime and Wednesday night.

Howlongtillbedtime · 17/04/2017 20:41

I used to as sat and sun were always days I could generally manage. I don't think I could at the minute . My legs are buggered now after this morning Blush

Thanks for the good luck . I need all the help I can get.
