For one pointless -excuse- reason after another I get so far and then stop .

This time I have signed myself up for a 5k in May so I have to do it now . I do enjoy it once I get into it and I really want to finish something for once .

If anyone has any hints tips or kicks up the arse spare I would appreciate it .

Well done for giving up smoking boat, it will make such a difference (nearly 16 years smoke free here, not boasting at all, oh no). Managed my 8 mins on Thursday, then yesterday did the 20; slowly, and at times I'm sure I could have walked faster, but did the full 20. Felt brilliant after but achy buttocks today - I don't think my running 'style' is very good; quite ploddy but can't summon enough energy to be springy!

Howlongtillbedtime · 07/05/2017 12:27

Thank you user I did it and I am so chuffed . I am so pleased I have stuck with it this time .

Well done you for the 20 mins . Ploddy sounds like me but I figure as long as I keep going then that's all that matters .

Good luck to everyone getting out there today !

Well done how 👏👏👏

Thanks user I just woke up one morning back in February and decided enough was enough.

I did W6R2 yesterday it was tough because I went out mid afternoon and it was warm. I'm considering doing R3 today but I'm currently still in bed (nightshift).

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 07/05/2017 16:42

Ah a Sunday one! Well done you. Bet you feel very pleased (and so you should)

I done it before I was a heavy weight in 8 weeks I managed 5K in 46 minutes and by 12 weeks I was down to 36 mins

Howlongtillbedtime · 08/05/2017 18:54

Evening all , how is everyone doing ?

I have been feeling very cheery with myself today, I didn't want to take my medal off last night . The official times have eventually come in and I did it in 34.25 which I am really pleased with . I can't believe the difference in the last few weeks . It is still nowhere near easy but I can do it Grin

I attempted w6 r3 this morning but I lost my pace at the half way point and ended up walking the rest. I'm pretty sure the bottle of wine I drank last night didn't help.

I ordered myself some new running leggings and new trainers so I really need to keep at it this time or DP will moan about the wasted money.

how that's a great time! Well done I think you should wear that medal with pride all week.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 09/05/2017 12:18

Hey all, I'm still here and still haven't been out. I did walk 1.5m this morning and will be doing it again this afternoon.

That's a great time How, better luck next time Boat Wink

Boatsnack · 09/05/2017 16:18

My new trainers arrived so I'm going to try again in the morning.

WheresTheEvidence · 09/05/2017 20:55

Week 2 day 2 complete and am surprised that I chose to go out.

13 hour day starting work at 6.30am was so close to lying on the couch and not going out yet off I went!

Boatsnack · 10/05/2017 10:54

Well done evidence finding the motivation to go out is the hardest part.

This morning I did W7R1 I can't believe I can run for 25mins. I forgot to switch my distance tracker on so no idea how far I went but I'm so pleased I made it. My new trainers are so comfy too.

Howlongtillbedtime · 10/05/2017 11:18

Well done on getting out boat and hurrah for new trainers .

And evidence that's brilliant to get out after such a long day .How did you find it ?

How you doing world ?

I am hoping to get out today after work and I am going to have to buy my son some trainers because he wants to come and do parkrun with me on Saturday which feels very cool .

Good luck to everyone getting out and about today .

I'm about to start week 9. I just wondered if anyone who has got to this stage has seen any weight loss? I started C25K in March and I'm primarily doing it to improve fitness but would be quite happy to lose some weight. I am 4 foot 11 and 10st (which makes me fairly overweight). In the last couple of weeks I've started to see a lot more muscle definition in my legs but I am exactly the same weight I was at the start and I'm positive that I'm not eating more.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 10/05/2017 20:51

Hello, still here, still not got out! Have eaten my own body weight in sweet things today long boring story

Did contemplate going to walk the 5K but sat down and ate half a pack of pop corn instead Shock

Won't get out tomorrow either so by Friday if I did make it, would be 2 weeks!

Nick I don't have scales but I think I've thinned out a bit but I am over eating and not got past week 7...March is no time at all though - bet if you keep going it'll soon fall off you! Are you covering anywhere near 5K yet?

Boatsnack · 10/05/2017 20:55

nick I have list weight but only because I'm doing slimming world too so I'm eating significantly less.

Boatsnack · 10/05/2017 20:56

lost must proofread

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 10/05/2017 21:00

Can I join? Just done Wk 5 run 1.

I tend to find I do lose weight when doing it Nick but I eat less on the nights I read n, so that may be why.

Howlongtillbedtime · 10/05/2017 21:03

world sorry you are having a tough time. Did the sweet stuff help ? If not try a Wine Wink

nick I haven't lost weight so much but I think my shape has changed a wee bit and more importantly my confidence has grown a lot so I am looking after myself more and buying new clothes now rather than waiting until that magical day that I turn into a size 10 .

I'm not a drinker wish I was at times

I'm sure I will get there, it just all feels like hard work, but I'm guessing that's just life. Try and muddle through each day as best I can.

Also trying to do more self care and dressing nicely. Have lunch with a friend booked for tomorrow and that is like a free therapy session, so that'll help too.

Welcome King I might have to go back to week 5 after my absence. Will see how it goes when I actually make it out again.

Boatsnack · 11/05/2017 09:48

This morning instead of using my C25K app I set a distance of 4.5km on my Samsung health app and I did it in 29mins. I totally misjudged distance home and had to run round the block a couple of times.

world you'll get there and you probably won't have to go back far. It's taken me 4 years to get to this point and I know it won't take much to tip me in the other direction.

Today I did wk3 r1 couch to 5k and I need to complete it this time !
nickEcave · 11/05/2017 11:13

Wk9R1 done today - yippee! I've no idea how far I am actually running. When I go early in the morning I just do circuits of the park across the road which is flat so probably covering more ground than on days when I have more time and walk to a prettier but hillier location. can anyone recommend apps which measure your distance (I have an Android phone).

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 11/05/2017 11:58

I have a blackberry and DH sorted something called Sportrate Fitness for me (I'm useless with tech)

Less rubbish consumed today. Had a decent breakfast and have soup for lunch. Have to get through swimming lessons/homework and bed time yet!

Howlongtillbedtime · 11/05/2017 12:11

nick I have started using mapmyrun and i am on an android. I really like it.

OP posts:
nickEcave · 11/05/2017 16:14

Thanks for the tip, I've downloaded "mymaprun"

Pinkvici22 · 11/05/2017 16:15

I'm using MapMyRun too, it's great! Between that, the running app I'm following (effectively a C2 10K one), MFP and Spotify...I'm all apped out!!!
