For one pointless -excuse- reason after another I get so far and then stop .

This time I have signed myself up for a 5k in May so I have to do it now . I do enjoy it once I get into it and I really want to finish something for once .

If anyone has any hints tips or kicks up the arse spare I would appreciate it .

Great thread, it is encouraging to hear stories from all the stages. I have started at the beginning having never run before and have just done W3R1. I was so pleased to keep going for the three minutes. It is daunting looking ahead but sticking to the program in order and seeing what happens.

It is hard but I can see improvements in my pace etc and I feel great after each run. I keep considering signing up to a local half marathon which is in October but not sure if I would ever train enough or be able to run that far. It is on my 40th birthday so it feels like a sign.

Hi serenade I've just finished W4 and am looking forward to W5 next week. Keep smiling 😀

ThePerfect1IThinkNot · 01/05/2017 22:42

I must have clicked too far forward on my app as I found I needed to run for 15 minutes, Walk 3 minutes then run 5 minutes today, rather than the full 20 minute run I was expecting. I decided to get up and out running before breakfast and felt (a bit) virtuous all day as a result.

Congrats to all of you working your way through the c25k stages. I start week 7 on Wednesday and am enjoying the challenge, even though it can feel really difficult at times.

Boatsnack · 02/05/2017 10:43

W5 R2 done, it was easier than I expected although my hip still hurts a bit. That's what I get for living somewhere with so many hills. Going to attempt W5 R3 tomorrow as school is off for the election on Thursday. Not sure I can do a full 20 minutes but we'll see.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 02/05/2017 13:56

Hello, feeling better today. Friend and I walked a few miles so might venture out tomorrow night.

Good to hear what everyone is up to.

Howlongtillbedtime · 02/05/2017 17:54

Sounds like everyone is doing really well . Glad you are feeling better world

My dh has just text me to ask if I want to go for a run when he gets in from work . I couldn't go earlier as had to waiting for the plumber so I guess I am going with him .

Still not used to the fact that he thinks I am a person that goes for a run Grin

Started last week and am on day 2 today. Although I haven't really done anything yet I love the sense of accomplishment at the end of each session.

Here's hoping I keep the momentum.

Howlongtillbedtime · 02/05/2017 22:24

Good luck evidence How you finding it ?

I went out with dh and managed to do 5 half k without stopping . Happy with that.

Still scared about doing an actual run with other people on Sunday !

Brilliant evidence, keep it up Smile I managed W5R1 today, but then looked at R2 Confused where did THAT come from?!?! 8 minutes!!! Will attempt it on Thursday, if I get a chance!

Boatsnack · 03/05/2017 11:17

W5 R3 done 20 minutes without stopping, I can't believe I did it totally cheesing.

Well done evidence when I first started I had to repeat week 1 about 3 times and now I can run 20 minutes without stopping.

user I did the 8 minutes yesterday and it wasn't too bad, it takes me a few minutes to get my stride. Good luck 🍀

howlong I don't think I could go out with dp he runs way too fast for me.

Howlongtillbedtime · 03/05/2017 11:45

boatsnack my dh is a great runner , my 5k yesterday took 37 .15 and he could have done it 23 or 24 but he stayed with me and was great at encouraging me .

The story will be very different on Sunday when it is an actual chipped race but that's fine I will run my race and he will run his . And it means he will be there at the end with a hug for me.

That's good that he is so supportive. I prefer to run alone not sure I could run and talk I'm the clumsiness person ever I'd probably fall flat on my face. dp and I never really have any child free time together anyway.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 03/05/2017 15:56

Oh well done all of you. Debated going out tonight but I could just use a cuddle with DH after the day I've had. Guess that means Friday now and it'll be a week then, but I'm clearly in for the long haul rather than doing it in 9 weeks!

Howlongtillbedtime · 03/05/2017 17:47

Sorry you have had a shite day world A hug and maybe a cheeky wine might help ?

The long haul is right . I think I first tried to do this about four years ago Blush
I kept giving up and ignoring it one year to the next .

Hope tomorrow is a better day world

I'm also in it for the long haul I think I've started this program every January since 2014. This is the first year I didn't bother in January and this is also the first time I've reached W6. I've got a different mindset this time round and having given up smoking earlier this year it's the easiest it's ever been.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 03/05/2017 20:14

Makes me feel better then Boat as I'm on attempt two. Well done for giving up smoking. I never did try it (very thankful) but so much harder with food because you can't avoid eating! I'm hoping for some miraculous transformation in my eating habits as I become fitter and the weather improves Blush

Pinkvici22 · 03/05/2017 22:26

I'll be attempting W7, R3 tomorrow! I'm
So desperate to complete it this time after failing twice before

ThePerfect1IThinkNot · 04/05/2017 17:04

Our running club decided we were all going to do Walk 5 mins, run25 mins and walk 5 mins. Just about managed the 25 mins in spite of them choosing an uphill route to start off, although I did walkfor about 10 paces as I reached the top. Feeling good...

WheresTheEvidence · 04/05/2017 20:24

Did week 1 day 3 today despite a 13 hour work day 6am start and starting my period.

I actually feel better for it now Hmm

WheresTheEvidence · 04/05/2017 20:25

I have a lovely space to run around but it's on an incline so every so often I had to run up a hill or climb steps and it actually helped mix up the routine.

Boatsnack · 05/05/2017 09:57

W6 R1 done although I started the middle run a little late because Spotify crashed and I find it really hard to run without music. I might attempt R2 tomorrow if I'm organised enough.

WheresTheEvidence · 05/05/2017 18:16

Wk 2 day 1 done and not as bad as I thought- managed to "run" home from work.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 07/05/2017 06:37

Well done everyone! Did you do parkrun yesterday How?

DS has man flu which means no sleep for anyone so still haven't made it out - always something. Determined that I will finish this though, one way or another (just not today)

Howlongtillbedtime · 07/05/2017 08:57

No parkrun world Saving myself for today .

I have just pinned a number on my shirt ! Shock

I feel a bit sick ....... Please send good vibes .........
