LordPeter I think I will do just do a week of 1 and 2 and move on to 3 and 4, but will have to do the cardio workouts as well as I just don't get enough cardio in in my daily life at the moment. I can imagine that they become very dull though! Maybe it will inspire me to take up running or something, I can't even ride a bike Blush

randomsabreuse · 17/01/2017 23:11

Rest day yesterday instead of today. Today 2 hour dog walk, 30 day fat burn cardio crush, 30ds L2 (wretched v flys!) and currently mid denial on abs challenge - (can't do bloody sit ups, still! - 55 took me 10 sets of 5 or 6) trying to steel myself for the rest - crunches, leg raises, cobra and plank - which I can do. DH still working out next door but has nearly finished so must get on with it!

randomsabreuse · 17/01/2017 23:21

Tell a lie, leg raises are dire too. Do babies kill lower abs in particular?? Might need to splash out on a women's fitness trainer if I can't improve this mess as I just can't do loads of the exercises in most of the videos!

blodynmawr · 18/01/2017 08:19

KBFF done. Routine going well this week so far Smile.

RJnomore1 · 18/01/2017 18:30

Planned rest day here.

Feeling guilty!

DeliciousIrony · 18/01/2017 18:35

Failure today. Did a reasonable amount of walking for work (just under 6 miles) but have felt utterly physically drained since getting home, not sure why. And then I had to wait in for pest control man who never turned up, and all I could be arsed to do was get into a hot bath. So I guess today will be my rest day for the week!

randoms That's quite a lot of exercise for one day, perhaps your body was just knackered by the time it came to the abs and leg raises? Not had children but I imaigne they would knacker your lower abs though to be fair.

OublietteBravo · 18/01/2017 18:49

Just got back from DD's parents evening, and completely lacking motivation. So I'm having a rest day.

Rest days are important! Particularly for building muscle.

Must get on with today's exercise once I've got DD down.

Wouldn't say yesterday was a huge amount for me - 2 hour dog walks aren't unusual and it was at least mostly flat - plus DH was carrying DD. I guess 30ds has some core work but mostly plank based which is not quite such a killer for me.

Will see how I get on today - riding is definitely a bit of a core workout and great for loads of steps too!

blodynmawr · 19/01/2017 07:15

KBFF done.

OublietteBravo · 19/01/2017 19:20

Feeling more motivated today. I've just done Ri30 L2D1 and half of 6W6P L1. I'd forgotten just how tough level 2 of Ri30 actually is. Especially the plank jacks-mountain climbers cardio circuit and the crow push-ups. Ouch. My biceps/triceps will ache tomorrow!

Back on it as well - Body Rev Workout 2, 15 mins hula hoop.

LordPeterWimsey · 19/01/2017 22:13

Body Rev workout 5 done. Yet another failure to get out of bed this morning, so I had to do it this evening after getting in at 9. But I'm on track to meet my target for the week.

Oubliette, RI30 L2 is my nemesis. One day I will be able to do that cardio circuit in plank without either stopping or wanting to die or both, but I'm not there yet! Levels 3 and 4 are noticeably easier.

RJnomore1 · 19/01/2017 22:47

Metafit today.

Are the Jillian michaels workouts on YouTube? I'd like to try them - I have shred with weights, it's brutal...

RJnomore1 · 19/01/2017 22:47

Ooh I forgot

DeliciousIrony · 20/01/2017 07:40

RJ From a quick look, youtube has a few Jillian workouts - first two levels of 30 Day Shred, first levels of 6 week 6 pack and Yoga Meltdown, No More Trouble Zones and Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, and some random levels of Bodyshred. I also find Shred it with Weights to be brutal, it's not my favourite!

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 20/01/2017 12:59

3.7k Weds & 4.1k today so 16.7k this week in total along with daily push ups in an attempt to gain upper body strength...
Cross trainer has just been delivered so another form of exercise to start shortly.

RJnomore1 · 20/01/2017 18:02

Legs session with my PT today. Not feeling 100 per cent still from that virus 😕 But had a good go at it at least.

OublietteBravo · 20/01/2017 19:07

Back to NMTZ today (I couldn't face Ri30 - I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates the plank cardio circuit).

Body Rev Cardio 1 done - fairly disappointed that not only do we have to use the same cardio for each phase, but that it was the same bloody circuit (of 60 second moves) repeated 3 times. Could she not have put a bit more effort into the cardio workouts?? It was fine but I will definitely get bored of that one quickly.

LordPeterWimsey · 20/01/2017 20:49

Biked to work and back (which feels like quite an achievement when it's so cold), and did Body Rev workout 6. Target achieved for this week, though I've had a couple of days of not doing any yoga as I couldn't get out of bed and don't have time for two workouts in the evenings.

Delicious, I couldn't agree more. I did the cardio disc once a week the first time I did Body Rev and I thought I was going to die of boredom in the first month. The other two cardio discs are a bit less dreary because there are more moves in each circuit, so you might want to switch to cardio 2 or 3.

RJ, hope you finally shake the virus off really soon.

randomsabreuse · 21/01/2017 13:23

30 minutes jig yesterday and parkrun today. Still can't beat first local time which is so frustrating as I walked less of the hills. Maybe I'm still faster walking thsn running up hill!

Didn't do any shred type stuff yesterday as spent entire day painting loft conversion room. More of the same today.

All very frustrating as despite cutting junk and doing dry January my weight is stuck and my clothes are no looser. Starting on more definite calorie counting and probably need to reduce carbs... meh - was hoping to really kick start losing weight before I need to up the running distances!

RJnomore1 · 21/01/2017 13:50

Did a kettlebell pentathlon with a 14kg weight allthe way through today, my slightly unorthodox training plan is to up four of the 5 lifts to 16kg next week, then two of them to 18kg the following week, then one to 20kg the week before the competition.

Which sounds okay until you think you're aiming for 100+ reps with no stopping for each lift 😳

Anyway survived today okay so I am now

14/236

Lord peter and anyone else who is bored by cardio, I can heartily recommend kettlebell training for variety and effective cardio. You don't need to do the 5/6/10 minute sets either. Kettlebell snatch 30 seconds on/off is apparently the second most effective cardio after uphill cross country skiing!

Wildernesstips · 21/01/2017 15:35

Yikes, wasn't intending to have four rest days this week!! Did a medium length walk and had a physio session for my back yesterday.

Today, another medium walk. Back on track! I also fell off the dry january wagon mid week. 😢

DeliciousIrony · 21/01/2017 15:54

Wilderness Some weeks are just like that! Getting started again is often the hardest bit, so well done.

RJ The kettlebells sounds seriously impressive, I've only ever tried using them with JM's Shred it With Weights DVD and I only have a 4kg and 6kg bell, which I find challenging enough! I actually don't mind cardio, but I tend to get bored very easily with whatever workout I'm doing, so need to change up moves often (might be why I've never got on with running).

LordPeter Glad it's not just me, I'll probably stick with Cardio 1 as I'm going to skip a week of phase 1 anyway, but glad to know it improves a bit later.

Body Rev Workout 1 done, and an (almost!) 5 mile walk.

randomsabreuse · 21/01/2017 16:53

I don't mind running outside on tracks and paths but normal running around roads or on a treadmill bores me. Parkrun also is good for alleviating the boredom having people to "race". I started mud runs because I wasn't interested in actual running and now am planning a half marathon...
