Another unscheduled rest day yesterday - didn't get out of bed in time in the morning, and then was out in the evening and bumped a parked car on my way home, so had to spend time leaving my details and taking photos - as far as I can see no damage to either car, but I'll have to see if the owner of the other car gets in touch. So instead of doing either yoga or Jillian yesterday evening, I was beating myself up about what a crap driver I am.

However, back on track this morning: Body Rev workout 3 and a session of yoga done. If I do Body Rev workout 4 tomorrow I'll have hit my target for the week, and done quite a lot of yoga on top of it.

Delicious, the resistance band is necessary for all the workouts from weeks 3 and 4 onwards, so you do need to get one (though she doesn't use it at all in weeks 1 and 2, so you can get started without it). It's a long elastic cable with handles: the handles aren't absolutely essential but it's easier with them. Picture here (though it says "currently unavailable"). It's longer than it looks in the Amazon photo.

Flowers for everyone who's still feeling ill.

Still no running for me, 9 days since my last run thanks to this bloody cold. However I've managed 30DS 6x in the last 7 days. I measured myself this morning and was a bit disheartened by lack of inch loss (or weight loss), probably a bit early to expect change. I do feel stronger and am finding the workout easier each day, I just wish there were tangible results already. I'm veeeeery impatient.
When I've finished 30DS what regime should I get next? I'm aiming to do something similar on an ongoing basis, and my fitness is already pretty good thanks to running, so I'm after a similar 20~ min challenging workout.

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 13/01/2017 14:35

4.2k run with a decent hill in there today, so 12.8k within 5 days-think I'm starting to enjoy running against an Arctic wind... Hmm
Really impressed with myself for getting back into it, rest weekend now though as wont have chance to get out.
Back on it Monday.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 13/01/2017 14:40

Hi all, might have to take a break for at least a few days as I have an assignment due in at the beginning of Feb and it is so much work. Really struggling to fit it in so have to spend every spare minute (around real life!) on it. Will see how I go but it I do stop for a bit I'll be back Smile.

RJnomore1 · 13/01/2017 16:06

PT has cancelled on me 😟

Heading into the gym I'm a member of to do something myself, i feel human again and will not be stopped (until the next time...)

Wildernesstips · 13/01/2017 18:33

Brisk 30 min walk done in my lunch hour. Bracing wind but wonderful!

OublietteBravo · 13/01/2017 18:51

Snorfig - how about Ripped in 30? It's essentially the same format as 30DS (only with 3 strength moves per circuit instead of 2). Levels 1&2 are a similar level to 30DS, levels 3&4 are more challenging.

NMTZ for me this evening.

Argh, my calf just popped Sad. I was getting comfortable in a cold wind and at exactly 2km I felt it go. So I had a very cold hobble back.

Glad you're on the mend, RJ. Good luck with the assignment, Stressy!

DeliciousIrony · 13/01/2017 21:52

Very bracing today, well done to anyone who exercised outside!

30 Day Shred L3 + 10 mins on the hula hoop this evening.

RJnomore1 · 13/01/2017 21:58

Bit of a cycle and some kettlebell work, not as much as I would have pushed myself for the pt but probably enough today, I'm still not 100%

7/243

Great to see the number moving again! I'm going to sign up for the filthy girl weekend too, anyone done it? I did tough mudder half last year so it should be fine (says she...)

Snorfig · 14/01/2017 07:49

Thanks oubliette I'll have a look - I have iTunes credit and find it really works for me, having the workout on my phone. Still got levels 2 and 3 of 30DS to get through so I mustn't get ahead of myself 😬

LordPeterWimsey · 14/01/2017 11:01

Body Rev workout 4 done! On my target for the week.

randomsabreuse · 14/01/2017 12:27

DVDs of 30DS, NMTZ, Banish Fat Boost Metabolism and 6 week 6 pack arrived today for when I've finished level 2. Probably should use the DVD as an advert always appears at the end of circuit 2, but I quite appreciate the break!

Yesterday became a rest day, probably not a bad thing given parkrun today - which was fun with snow on the ground. DH and dog appreciated that I think for their walk - nice views!

Then took 17mo DD out for a snowy toddle - not many adult sized steps there!

Ought to get on with 30 day fat burn and 30 day shred before I stiffen up completely now!

DeliciousIrony · 14/01/2017 13:32

Killer Buns and Thighs L1 done Smile

OublietteBravo · 14/01/2017 13:53

A short session today (to keep my hand in): Killer Abs L1

Thai boxing class followed by a quick kettlebell snatch set. Wanted to do push presses too but the gym I train in on Saturdays only has one squat rack and somronecwas using it which pissed me off. 😡

Came home and have tried to cough up a lung ever since so perhaps it's just as well.

Oub you're ahead of me I'm

Wildernesstips · 14/01/2017 17:14

Managed a ten minute run today Grin. Running is really not my thing but I gamely told DS2 that I would do a 5k run with him this year!!!

Snorfig · 14/01/2017 21:32

Despite still being ill (with a chesty cough now) I managed a proper 50 mins of circuits thanks to JM and her no nonsense badass-ness. I bought NMPA for £1.49 on iTunes. It's so hardcore I love it. I'm shaking all over while enjoying my erdinger alkoholfrei :) still hoping to run tomorrow... sob.

EatSpamAmandaLamb · 15/01/2017 08:00

Can I join a bit late? I have been on and off bed rest for the past 3 years but my consultant has just cleared me for slow to moderate gentle workouts (no running) and my physio has finally agreed my shoulder (a separate condition) is improving. I feel ready to take on 2017!

I have to take it really, really slow, so anyone up thread who said they were feeling feeble, feast your eyes on this weak lot. Grin Wink

Aims for Jan:
3000 steps a day
10-15 min on indoor bike per day (no specific speed setting, just damn well doing it)
30 mins beginner yoga video 3x a week
Pilates class with hospital physio team 1x per week

I am desperate to feel human and gain independence and a spidge of strength.

Snorfig · 15/01/2017 09:34

spam huge kudos to you for your determination and clarity of goals. Cannot imagine how tough the past 3 years have been but here's to a stronger 2017 💪🏻💪🏻

LordPeterWimsey · 15/01/2017 09:58

EatSpam, welcome and congratulations on being cleared for exercise! This is a really good thread for support and there's a wide range of goals and levels of fitness on here. Good luck with your targets.

Intentional rest day here for me, back on the Jillian tomorrow. I've got most of the day home alone so I slept in, am going to do my yoga now (promisingly the DVD wants me to have a pillow and a blanket handy) and then take myself out to the cinema and lunch - can't wait!

OublietteBravo · 15/01/2017 10:44

Welcome to the thread EatSpam - good luck with your goals.

I'm feeling quite proud of myself. I woke up feeling tired and achy and a bit hungover. I really didn't feel like exercising at all. Despite that I put my kit on and did Ri30 L1D3 and half of 6W6P - so my longest combination session.

(10h 10min; 13/237)

I'm sure you'll catch up RJ - the only reason you are marginally behind us because you were ill.

RJnomore1 · 15/01/2017 11:34

Hooray EatSpam! When you hit those goals you will feel amazing.

Thanks oub - I am back to full training speed nearly, although I am barking like a seal still. Quite a tough MMA session today followed by a few free weights in the gym and somehow a PB on my barbell push presses.

9/241

I'll be so happy once I get into double figures!!

randomsabreuse · 15/01/2017 12:42

Spam - that's great having clear and attainable goals! I'm so often guilty of faffing and planning rather than doing...

DH has a week of holiday next week so I can spread out my runs a little better which will be nice.

L2 of 30ds was much more achievable yesterday - just had to ditch the weights for the middle of the wretched v fly squats at the end. It's weird how most of the time I can stay with Natalie but for those I can't even stay with Anita and have to dump the weights!

Snorfig · 15/01/2017 13:19

random I feel your pain - my nemesis is the one where you lift weights directly out front keeping arms straight - can't think of the name but I'm sub-Anita on those... my whole body is trembling and fizzing after 9 days of Jillian on the trot including a dip into NMPA. Hoping that's a sign that the moves are working :) I've been in a fitness plateau for ages.
