Same as yesterday: 30DS L1D2 & half of 6W6P L2.

Feeling rather tired - time to eat some carb!

Killer Abs L1 - not feeling up to anything very demanding today. Aiming to bike to work tomorrow, although the forecast seems a bit undecided about whether it's going to rain or not.

RJ, I'm in awe - I imagine I could lift a 24kg kettlebell, as that's about what DD weighs, but I couldn't possibly do anything else with it!

blodynmawr · 25/04/2017 07:16

Hi all, still here Smile! April has not been a great work out month for me, due to the Easter hols, but back at work and the regular JM workouts this week. Did lots of DIY and walking over the hols though so not feeling too bad after picking up the weights yesterday and doing a cardio workout this morning.
Oub you may have inspired me to join you doing 30DS from the beginning, as that is my main fitness barometer!

DeliciousIrony · 25/04/2017 08:03

RJ 17 days is mega, don't feel guilty!

I had a rest day yesterday, and this morning started the dreaded One Week Shred. Ugh.

KanyesVest · 25/04/2017 16:49

7k run last night which was very enjoyable in spite of the freezing weather!

RJnomore1 · 25/04/2017 19:12

Kettlebell fitness

Not loving it tonight!!! But it's done.

OublietteBravo · 25/04/2017 20:16

Feeling really tired, so taking an unscheduled rest day.

Killer Arms & Back L1 done. Now I remember why I put it to one side after I first tried it last year. I dislike this one for the same reason Delicious likes it: I'm so malcoordinated that I can't do the quick transitions from one move to the next and I'm permanently scrambling to catch up. At least I didn't hit myself in the face with a weight like I did last summer when I first tried it.

I didn't bike to work in the end because the forecast was for rain on the way home, and then it didn't rain, which is annoying. No biking tomorrow as I'm out for drinks with a friend after work.

Well done everyone else for sticking with it!

I really, really wish I enjoyed exercise. It's so hard to keep going when the only reward is a reduced risk of being a frail old lady in thirty years' time. What motivates other people? Vanity won't do it in my case: I'm very plain, short, curvy (not a euphemism for anything: I'm an exaggerated hour-glass) and very hard to dress, and nothing I do is going to change that.

DeliciousIrony · 25/04/2017 21:10

LordPeter You do get the impression during that workout that Jillian is in a rush to be somewhere, don't you! No hitting yourself in the face definitely a bonus though...I think that I am largely motivated by vanity, but I do work with a lot of older people with general health and mobility problems which do make me reflect seriously on keeping fit and well for the future.
I suppose even if you aren't trying to lose weight or anything, doing regular exercise probably does something to keep your metabolism boosted, and you might really notice a difference if you were to completely stop? I also generally do feel good immediately after doing exercise, but I know that not everybody experiences a noticeable endorphin rush.

Cardio workout from One Week Shred done this evening...only 6 days to go...

RJnomore1 · 26/04/2017 19:44

I must try some of these JM things sometime!

I am over the moon today. You know how I hate running? Me and a friend from work have been doing couch to 5k we've got up to running 8 minutes (slowly) and went out today to do a run that's 10 minutes 3 min walk 10 minutes run again. I'm timekeeper; at 10 minutes we were both fine so I said nothing n kept going. We ran for 25 minutes solid!!

We could have kept going as well but it was lunch from work so we had to get back.

25 minutes is proper running isn't it?

RJnomore1 · 26/04/2017 19:45

Ooh

86/164

I was so excited I forgot

OublietteBravo · 26/04/2017 19:53

Oh yes - 25 min is definitely proper running RJ

Back to it this evening - just done NMTZ.

That is absolutely proper running RJ - I'm not sure I've ever been able to run for more than 15 minutes without stopping (and would be pretty pleased with that tbh).

One Week Shred day 2/7 completed.

randomsabreuse · 26/04/2017 20:58

25 minutes running is definitely proper! Well done!

Did circuits with running club last night. Been a while since I did circuits - like 15 years when I last did a fencing training camp. Am pleased I can move today...

Today I had a riding lesson - but for a change I had a private working on my position so will probably be broken tomorrow morning - lots of correct sitting trot, which feels a bit like running from the hips up while my legs stay relaxed (new epiphany for sitting trot!). It's a great dynamic core exercise!

Trying to find energy for finishing off 30 day squats challenges I kept ignoring - final days are long!- and some core work before having a decent stretch session to stave off pain in my glutes tomorrow. Should deal with kitchen disaster area first though 😕

KanyesVest · 26/04/2017 22:06

Runners on and leaving the house is proper running to me RJ, so 25mins is excellent. Feels great, doesn't it? Smile

I didn't feel the running love tonight so went for s swim instead in my less favourite pool. The lanes were a bit frustrating, medium too slow, fast too fast, but I did 40 lengths (or maybe 44, I lost track for a bit!). It felt good, I like swimming when I can get around all the faff involved.

LordPeterWimsey · 27/04/2017 07:38

Well done, RJ! I couldn't do that: it's definitely proper running.

Nothing to report here: I'm giving blood today so no JM for 24 hours after that, though I might try to bike to work tomorrow.

OublietteBravo · 27/04/2017 19:04

A cardio day for me: BFBM

Thank you all! I'm still happy but calves are tight - lesson learnt to stretch.

Metafit, 88/163

LordPeterWimsey · 27/04/2017 21:37

Well, I have a very sore arm, so no push-ups for me for a day or two. Most of the time giving blood is fine and painless, and then every so often I meet someone who really can't find my veins and has to spend ages trying. Today was one of those days. So checking in, impressed by people more dedicated than me, but admitting I'm not going to get round to doing anything till Saturday.

blodynmawr · 28/04/2017 07:41

Still JMing; 4 months done now even though April was a bit patchy!
We are away for Whitsun half term, so hope I will stay strictly on the wagon during the first three weeks of May!

KanyesVest · 28/04/2017 17:57

45 mins helping Ds learn to ride a bike, running beside/after him up and down the path through the green. That's fartlek training, right?? My boobs won't forgive me my lack of sports bra

RJnomore1 · 28/04/2017 18:43

Ouch Kanye I feel your pain.

Took a colleague who wants to start running out to do week 1 run1 of couch to 5k then went straight to leg day pt using that as my warm up. Did volume not weight today so as a result major cardio and my legs feel good right now but will be agony tomorrow.

It's all good!

Bank holiday weekend everyone

88/162

OublietteBravo · 28/04/2017 18:53

My DS only learnt to ride a bike last year (age 10). Whilst he was on a residential trip Blush

30DS L1D3 and 6W6P L2D1.5 for me this evening. I'm glad it is the weekend!

DeliciousIrony · 28/04/2017 21:06

Kanyes - sounds like good exercise - I still don't know how to ride a bike, can you teach me? Wink

LordPeter A well deserved rest, I think...I admit I have been put off by the one time that I tried to give blood, and it took ages to find the vein, and then they had to abandon it halfway through because my blood stopped pumping enough out...I'll definitely try to have another go soon.

I'm also glad it's the bank holiday weekend. Day 4/7 of One Week Shred completed, although I substituted today's cardio workout for a run. Definitely feel some good changes to my body, and best of all, I tried on the dress that wouldn't fit 12 days ago and today it just about zipped up. So now I just have to not fuck things up until next week so I can wear it to the wedding.

LordPeterWimsey · 28/04/2017 21:15

Well done, Delicious! Sounds as though the diet and exercise are working really effectively. One Week Shred is the pits, so it's amazing that you've stuck with it this far.

I sometimes wonder if I ought to stop giving blood. I had three people tutting and sighing at my arm yesterday trying to find a vein, and making it very clear that I was a massive nuisance for not making it easy for them. It's bizarre: sometimes I get someone who just puts the needle in straight away with no fuss at all, and sometimes it seems to be like trying to find the Scarlet Pimpernel.
