How frustrating backinschool, but definitely best to see someone.

Hope you found your barcode FiftyNine and enjoy seeing feet, have a great time both of you.

I'm with you on the mud swampytigga, luckily we've got s choice of parkruns and ones much better underfoot that the other.

Enjoy the wedding cinnamon

I haven't run at parkrun for weeks. I'm not sure it's going to be a spectacular effort, I feel fine after my HM but tried a kettle bells class on Thursday. Boy do I have an array of aching muscles in places I never knew I had muscles.

swampytiggaa · 16/04/2016 07:34

I have woken up feeling like crap. Looks like the husband has given me whatever he has had this week :( plus my period has started :(

But I will be heading out to parkrun regardless even if I have to walk some of it. Then I will shower and sleep ;)

MelanieCheeks · 16/04/2016 07:58

Local parkrun for m - we tried a group photo in milestone T shirts last week, but not everyone got the memo. So we'll have another go this week. AND....I have just booked a trip to Manchester to see dancing daughter perform at The Lowry, so I'll be doing Heaton Park on 21st May.

swampytiggaa · 16/04/2016 10:21

Did it. Ran it all. Think I improved my time. Currently sitting wrapped in a blanket drinking hot tea and working up the energy for a very hot shower x

swampytiggaa · 16/04/2016 10:58

Just had my time :) knocked just over 2 minutes off and completed in 33.30 minutes! Woohoo!

Might not move again today tho...

megletthesecond · 16/04/2016 12:18

Nice one swampy. Take it easy for the rest of the day.

We had an unexpected downpour this morning. Not forecast at all but for 10 minutes we ran through driving rain. At one point I started inhaling it, like when you jump in a swimming pool badly Hmm. The heating was cranked up when we got home.

We can't run next week so hopefully by the time May arrives the weather will be much better. I want to start wearing shorts and get a tan because I'm shallow.

MelanieCheeks · 16/04/2016 17:05

Well done swampy! We had glorious sunshine, though there have been intermittent hail showers this afternoon ( make your mind up, weather!)

Did anyone hear how many new parkrunners registered this week?

chutneypig · 16/04/2016 18:24

We had a record attendance today I think, about 10% first timers. I did wonder whether hq will collate them all, I'd be very interested to see.

We had the same weather as you Melanie, they were forcasting sleet but it was beautiful if s bit windy. Just had hail. Wasn't my finest hour, but I got round Grin.

That's fabulous swampy a massive chunk off. Hope you're feeling ok now.

That rain sounds grim meglet

swampytiggaa · 16/04/2016 18:38

I've had a nanna nap and eaten. Will get an early night and hopefully be better in the morning. Having hot and cold shivers which is nice. Bloody husband. Just glad I didn't come down with this yesterday.

FiftyNineOhEight · 16/04/2016 19:04

Melanie I thought I read or heard 14,000 new registrations this week Shock

Well done tiggaa. I love a nanna nap. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

I did find my barcode chutney, I always have spare ones in the car for tourism purposes but didn't need one of those. It poured with rain and possibly even a bit of snow all through the briefing and prize giving, throughout the run and for a couple of hours after. But we had a great time and feet didn't stop smiling and looked really happy Smile. minifeet was obviously taking it easy today as I kept up with him most of the way round Grin. He sped off towards the end though Grin

Hope the wedding was worth missing parkrun for cinners Wink

ThomasRichard · 16/04/2016 19:48

At Luton Wardown again for the 1st birthday run. Despite a reminder email, I completely forgot a hat Blush but loved seeing everyone else's costumes! It was my first time running the new route but as I was doing the new runners' briefing I had a good look at the course map. Boy, do I hate that mild incline hill!

Blatherskite · 16/04/2016 20:28

No running for me. Depression has me housebound :( Going to try again next week

FiftyNineOhEight · 16/04/2016 20:31

Flowers Blathers. Sorry to hear that Sad

FiftyNineOhEight · 16/04/2016 20:32

The hill's not too bad the first time Thomas, it's the second, third and fourth time that it's not so nice Grin. As one of the runners at my local parkrun says "It's just a different kind of flat" Grin

MelanieCheeks · 16/04/2016 20:36

Hugs for blathers. you'll be back, in your own time. X

ThomasRichard · 16/04/2016 20:39

Yeeessss... the kind of 'flat' that has me longing for a hot bath and wondering why I'm voluntarily there instead of at home having a lie-in :o Even the first time!

Flowers Blathers. Been there x

FiftyNineOhEight · 16/04/2016 20:41

The weather didn't help this morning did it. But the cake afterwards was great, I hope you had some. The choc chip and banana muffin I had was delicious!

ThomasRichard · 16/04/2016 20:57

Ah, I don't mind rain, it's nice and cooling!

At the moment I'm so unfit that it's as much as I can do to stagger back to the car. I'm saving the after-run cakes for a time when I'm not purple-faced and wheezing :)

GeoffreysGoat · 16/04/2016 21:52

Hugs Blathers it'll still be there when you're able x

My wee dude flaked out after 2k, we underestimated how chilly it was and he just wasn't warm enough to cope. Poor dh had to carry him back Shock next week he'll be in full leggings and a jumper, is it bad that I'm resisting looking at proper technical gear for him?! Nearest juniors is 20ish miles away, maybe I'll set one up in the local park when he hits 4 - it's about 800m round so 2.5 circuits...

GeoffreysGoat · 16/04/2016 21:53

Thomas the post-run brekkie is the only bit I participate in Blush

chutneypig · 17/04/2016 07:19

Hugs for you Blathers Flowers

We've had trouble there too Geoffreys. I think it hits the small ones harder. I got both mine a thermal base layer set from Amazon DHB I think, that was very reasonable price wise, they tend to layer up over that if needed. DD has a thermal hat and gloves, but her brother hates wearing those so he doesn't bother.

How bad is this hill? Four time does sound like a challenge! I wonder if there's a ranking of parkruns with the most undulations. That's the polite misleading term I see most!

FiftyNineOhEight · 17/04/2016 10:04

The Luton hill isn't really a hill, it's just that you need to go up it 4 times, so you do notice it, especially when you are going up for the fourth time and it's a bit muddy Smile

We also have a hill, which Is a bit longer and needs to be climbed three times.

But both courses are circular, so there are compensatory down hills as well Grin

Panshanger has a horrible hill at the end. Isn't Thursday's supposed to be the toughest?

FiftyNineOhEight · 17/04/2016 10:11

I have had a look at my garmin, and the hills barely register Smile
