This is a continuation of the parkrunning thread where are all are welcome to chat about tourism, tee-shirts, PBs and everything else parkrun (and sometimes non-parkrun) related.

If you have been lurking on a previous thread now is the time to come out and say hello Grin. Like parkrun we're very inclusive and always welcoming to new starters Smile. And we love hearing about new courses we haven't been to Smile

I am going to take a week off parkrun. My body is ruined thanks to sprint training and a horrible aka great hiit class yesterday. Plus I have a bit of a cold. I am feeling a bit jittery not going.

I do like iced buns though. Yum. I can bake but not great at making pretty things.

MelanieCheeks · 26/09/2015 08:35

Probably too late now, but could you volunteer?

standingonlego · 26/09/2015 10:15

Nice buns Grin

standingonlego · 26/09/2015 10:17

Hope everyone had a good run (or recovery morning) today. The sun was out here which was lovely. A perfect morning for a trot round the park

JessieThom · 26/09/2015 10:35

Can I join you Parkrunners please? I could do with a bit of motivation at the moment! I run (quite slowly with a pram) most weeks at my local PR in either Alexandra Palace or Finsbury Park.

This morning was beautiful with the sun shining, I think I love autumn park runs best!

HalleLouja · 26/09/2015 11:38

I didn't volunteer! I rebelled. I sorted out DDs clothes for charity shop / ebay.

MelanieCheeks · 26/09/2015 11:52

Good use of rebellion time!

The buns went down a storm (I cut each one in half), I knocked nearly 2 minutes off my previous Vic-time, met another lovely doggy who was carrying his owner's laminated barcode (genius!), and the sun shone.

Welcome Jessie!

MyBlackCat · 26/09/2015 11:55

A lovely day for a parkrun but I totally misjudged the pace today and didn't go quick enough, when I finished feeling really strong I expected to look at my watch and see a time of about a minute quicker than I ran today, oh well never mind Shock there is always next week.

Still can't work out how I ran such quick times 5/6 weeks ago??

feetheart · 26/09/2015 12:14

Excellent buns Grin

Welcome Jessie

Lovely morning and had hoped to run but we were a bit short so was Timekeeper instead. Fantastic number of PBs, our youngest runner finally got to run with the rest of his family as he turned 4 two weeks ago and he ran ALL THE WAY (there may have been a tear or two in a few people's eyes :)). Lots of happy people and plenty of parkrun magic . What a way to start the weekend Grin

standingonlego · 26/09/2015 13:18

Excited....results just in!

I just equalled my 2nd fastest time ever of 27:00 (run 62 today). The only time I have ever managed sub 27 I set my PB of 26:38. It may finally be in sight as an achievable goal.

Really chuffed and you are the best people to share it with!!!!!

standingonlego · 26/09/2015 13:22

Welcome jessie

blackcat we all have patches like that....mine has lasted about 18 months! I find the amount of sleep I get on Friday night has a huge effect on how I feel (and cutting out Friday night Wine is helping too Grin)

The great thing with parkrun is that there is always next week

MyBlackCat · 26/09/2015 13:51

Congrats lego

MelanieCheeks · 26/09/2015 14:54

I'm sure I saw a table of people who were near the 100 club, and now I can't find it! Anyone know where it is?

cinnamongreyhound · 26/09/2015 17:58

Yay for your ds and good luck tomorrow OhOneOhTwoOhThree!

Fab buns melaniecheeks! Although that could be taken inappropriately Blush

Welcome JessieThom!

How lovely feetheart.

Well done standingonlego.

I ran with our 100club 8 year old today as his parents were at his sisters graduation and his nan agreed to take him but couldn't run with him. He talked the WHOLE way round and we did a 29 min parkrun.

MelanieCheeks · 26/09/2015 18:13

Wow, he's some kid!

My famous buns have been tweeted, facebooked, etc etc, really pleased that they were appreciated.

I done a pome.

karatekimmi · 27/09/2015 06:01

I might steal those buns for the next Bake we do for parkrun!!

Well done lego a great time!!

Welcome jessthom I've just invested in a double running buggy and have yet to try it out!! Im hoping it can just be a double pushchair for a while and a friends partner can pram sit for me while I push the DS1 around in the single pushchair, but at least it's there in case!!

chutneypig · 27/09/2015 07:52

I'm still in awe of an eight year old in the 100 club. I have one eight year old who doesn't say a word all the way round, total focus, although he can talk for his country about drivel the rest of the time. The other eight year old doesn't stop talking, guess which one I get to run with Grin.

Hello JessieThom!

Impressive icing skills Melanie, you must have a very steady hand.

Congratulations lego

I'm baffled how I ever got my PB MyBlackCat. Hopefully next week will be better for you.

That is lovely about the four year old feet

Good luck today ohone. We're just about to set off for our mini marathon but going to stay to watch the first HM runners come in.

ThursdayLastWeek · 27/09/2015 08:10

Hello everyone!
I forgot to check in yesterday.

Hello and welcome Jessie I'm always in awe of anyone who runs with a buggy, well done!

Well done too to chutney and lego and melanie on successful runs - nice buns too Wink

Hello to everyone else, cinnamon ohone halle feet and commiserations to black cat - my PB too is just like a faded happy memory. I have no idea if I'll ever reach it again!

Beautiful morning at Lanhydrock yesterday, I'm still able to run the whole, way as long as I don't go mad. I'm to be photographed surrounded by walking OAPs currently Blush

feetheart · 27/09/2015 13:25

Love, love LOVE the pome Melanie. That's one for the newsletter :)

MelanieCheeks · 27/09/2015 20:06

curtsies

JessieThom · 28/09/2015 09:09

Ahhh thanks Thursday! Our Parkrun is relatively flat so it isn't too much of a slog to push the buggy up hill etc, and on the flat it can actually be quite nice to lean on... like a zimmer frame!

I'd be interested to hear how you get on with the double buggy Karate, I've got twins on the way (only 15 weeks at the moment), so I'm sure Parkrun will be out of the question for a while, but maybe by the time I get back to it I can get DD running and have the twins the buggy?! ...or maybe that's just insane.

Congratulations to all on the runs! :)

ThursdayLastWeek · 28/09/2015 09:37

Aha! Fellow pregnant parkrunner! I'm 16 weeks now Jessie - not with twins though

JessieThom · 28/09/2015 10:52

Ahh great! Congratulations Thursday, how are you finding it so far?

ThursdayLastWeek · 28/09/2015 17:50

Thank you, and congratulations to you too of course!
I'm ok thanks, feeling better now I'm out of the dreaded first tri.

I ran a HM last week though, and my hips are not thanking me for it. I'll be taking it easy this week, maybe a bit if cross training, at least until Saturday anyway Wink
