This is a continuation of the parkrunning thread where are all are welcome to chat about tourism, tee-shirts, PBs and everything else parkrun (and sometimes non-parkrun) related.

If you have been lurking on a previous thread now is the time to come out and say hello Grin. Like parkrun we're very inclusive and always welcoming to new starters Smile. And we love hearing about new courses we haven't been to Smile

Darn it! Got the email alert that the 100 T shirt was back in stock, but being away in Prague I didn't get to the order page in time, and now it's out of stock again!

FiftyNineOhEight · 26/11/2015 20:09

Hangs head in shame. I KNOW it's a run not a race, whatever came over me??? Blush Blush Blush

FiftyNineOhEight · 27/11/2015 20:29

Gah, DS1's claim has expired because they no longer make 10 shirts for his age.

megletthesecond · 27/11/2015 21:05

Basingstoke 400 tomorrow. We may not be the most impressive town out there but we know how to run Grin.

Hope everyone has a good one in the morning.

cinnamongreyhound · 27/11/2015 22:42

Are you sure FiftyNineOhEight, there was a thing on the ed page that wiggle have sent out there standard email that items are not available so the order has been cancelled but they are working in stopping that being sent as it doesn't apply to the club shirts. Hopefully that's all it is.

FiftyNineOhEight · 27/11/2015 22:47

Well DS did ask if feet could fix it for him because she's in charge of parkrun Grin

I will try to screenshot his profile page tomorrow if I can get near it - but it definitely said "expired" - he did his 10 in January this year, but then there was all the stuff with the change in supplier and he didn't get round to ordering it. He needs at least a mens' medium if not large.

FiftyNineOhEight · 28/11/2015 07:54

Good morning parkrunners! Who's running and volunteering today? I'm running this week, volunteering next.

meglet have a brilliant 400 run - wow, you must have been one of the first parkruns after Bushy no?

Blatherskite · 28/11/2015 11:06

There have been a few people complaining that they're getting emails saying that t-shirts are no longer being stocked. It seems that it's an automatic message from Wiggle. I'd double check with their customer services before you write off the t-shirt Fifty.

As I was heading out of the door this morning, DS (8) asked if he could join me if he got ready quickly. He ended up running a 50 second PB!!

ThatsNiceDear · 28/11/2015 11:09

Morning! Absolutely smashed my PB today by a minute and a half! I was dying though, haha (I actually retched - good job I hadn't had breakfast). Some really, really kind runners ran round with me, much slower than they'd normally go, to pace me so I could get a PB. Half way round I was thinking 'I don't like running anymore' but I do, I bloody love it. I love parkrun and I love the lovely parkrunners, what a fabulous bunch of people!

ThursdayLastWeek · 28/11/2015 11:24

Morning all, I had an awful run today, heartburn, constant need to pee, heavy pelvis - you name it, I was afflicted Grin

But I survived!

Well done ThatsNice! Wonderful feeling isn't it?!

FiftyNineOhEight · 28/11/2015 11:32

Blathers the message was on DS1's parkrun profile page - I will try to get a screen shot, and as you say, we can always try the customer service route. He qualified for his shirt before his 18th birthday, but maybe now he has gone up an age category there is some kind of glitch.

Well done to mini-Blathers and ThatsNice for their Bs, and to you Thursday for just getting out and running.

I had to stop for a loo break on my first lap - too much coffee + cold weather not a good combination Smile

Blatherskite · 28/11/2015 11:39

Whoo hoo! DS was first in his age category.

MelanieCheeks · 28/11/2015 12:52

Rotten morning here in NI. I have a list of the times I've run at each venue, so when I feel like a tourism jaunt I pick the slowest one, and hope I can knock a few seconds off. Today I went to Stormont, met a guy I'd met at Derry City (where we posed together in our 50 shirts and got featured in the parkrun UK showcase), and also met a fellow member of the very exclusive I'verunallthenornirnparkrunssoIhave club.
Cold rain notwithstanding, I took more than a minute off my previous time here, which was nice. Even better, I re-ordered the results in age-graded order and was 3rd! Next birthday I'll be up an age category.

Well done minBlathers and That'snice!

chutneypig · 28/11/2015 14:13

That's wonderful ThatsNice. Well done.

Very well done to your DS Blathers.

Excellent Melanie on the age graded order.

I didnt sleep very well last night and just about made it round. DS ran with me and rather charmingly told me he'd leave his watch at home as he wouldn't need it. He had to be hauled out of bed but his sister was raring to go to show off her 10 T shirt.

MyBlackCat · 28/11/2015 15:14

Well done thatsnice

I was so close to not park running today, really struggled to get out of bed when all I could hear was the wind outside and the heating clicking on which also meant it was freezing out.

But I did and I went to the flatter course as I had to go straight to work after. I was rewarded with my second faster parkrun Smile still 50 secs from my PB but my PB is stupidly fast, so much so that I'm starting to believe I dreamt it rather than ran it Grin

sweetvparsley · 28/11/2015 16:09

Afternoon all.

Well done thatsnice a PB is a wonderful feeling.

I was a bit grumpy this morning. I had to stop myself grumbling out loud when some joggers appeared mid parkrun, doing the circuit the wrong way round I mean really, why not go the same way as everyone else even if you're not actually doing the 5k?

I also found I had to make an extra special effort to get round a woman because she had a strange running style that involved flapping her arms. Does anyone else get bothered by such things?

I guess I must have got out of bed on the wrong side this morning.

Good idea about the age graded ordering Melanie. I tried it and moved from 90th to 25th place which cheered me up a bit. I also used my 20% off Sweatshop card to order some new winter running tights which might help

steppemum · 28/11/2015 16:37

well done Melanie, and thatsnice.

only ds an I this morning as dd2 poorly so I couldn't drag her our and make her play in the playground Grin
dh sweetly volunteered to stay home as I have been away so only ran once this week.

I didn't get a pb, but only 10 seconds slower which is faster than was one month ago, so I'm not complaining!

ds moaned about how stiff and slow he was, but came in within 10 seconds of his pb too!

cinnamongreyhound · 28/11/2015 19:12

Well done ThatsNiceDear and MelanieCheeks on your pbs.

Well done ThursdayLastWeek for getting round.

Fantastic miniBlatherskite!!

And everyone else for getting out of bed! Was frost on the ground here this morning.

My last parkrun in the 30-34 age catergory today, was under 29 so not bad but slower than last week.

FiftyNineOhEight · 29/11/2015 12:30

So this is the message on DS1's profile page. I will email parkrun HQ to ask nicely if he can still have a short Smile

FiftyNineOhEight · 29/11/2015 12:30

^ Shirt

chutneypig · 29/11/2015 16:20

I'd read that as he's gone up an age category and its automated. Hopefully they can sort it out.

cinnamongreyhound · 29/11/2015 17:40

Considering he hadn't claimed it because it was out of stock that seems a bit mean to me! At least email if not call.

HalleLouja · 30/11/2015 10:14

I volunteered at SA parkrun this week. I barcode scanned and got freezing fingers. I met a lovely co-volunteer and we had a nice chat....

59 one of our runners came over your way and was very impressed by your parkrun not just cos it is flat!!!. So a few more of us might come and visit too.

MelanieCheeks · 30/11/2015 11:53

What's the crack with this email about "This item is no longer stocked", that I've got re my 100 shirt?

cinnamongreyhound · 30/11/2015 13:58

It's a standard wiggle email that parkrun are trying to stop, don't worry you'll still get it Grin
