Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

edmond that class sounds interesting - make sure you come back and tell us all about it.

Am struggling to get back into the swing of exercising Confused been a busy week and had no time and I can't be bothered tonight. Might start at the weekend..someone come and kick me up the arse Wink

Fullsteamahead · 10/09/2015 18:25

Hello everybody,

Reporting back after four days of exercise. I AM SOOOOO UNFIT!!!

I'm a prime example of what happens when you give up for a while. Back to T25 Alpha and Ive been struggling all week, hurting all over. Also did a fast day on Monday which was rather tough and I ended up with a stinking headache at the end of the day.

However, I'm in a fighting mood and am going to kick my own butt to get back into shape. Another fast tomorrow, hope it goes better.

Purple, I think I just generally overdid it last time, i regularly did 2-2.5 hours workout a day and also stuck to pretty stringent diet of high protein and low carb. I knew I couldn't carry on when my period stopped!

Anyway, my plan now is to stick with 25-30 minute workouts and eat as normal except for fast days. Fingers crossed this will work.

Boobz, I would so love to do Barry's Bootcamp, such a shame I'm so far away :(

Jackster, your gym test results are amazing, well done!

Hello to everybody else (waves)

P.S. The battery in my scales has died so I don't even know how much I weigh. I secretly think it's for the best!!!! Lol

Purpleraindeer · 11/09/2015 06:55

2.5hrs of exercise per day fullsteam???!!! I have the same issue as you and tend to jump in with both feet and then overdo it. Your new plan sounds a lot more manageable. Once you get through the first week the aches and pains will stop. I bet the fitness comes back quickly too.

I did gamma extreme circuit last night. Can't remember when I last did it but am aching like mad today. Weights always do that to me.

EdmondDantes · 11/09/2015 08:29

I know it was called "hands down" but why does my butt really hurt. It was a great class however very girl orientated just 2 guys and 8ish girls. Basically last night class was all about hand stands, head stands, headstand with leg splits and other variations. ( one example: Near a wall in headstand with feet over vertical to stretch the back). It really helps to be flexible because you can get your feet nearer your hands and gently lift one leg one at a time like a graceful gymnast(great core work). However I was having to throw my legs up and looked like a fish out of water flipping around. Girls seemed not to be sweating and yet I was dripping. Would I go back?? Yes.

which Barry's did you go to? City or Euston?

Purpleraindeer · 11/09/2015 13:54

God ed. that class sounds rather scary. Weren't you worried about just falling on your head?
Was the Euston Barry's we went to. City one not convenient for me, but looks like it books up less quickly

EdmondDantes · 11/09/2015 14:49

Purple - A little bit of risk is fine. I did over balance and had to do a forward role. another girl kicked me when we were vertical on the wall.

First picture shows why i suck at this. Need more flexability.
Second is what the class looked like most the time
Third is the feet past vertical wall lean (That I tried so eloquently to describe earlier that i found really tough)

However there apparent benefits apart form being able to teach my daughter how to do them.

Gosh fullsteam - you sound like you got to the same point when I was in Kenya - P90X 6 x a week, PLUS Bikram Yoga 4 x a week PLUS at least 30-40km running a week (and extreme dieting as well). I went too far and hit the 7 stone mark and DH told me to reign it in. I also started a full time job so that put paid to all the time I could devote to working out and put on a stone in about a month! Have been trying to get back down to that 8 stone mark ever since though...

Did Barry's on Monday and Tuesday this week but haven't worked out since as chemo has knocked me a bit. Am hoping to get a couple of Insanities in over the weekend but DH is away at a wedding so will probably struggle with child care etc. Will defo do an Insanity on Monday when kids back at school before hopping on plane again, and am booked in for 6am Barry's on Tuesday!

Glad to hear everyone's updates - keep it up!

EleanorAbernathy · 12/09/2015 08:15

Fullsteam and Boobz - I have also been known to be a chronic overtrainer and undereater, that's why the Body Coach plan appealed to me so much, as it's geared towards learning to work with your metabolism with what you eat and not how much - and it's working, 9 days in and I am now 8 stone 8lb!!!! Despite having to eat so much food I'm struggling to fit it all in, and only exercising 30 mins per day 5 times a week.

I'm slightly worried I may turn green with the amount of spinach I'm eating though Envy

Jacksterbear · 12/09/2015 14:28

Glad you're getting on well with the Body Coach, Eleanor.

Ed that class sounds fun but a bit mad! Shock

Just done my first T25 Gamma. Did Rip't Up (on VK). Ouch - my shoulders! Managed most of it with 3kgs. Dropped down to 2kgs for the first set of supermans/rocketmans, and had to lose the weights altogether for that second set, right near the end, as could barely move my arms by that point! Blush Also modified some of the push-up moves. But on the whole enjoyed it and found it doable!

Happy weekend all. Smile

Weight update

#1 (Mon 3rd Aug) 59.5kg
#2 (Mon 10 Aug) 58.2kg (1.3kg down week on week)
#3 (Mon 17 Aug) 57.5kg (0.7kg down week on week, and 2kg down in total)
#4 (Mon 24 Aug) 56.5kg (1kg down week on week, and 3kg down from total)
#5 (Mon 31 Aug) No Weigh in as missed chemo
#7 (Mon 7 Sept) 56.8kg (0.3kg up from previous weigh in)

Appear to have hit a plateau - need to up my game to get into the 55s it seems..

Purpleraindeer · 13/09/2015 09:37

Jackster - you did bloody well even using weights for the super mans on ripd up. I can't even lift my small weights for those! I've found gamma has made a big difference to the way my shoulders look (in a good way!).

Boobz - don't be too tough on yourself re the weigh in. Didn't you spend the weekend before boozing at a wedding which must have had a bit of an impact. Doesn't mean that your overall approach isn't working.

Eleanor - c&a clockhouse is a blast from the past. I shopped there too (showing my age....). I cannot believe you are now the size you were when you were 16. You should write a testimonial for body coach to see if you get it free!

Did beta core cardio this am. Tried getting up and doing it before brekkie. Felt tough to get going but as expected I feel great now. Must bite the bullet next week and do a before work work out....

Jacksterbear · 13/09/2015 17:12

Purple that does make me feel better. I'd read the review from the dumbellsanddiapers blog lady who was talking about dropping down from 12lbs to 8lbs for the lying down bits, so was feeling quite BlushShockConfused.

Boobz, still good overall progress (and we are currently weight twins Grin).

Rest day today. Planning to try the rest of the gamma workouts in the coming week!

OP posts:
onlywhenyouleave · 13/09/2015 17:57

Sounds like everyone else is doing really well...I have still not started Blush still in my post holiday slump and am finding excuses for putting my trainers on and 'getting it done'. I am absolutely starting tomorrow with a fast day and a T 25 workout.

jackster I don't use weights for the superman/rocketman moves - it is hard enough as it is Grin

eleanor love hearing about the body coach. I find the photos fascinating - the transformation in some of them is amazing!! Really wish I had the spare cash and time.

Jacksterbear · 14/09/2015 16:37

Did you get it done only ?

Tried to do Gamma Pyramid on VK today but the video quality wasn't good and was finding it too hard to follow, so gave up a few mins in. And by that time was running v short on time so did a quick old favourite, Shred L1. Am always a bit taken aback by how hard JM stuff can be (especially with 3kgs) as I have it in my head as being "easier" than ST (it is in some ways - slower and less cardio-intense, but strength-tastic!)

OP posts:
onlywhenyouleave · 14/09/2015 16:46

Not yet Grin have to pick DS2 up shortly but am going to do Speed 1.0 when I get back - think it is going to kill me!!

Shame about the pyramid jackster it is my favourite workout!

onlywhenyouleave · 14/09/2015 19:08

Yay, I did it Grin it was ok but I had no energy in my legs but not sure if that was due to lack of exercise for 3 weeks or because I am fasting today. Anyway, it is done Smile

Jacksterbear · 14/09/2015 20:43

Well done. Speed 1.0 does require a fair amount of leg energy. Impressed that you did it on a fast day too!

OP posts:
Boobz · 14/09/2015 21:52

Well done only - getting the first one out of the way after a break is always the hardest.

Jackster how tall are you? I seem to remember you are similar to me, so we probably have the same body right now (except my boobs will be saggier - if anything good is going to come of this cancer it's some perkier tits at the end of it)

Purple I always feel better for doing the work out in the morning - I haven't done a thing since my 7:10am Barry's last Tuesday due to fatigue, travelling and child care, and didn't even do one today as I went back to bed after kids went to school and DH went to work. I couldn't fall asleep last night for some reason and was awake when DH came in at about 2am having flown back from the wedding, so really couldn't be arsed to see Shaun's mug today before flying to London.

Of course Karma has now played a part, and due to a bit of a booking error, I seemed to have enrolled myself for the 6am AND 7:10am class tomorrow at Barry's! Do you think it is mad to do the double? (on a day of chemo and return flight back to Rome? it probably is, isn't it, but I hate to waste £20!)

Fasters - what do you eat on a fast day? I know you've probably said up thread but am being lazy. I feel like I need to do a couple of fast days to kick start me into the 55s - I still have 6 weeks and 6kg to reach my goal by Nov 1st of 50kg!!

Eleanor - you are about the 20th person to enjoy Max 30 - I really need to get onto VK and download it!

Purple I hope you enjoy your Barry's tomorrow - am going to check out who your trainer is..... hmm - Jay? Never had him - you'll have to report back.

Fullsteam how are you getting on?

Sarahlou and Yumyum - hope you are both still out there DIGGING DEEPER somewhere.

P.S. My new scales have got lost in the post - annoyed.

Jacksterbear · 15/09/2015 11:09

Boobz I'm 167cm tall. Did you do the double this morning?!

Just done my first ever spin class at new gym. Quite fun! Was a bit Confused some of the time but think I will get the hang of it. Certainly worked up an impressive amount of sweat. Grin

OP posts:
EleanorAbernathy · 15/09/2015 16:51

Just done Max:30 Friday Fight - and AAARGH that was horrible!! Felt good when it was over though! Grin Plus I get to eat pancakes as a reward Grin Grin

I'm back at work tomorrow so part way through a mega batch cook of transportable Body Coach meals, the kitchen smells great, but I'm starting to think I may relent and let DP get a dishwasher after all....

EdmondDantes · 15/09/2015 18:03

I did a HIIT class at Gymbox today. Tabata style 3 different rounds with each round being 4 exercises for 20 seconds on 10 seconds off. Each round being completed twice.

Its funny, i beat myself up for not being able to complete a Max30 disc and think I need to be fitter yet by comparison I kicked everyone's butt in there. ( More burpees, squats, lunges etc) I think Purple experienced this when someone asked her after Barry's what she does and was surprised she said "home work out DVDs". It does go to show you how hard Max 30 is if you push yourself. So what I am trying to say is congratulations to everyone. Sometimes working out at home you lose "relativity" to most people. I appreciate that the only competition is ourselves and not anyone else but sometime its nice to have a pat on the back and someone say well done. So Congratulation girls and keep up the good work.

Purpleraindeer · 15/09/2015 18:59

Well done only. The first work out is the hardest! Am sure you'll be back in your groove before you know it!

Boobz - I'm intrigued - did you do your double? I'm impressed you even considered it. If it had been me I'd be begging them to allow me to move my class to another day. I did my Barry's class today. Was a really different feel to last time. It felt a lot less friendly (maybe because I went on my own?) and there were a lot of v grim faced hard bodied girls with most impressive 6 packs. I was better at the higher speeds on the treadmill this time, but still just hanging on for dear life! I didn't care much for jay the instructor. He kept laughing over the microphone at people who weren't doing the moves right which I thought was a bit mean!

Jackster - I did a spin class or 2 a long time ago and enjoyed it. I do remember the copious sweating.

Hope everyone else is getting on okGrin

Purpleraindeer · 15/09/2015 19:09

Cross posted with ed somehow - I sometimes think we should all appreciate how far we've come before we beat ourselves up about not doing enough work outs/not losing weight fast enough etc etc. by all 'normal' standards we're all really rather athletic and fit! Smile Star

Jacksterbear · 16/09/2015 09:14

Extreme circuit nailed tonight (sort off anyway Wink) could tell that I hadn't lifted any weights for 3 weeks...it hurt!!
