Would anyone like to join me in training for a half marathon?

It was a thread on this board that basically got me through the C25K programme a couple of years ago. Lots of lovely supportive women pushing each other on.

Now, I've just started training for a half marathon that's at the end of May. I was a fairly confident runner before Christmas as I was doing 12k on my long run, even though I wasn't training with the HM in mind, but then took three weeks out over Christmas and seemed to lose all my fitness and go back to square one almost overnight Angry. Still not back at the level I was before then but at least I'm feeling enthusiastic again, running 4 times a week (8.5k the longest run so far, though) and I need a goal so I've started a 12-week HM programme and today is the end of my first week.

Is anyone doing anything similar who might like to form a virtual support group and get a bit obsessed together?

Tired knees today after my last 2hr training run before my HM on 11/10.
My route was harder than the course, more hilly throughout the run. I live near the top of the hill (city centre in a valley). The course is mostly along the valley with a downhill start, then back up at the end, so I should be well used to that as all my training from home is either uphill, or having to crest the hill close to the end.

16k/ 10 miles in 2 hours. Pretty consistent running through most of it. Some breaks for crossing busy roads. Slightly faster than this point of training last year. Generally less aches and pains after runs (although last night, I woke up feeling ravenous at 3am!) So I'm optimistic for race day.
I'm hoping to run the whole thing. Last year, I had to walk from mile 10 as I was struck with abdominal cramping. ( I've had less while training this time...) I'll need to remember my buscopan...

Sounds like it's all going well so far MrsMook. It's nice when your training routes are harder than the actual race, gives a bit more confidence. Enjoy that taper!
I am trying to construct a training plan for my 15 mile very hilly trail run in November. It looks very unpleasant, lots of hills and night running! Am a bit scared but determined, and of course, I will need to start shopping for a head torch, rucksack, gloves...

Training underway with a lovely hilly run this on ring. It was 6 degrees but beautiful sunshine.

Done! I was expecting a nice flat pootle around the shore of Rutland Water - and ended it was like that in parts. But the last 5K was all up and down and I really slowed up. Once I knew that a PB was off the cards I had a loo stop and stopped properly at the food/water station to eat and drink instead of doing it on the hoof. Even so, it still feels like a massive achievement given the lack of training and injuries I've been carrying and how hard the course was Smile

Well done OhOne! Sorry it turned out to be unexpectedly hilly. A great achievement to get it done after injury.
