Woo! How exciting to be the last on one thread and the first on another!

OP posts:
AggressiveBunting · 14/02/2015 08:05

Right- 4 from orange makes 859.8 and another 13 from me this morning makes 872.8. Did the 1st bit of a race I did last year to get my head back into technical trails vs the nice forest paths Ive mainly been doing. Beat my time by 15 mins but not sure I'd have been able to finish the race off Grin. Legs were pretty tired by the end.

twobambinos · 14/02/2015 09:57

Happy birthday action

Goodluck tomorrow 5madthings if you go hope you are feeling better.

I have no miles to add from this week at all. Week from hell. And a race tomorrow ?? I'm not in the mood for it now at all.

Everyone else well done on all those miles

Sazorchard31 · 14/02/2015 10:03

I found the article about losing fitness very interesting to read! Having stopped running for 5 mths I suffered lots of muscle wastage, though was also due to not using my leg properly, and also suffered a 5-7min increase on my 5k time. Nearly back up to where I was last April but it's taken 6 weeks. Don't plan on stopping for that long again!

Happy birthday actiongirl

5madthings · 14/02/2015 10:38

Happy birthday action!

I am :( don't think I will be able to run tomorrow as developed stinking cold to go with my cough overnight and I have a temp and ache, feel shit basically. My chest is awful. Maybe I will miraculously recover by tomorrow but Tbh I feel like I won't be able to run for a good few days at least :(

emummy · 14/02/2015 10:38

Happy birthday actiongirl, hope you have a great day.
Sorry you've had a bad week twobambinos, maybe you'll enjoy your race and feel better? Fingers crossed anyway!
2.6 miles from me this morning, great fun run up a hill through quite thick forest, so a challenge not to trip over all the tree roots and rocks! Half way down the other side had to turn back as track thick with ice so retraced my steps. That was fun, flying down steep paths! Was pretty slow overall but very enjoyable. No views as very misty, but very atmospheric!
So 875.4
Good luck for race 5madthings if you do run

familygermsareok · 14/02/2015 10:39

Happy birthday action. A long run sounds like a perfect birthday treat, followed by Cake and Wine of course Smile

Good luck to everyone doing a race tomorrow, hope your knee is fine for it anglaise

3.1 rather muddy parkrun miles from me today makes 875.9

emummy · 14/02/2015 10:40

Oops, cross post 5madthings, sorry you're feeling worse. Sounds like a wee break from running called for. I won't say get some rest, that may be tricky with the madthings to look after! Hope you're better soon

emummy · 14/02/2015 10:42

Ok so 878.5 with my miles, cross post with family

familygermsareok · 14/02/2015 10:42

Oops, x post, should be 878.5

That sounds fantastic emummy, I love those kind of runs.

Deliaskis · 14/02/2015 10:45

Hello, I stuck my hand up to join the 2015 runners thread in Jan and then completely failed to actually run for over a month, but have been today and done 3.6 miles, so I guess that's 879.5.

Can't remember how to bold on kindle version:-S (or do smilies!).

But anyway, I ran!

Anglaise1 · 14/02/2015 10:45

7.5 from me today, very comfortable so I will be doing the 10k race tomorrow. It is a lovely race with a really good atmosphere organised by a little farming village but nevertheless it attracts some very good runners. There is no T shirt as recompense but instead a bag of vegetables. After the race you are given a cup of homemade soup along with the other refreshments.
880.3

Deliaskis · 14/02/2015 10:46

Oh no, cross post as well!

Should now be 882.1

Anglaise1 · 14/02/2015 10:47

Whoops x post
887
Get well soon 5madthings don't worry about your race.

familygermsareok · 14/02/2015 10:48

Another x post, but at least we've got the same total so reassured my maths isn't too bad Grin
Sorry about your chest madthings , it's no consolation I know, but there will be other races. It def sounds like you are best sitting this one out.

Deliaskis · 14/02/2015 10:48

Argh, again! I have no idea what the total should now be, and shall defer to you thread elders to advise!

familygermsareok · 14/02/2015 10:50

I give up, I am way too slow at typing!!

postmanpatscat · 14/02/2015 12:11

I think we should have been on 889.6 plus 5.4 to add from me this morning makes 895

Happy birthday action and get well soon madthings*

cinnamongreyhound · 14/02/2015 12:34

I make it the same postmanpatscat plus a lovely leisurely, chatty parkrun for me wih there and back makes 899

ThursdayLast · 14/02/2015 13:37

Checking in with a parkrun 902.1

TheSkinnyProject · 14/02/2015 14:06

4.5 from me this morning on a muddy hilly trail.
Decided to go for Great Scottish run in October. I'm going to continue to trawl along doing my own thing, and couple of 10ks until May when training will start in earnest! Eek.

Happy birthday action

Total 906.6

Neeko · 14/02/2015 14:30

906.6 +4.2 from me =910.8

I have just confirmed for myself that I am able to run better and longer when I don't feel under pressure to get back to my life. I set out to run further than 5k and not only did it but ran at my fastest average pace ever! Feeling very pleased with myself.

Happy birthday from me too, Action. Smile

Neeko · 14/02/2015 14:37

Just read back.
Hope you are ok 2bambinos. Maybe a run will help?

5madthings hope you feel better soon

Good luck to all those running tomorrow.

karatekimmi · 14/02/2015 15:02

913.9 with my slow parkrun this morning! I hope not to lose all my
Fitness when I have super-mini-kimmi. I tried to do c25k but found it far to easy (as I ran before) and managed a 30 slow run

Sorelip · 14/02/2015 15:12

917.85

I've had two weeks off running due to laziness and illness. Ive also discovered that I'm expecting DC3. Having never run a HM before and being around 17 weeks gone on race day, would I be mad to attempt it?

clary · 14/02/2015 15:34

4.8 miles today, up a loooong hill that I don't tackle as often as I should takes us to 922.45

I need to up my miles - have looked and I can easily take today's run to 6.5m/10k so I think I need to add in that loop before the end of Feb :)

Doing a xc 12.5k round a local reservoir (scenic but rather hilly) in May, further than I have run
