Woo! How exciting to be the last on one thread and the first on another!

OP posts:
Tiredemma · 11/02/2015 19:19

I forgot to add my pathetic 2.5 miles yesterday. Seriously felt like I was running with weights in my legs.

I'm due 6th April actiongirl1978, just got a club email for a 10mile race I did last year on 5th may which made me sad and my favourite 10k is 20something of March which lots of my canicross club are doing and I haven't done it with a dog yet :( I know there's loads of time and it's so worth it this was a VERY much wanted baby but I miss it!

Neeko · 11/02/2015 20:34

Wow Cinnamon. I'm in awe of your running at 7 months. By your stage both times I was a beached whale sat on the sofa possibly why I never regained my figure Blush

familygermsareok · 11/02/2015 21:01

I think it's brilliant you are running at all at this stage cinnamon. I remember waddling and being breathless and knackered accompanying DH round the golf course, running would have been totally beyond me. You will be out running with the buggy and racing again in no time Smile

Well done to all who got into GNR and fingers crossed for next year for those that didn't.

Good luck on Sunday madthings.

No run for me again today, just no free time. Trying to motivate myself to get up really early tomorrow but that means going to bed early and not watching the next crucial episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer ( my sis bought me the box set and whole family are hooked now!)

postmanpatscat · 11/02/2015 21:06

Nope, no consolation at all. Haven't heard from DP yet as he's out til God knows when even though he said he wouldn't stay long so maybe he got a place even though I didn't. If so, I will investigate a charity place If not, we are on to Plan C, which I haven't actually thought of yet!

5madthings · 11/02/2015 21:13

cinnamon you are bloody amazing still running. Will you get a running buggy once baby is big enough, I think the have to be 6mths?

I haven't managed to run today with madhting4 home poorly and he has got worse as day has gone on sp not looking hopeful he will be at school tomorrow abd mrmadthing was late home abd dinner was alternative etc so it just hasn't happened. I am incredibly grumpy about it! Hopefully I will get out tomorrow even if it's not till late.

Sazorchard31 · 11/02/2015 21:34

I forced myself to run 10ktonight and now feel exhausted! At 3miles I was ready to stop but I was still 2 miles from home. Then instead of running home I added an extra mile loop on...took a lot of willpower not to run home!

Very pleased with myself, longest run since last May and means i can manage the 10k I've signed up for in 2 weeks.

729.9 +6.2= 736.1

ThursdayLast · 11/02/2015 21:44

So my plan is
10 miles in June
10k in August
HM in Sept

(And successfully delay thinking about whether I can handle having another baby for 12mo Grin)

cinnamongreyhound · 11/02/2015 21:59

Thank you all, I know I'm being silly!

No I wont 5madthings, because I'm planning to go straight back to working 3 weeks after the baby is born (childminder so not leaving him) I wont be able to run any time when Dh is at work anyway so I will just leave the baby with him once I get back into it. My mum has made comments about me running around the forest with 'the poor thing strapped to me'! She was very against my sling with ds2, even walking but with ds1 3.5 walking or on buggy board and 2 mindees in double buggy I didn't have a lot of choice and he was happy.

Off to bed now as I'm running at 6am Grin

Sazorchard31 · 11/02/2015 22:02

Cinnamon I have no idea how you are still running so late on! It's great. You'll be super fit ready for pushing baby out!! How much longer are you keeping going?

HesterShaw · 11/02/2015 22:23

Thursday brilliant! Will you do it? It's not too hilly round there either!

cinnamongreyhound · 11/02/2015 22:25

I don't have a plan Sazorchard31, while I still feel comfortable and have people willing to run at my slower pace I'll keep going. I will be at parkrun no matter what, whether it's as a walker or volunteer I don't plan to have many Saturday's off and the rest will be wait and see Confused

ThursdayLast · 11/02/2015 22:30

My running bud and I are trying to work out a way to go to the inaugural - it's the only bloody weekend DP can't look after DS because it's his stag! And my friends husband will be going with him doh!

ThursdayLast · 11/02/2015 22:41

You have to come too Hester!

HesterShaw · 11/02/2015 22:44

March 28th? OK I have time to Get Good by then don't I? I am confident I can do it, other than these wretched gut cramps that keep plaguing me. I only did a shorter run so that I wouldn't be too far from home at any point, but they still struck as I finished. I'm a bit nervous of it happening in an actual organised affair.

beanandspud · 11/02/2015 22:49

Only 2.5 to add here so 738.6.

ThursdayLast · 11/02/2015 22:50

That sounds really annoying Hester I'm sorry that it's plaguing you so.

Well, I'll keep you posted as to when we can make it - but don't worry about Getting Good. The point of parkrun is to get everyone involved Smile
I'd love to help introduce to the joys whenever you're ready.

ThursdayLast · 11/02/2015 22:51

Oh and I just signed up to Truro half in Sept so I cannot wimp out like I did last year!

HesterShaw · 11/02/2015 22:56

Thanks Thursday :)

HesterShaw · 11/02/2015 23:01

Just looked at the route! I used to cycle that way when I lived up there. Very pretty, especially the bit round Cowlands Creek.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 11/02/2015 23:03

Hester, in case it makes you feel better I will share this with you.

Our parkrun is 2.5 laps. On the other side the park from the start you will find our local swimming baths/gym. It is quite entertaining to hear the body pump instructor barking instructions via a loudspeaker as you run past the studio and thank your lucky stars that you are not in there with her even though you are going uphill at that point.

I - and other parkrunners I hasten to add - have been known to veer off from the parkrun route into the baths to use the toilet half way through, before catching up with the tail runner and continuing to the finish Blush Grin. You don't tend to PB that week, but it's better than feeling awful.

Well done Saz, and Cinnamon you are awesome!

Thursday I like your plans Smile

Commiserations postman

HesterShaw · 11/02/2015 23:09

Thanks OhOne! It's not so much that I need the loo, but just cramping belly that makes me want to curl up with a hot water bottle. I guess running round the course with one strapped to my middle would raise a couple of eyebrows? :)

Right! Enough of this talk. Tomorrow morning I will head out without having eating or drinking anything other than a few sips of water and see what happens.

EdithDickie · 12/02/2015 01:38

Ah found you Grin !

11 miles for me this afternoon. Longest ever run and I am feeling pretty bloody brilliant about it! Good pace for me too (11:03). I took in a big chunk of the route of the hm I am doing in April which was good to see. Now struggling to sleep though as legs so tired and I am starving! Time for a midnight feast Smile

EdithDickie · 12/02/2015 01:38

itsveryyou · 12/02/2015 02:37

I've been training for my first HM since October, it's on March 1st and I'm beginning to seriously worry about being able to complete the distance. I run three times a week, 5 or 6 miles twice, then a longer one of about 8 but haven't gone further than that, with only a couple of week to go I'm now feeling overwhelmingly under-prepared! Anyone have any advice about what to eat before race day, and general advice about just keeping going through the event? I'm not going to break any records, but I would like to finish without keeling over. We're in south USA, weather forecast around 60 and sunny. Should I carry water or grab it at water stations? How can I avoid needed to pee en route? Argh! Help!
