Woo! How exciting to be the last on one thread and the first on another!

OP posts:

Hi everyone, just catching up.

I have 8.1 miles the add from Thursday, 3 at lunchtime and the rest after work.

Also suffering with piriformis Suzanne. Am stretching and rollering and have benched myself (and I so want to run Sad). Going to rest all weekend and try a short run on Monday. I know it's best as I was getting knee pain from the odd gait I had adopted to allow for the arse pain and stiffness and I really can't actually break.... so this rest had better work!

Happy running to everyone out this weekend.

emummy · 07/03/2015 07:41

Oh dear Edith, you too!
Will go to classes Suzanne as haven't done any yoga for years so would like to get it right.

Suzannewithaplan · 07/03/2015 09:01

The pain in the arse sure is a pain in the arse!
Today for me is cycling and leg session in ?the gym, I'm going to be super careful and stick to therapeutic stuff to see if I can sort of work on it a bit.

When I started running yesterday I had the pain on both sides and then it switched to one side only, it doesnt seem to have been made worse by the running.

Very confusing ?Confused

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/03/2015 11:32

291.98 + 5.99 today = 297.97

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/03/2015 11:33

Plus Edith's 8.1 = 306.07 (I think Confused)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/03/2015 11:34

emummy there are some good yoga for runners sequences on YouTube.

PoppyShakespeare · 07/03/2015 11:44

(mitchyinge in another new guise) I have 7 hard earned miles to add for March so far - was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid recently which explains why running and any sort of exertion was becoming extremely hard work, hopefully will start levelling out soon

306.07 + 7 = 313.07

cinnamongreyhound · 07/03/2015 11:55

I tail ran at parkrun today so 3.1 miles but not all running so not sure whether to add or not! Got the last two people to a pb by encouraging the boy to run to certain points and try to keep him going!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/03/2015 11:59

Welcome back Poppy I was just wondering where you were the other day Smile

Well done for helping other runners cinnamon, I think you should add it Smile

Anglaise1 · 07/03/2015 12:13

I was wondering where you were too Poppy - sorry about your thyroid but I hope you will be back in full action soon.
9.5 from me this morning, 7 from an interval session with club friend and 2.5 with 14 yr old DD who is coming to Rome for me and doing a 5km with friend while I do the marathon. She has never run before.
Tonight I have to do another 10km as part of a relay team for the club. Not planned, someone is injured and they couldn't find anyone else. At least 'cos I'm doing the club a favour I can do the first session at 8pm and don't have to run at midnight. I won't count it yet.
313.07 + Cinammon's 3.1 + 9.5
325,67

familygermsareok · 07/03/2015 12:52

Anglaise you are keeping very busy, 10k at 8pm sounds bad enough ( I am most definitely a morning runner!) but 10k at midnight Shock . I like to be well tucked up in my bed by then. Good luck with the unexpected relay and Rome.

3.1 very pleasant parkrun miles, first time in ages I haven't been freezing cold waiting for the start.

328.77

standingonlego · 07/03/2015 13:05

A 6.23 run followed by a 4 mile bike ride in the spring sunshine, takes run total to a nice

335.0

standingonlego · 07/03/2015 13:07

Oh...and exciting news...we got our wolf run start time - OhOne, feet did you get an e-mail too?

TheSkinnyProject · 07/03/2015 14:00

Adding 4.5 miles from me. Spring feels like it has arrived. Tweety birds and buds on the trees.

It's been a long winter!

Total. 339.5

twobambinos · 07/03/2015 15:08

6.2 from me at tempo. I'm not sure how sustainable that will be over the half marathon next week though. If its anywhere close I should be on for a pb but will be outside my original aim. Given the disastrous ten mile race I did in Feb ill just hope to get around in one piece.
Cut my leg again today while running. Clumsy.
Hope the dog is ok Irina.and ill read over the rest of the messages soon. Don't feel I have been contributing too many miles for march so hopefully ill add a good few next week.

345.7

What's your goal for the HM twobambinos? If it's any consolation I find it quite difficult to maintain even 12kph in training for 8kms but for a HM it isn't a problem for me to go faster than that for the whole race. Races are a a whole different ball game to training!

twobambinos · 07/03/2015 16:40

Oh god I don't want l to put my goal down in writing ?? its 2 hours. But I have no chance of it less than 2 10 will be very acceptable to me. 12kph are u kidding me id need a gale force wind behind me and the whole route to be down hill Smile

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 07/03/2015 18:01

10 from me today 355.7
Got stuck in mud today, and herded by a sheep dog puppy, very very slow all round. I will be amazed if I finish this half in less than 2 hrs 40 mins.

twobambinos · 07/03/2015 18:19

When is your half ifyourhappy? I think it is a huge achievement just to complete the distance. I do have a habit of putting extra pressure on myself for no reaso.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 07/03/2015 18:23

April, running half the Manchester Marathon.

Suzannewithaplan · 07/03/2015 18:58

Doesn't matter if you're slow, you are still doing great things for your health exercise is essential for good health, race times are neither here nor there

Suzannewithaplan · 07/03/2015 19:04

The mere fact of regularly doing something as intense and difficult as running makes you a winner
Most people don't get any regular exercise, let alone anything as hard as running! ?

familygermsareok · 07/03/2015 19:32

A HM distance in any time is a great achievement, I would just enjoy the experience, take it easy and run comfortably and not worry about the pace. If you feel good you can always pick it up later on, but I always see it as my main aim to get round.

I have a HM coming up in April too, so will have to start doing some intervals soon Sad. Much prefer LSRs. Am away snowboarding the week before and only get back the day before HM. Bad planning as I am doing the same in July, away on hols for the 2 weeks before a HM, returning on day before again. At least I will be able to keep up the running in July but will have to curtail my Wine and Cake intake on both holidays Sad

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/03/2015 19:43

A half is a massive achievement - think how few people out of the whole of the UK population have ever done one.
