Woo! How exciting to be the last on one thread and the first on another!

Thank you cinnamon

I prefer 3 April for giving birth to boys Wink

itsveryyou hope all goes well on Sunday. DH and I ran our first HM in a snowstorm. My water turned into a slush puppy, and DH's beard froze so he couldn't smile at the end Grin

itsveryyou · 27/02/2015 20:39

ohOne ha ha! I don't mind running in the cold, just if it's icy underfoot it could get tricky and being in the USA, they would prob cancel it rather than risk injury/compensation claims. Seriously, a couple of inches of snow today and the whole city is at a standstill, school cancelled, police telling people to stay at home, insane!

HalleLouja · 27/02/2015 20:47

1951.96 miles including my 3.1 miles at my running club 5k race yesterday. It was actually quite fun.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 27/02/2015 20:53

Oh where are you itsveryyou? We used to live in NYC. I've been amazed at the pictures of the freezing weather there the last couple of weeks - it was cold when we were there, but not as cold as now.

stilllearnin · 28/02/2015 08:44

1954.96 total with a measly grey and still not easy 3 miles from me. My knee is doing ok and I am determined to keep going at it. Hopefully it'll pick up in a few weeks.

originalpiratematerial · 28/02/2015 08:50

shock at cinnamon baby being due so soon! How has the time gone so fast!!

Neeko · 28/02/2015 09:20

Still - well done and so glad the knee is holding up.

Cinnamon it won't be long until you'll be power walking with the pram. Can you swim in the last month for your endorphins?

Good luck to all the racers out there this weekend.

I've managed to run every other day for 16 days now. We have a ball to go to in 7 weeks and I've set myself the target of running every other day until then. hoping by then it will be a habit I'm unwilling to drop
My body is not keen on that 4th run of the week (today) Wink. As always, I'm really glad I've done it though.

Have a good weekend all!

1954.56 plus 3.1 from me is

1957.66

Haha OhOne and Cinnamon I found the 8th (just) of April to be a good day for boys Smile

Checking in with my dogrun parkrun 1960.8

But now they have proper street-cred ( or should that be trail-cred?) Thursday. They are still lush, just a bit crusty on the surface Grin

Good luck to everyone doing a race, enjoy.

5.5 parkrun plus there and back miles from me this morning, first run since Tue, felt so good. Smile

actiongirl1978 · 28/02/2015 11:38

Hi everyone, adding 10.5 from yesterday, done in a split of two miles before school run, and then 8 later in the morning. It was supposed to be twelve but my breathing was really off. Still the weather was absolutely stunning yesterday in Hampshire and I really enjoyed being out.

I have also noticed how much my body has acclimatised to running the longer distances and more importantly how I don't feel like dying afterwards. I used to be super achy all day, now my knees creak a bit from It band pulling, but other than that I'm just a bit tired from the exercise and fresh air. I got out of bed this morning no problem!

I hope everyone has good weekends and that you get to do your race itsvery

Has everyone notices that spring seems to almost be here? Yesterday I saw some birds of prey (no idea what, I should research!) circling over a field I was running past and then I saw four blue tits, chase each other and singing like mad. I kid you not, they were playing and having fun it was delightful to watch Smile

Well done on all the miles ladies! What with the early miscarriage and madthing2s report stating he def has high functioning aspergers I have not felt the mojo this week. But I will run when dp gets in from work at 6pm today. No idea how far, am just going to see how I feel but I need to just kick myself up the butt and get out there, so if you see me online and not running this eve give me a shove!

cinnamongreyhound · 28/02/2015 12:52

I may do Neeko, it's just so much hassle getting changed and wet and driving there plus it's over £5 a time at my local pool. I am tail running at parkrun next week and will just seen how I feel. I walk at least 3 miles a day so not lacking in activity and I am tired by the evenings now so maybe I'll just potter round parkrun and leave the rest ConfusedHmm

It is a bit scary originalpiratematerial, it's March tomorrow Shock

Hopefully a run will make you feel more positive 5madthings, or release all the emotions!

runtothehills · 28/02/2015 13:46

Thursday thats how trails are meant to look. My shiny new pair today looked totally out of place until they got some mud. Fording the river at the end however meant I retuned home with them looking just as clean (though very wet).

14 miles with 1200m ascent today. Was very grim, rain, sleet, wind and zero viz but feel great Grin.

Aggressive hope your trail race has gone well today, remember visiting HK about 15 years ago, was amazed that there was so many hills and green space when my impression had been of just a large cityscape.

1990.8 only 10 miles to go!

originalpiratematerial · 28/02/2015 13:58

3.23 miles from me, very slow but they all count! 1994.03

ThursdayLast · 28/02/2015 14:15

I know what you mean runtothehills! They were far too smart looking... until about a quarter of a km in Grin

One of the lovely things about running in Cornwall action is seeing how early spring can be sprung down here. Crocuses and daffs and primroses and still loads of snowdrops. Beautiful.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 28/02/2015 14:21

5.1 miles from me. Couldn't maintain a steady pace and got lost. Whoops.

itsveryyou · 28/02/2015 14:50

ohOne we're in Texas, not usually known for its arctic conditions! Problem is, they don't treat the roads before ice, so when it freezes, the whole road system grinds to a halt and it's so dangerous to travel. Plus, people have no clue whatsoever how to drive safely in it over here. Currently, it's below zero with more snow due, and temps not climbing over freezing until Monday, roads treacherous and airport closed. ..am seriously thinking they might cancel the event tomorrow, tho currently they say it's still on.

Sorelip · 28/02/2015 15:21

1999.13 + 25.56 = 2024.69

twobambinos · 28/02/2015 15:47

2024.69 + 13.1 = 2037.79

Long wet windy miles and I felt every step of them.

twobambinos · 28/02/2015 15:52

Oh 5madmadthings that's sad news about your ds.
Texas sounds alot like Ireland, a but of snow and the place grinds to a halt. We are still having snow showers here so I'm yet to see the signs of spring.

How did everyone get on in their half marathons today?

Suzannewithaplan · 28/02/2015 15:53

12.75 from me
=2050.54

Suzannewithaplan · 28/02/2015 16:55

Actiongirl, do you think that adding strength training to your regime has helped to reduce muscle soreness?

it is surprising I agree how distances that used to seem shocking come to seem perfectly normal and reasonable!

EdithDickie · 28/02/2015 18:37

10 muddy and slippery but wonderfully FLAT miles along the Basingstoke Canal path this morning. Plus lots of stretching after. I think my hips are getting much better.

Can I get recommendations for a foam roller please? Firmer the better?
