OP posts:
HesterShaw · 21/02/2015 10:58

Hello everyone. I have been away visiting elderly father with dementia. Doesn't put me in the brightest frame of mind for going on runs :(

I did 1.6 miles yesterday and 1 a couple a days before that I am going away again on Thursday so must get some proper exercise again.

1498.46

HesterShaw · 21/02/2015 10:59

Oops, crossed with action

Amend that to 1509.46

cinnamongreyhound · 21/02/2015 11:08

Ah congratulation actiongirl1978 on being an aunty not your breaks Wink

Not pathetic HesterShaw, running is running and I can totally see why you're not in a positive frame of mind Flowers

Good luck iwantgin!!!!!!

Lovely sunny parkrun from me 1512.56

twobambinos · 21/02/2015 11:26

Goodluck iwantgin hope it goes well.

I have two small cranky sick children today waiting for dh to get back so I can go out for a long long long long run Grin

Congrats actiongirl

HalleLouja · 21/02/2015 11:37

SAzor If you want to bold you need to put a * each side. You can usually do that on different devices she says hopefully. Unless you use the app, that might be different.

1515.66

Knackerelli · 21/02/2015 12:06

A sunny parkrun to add ( with snow storms before and after!)

1518.76

ThursdayLast · 21/02/2015 13:07

A leaden legged parkrun 1521.9

runtothehills · 21/02/2015 14:07

Good luck with HM iwantgin and enjoy the journey, I love travelling by train especially with no kids.

Training officially started today for Mountain Marathon that I'm doing end of April (only 9 weeks away Shock ). It's a 2 day mountain navigation challenge that covers roughly a marathon distance. My running partner did it last year and has coerced persuaded me to try it this year. We did a beautiful 9 miles today with stunning views to upper Deeside and the snowy Cairngorms.

New total 1530.9

EdithDickie · 21/02/2015 14:34

Congratulations Actiongirl!

Sorry to hear about your dad Hester, that must be very hard.

Runtothehills that sounds like quite something! A mountainous marathon Shock

ThursdayLast · 21/02/2015 14:40

Exciting Aunty action Thanks

I just bought 2x pairs of New Balance shoes online. One pair for road, another for trail (as I realised I could actually see my toes poking out of my ancient Kanadias thus morning!)

They are the minimus ones. Anyone have any experience?
I Got on very well with my nike frees a while ago, so am hoping ive found a slightly better value for money version.

orangeflutie · 21/02/2015 15:29

Hope all goes well for HM on Sunday iwantgin and well done for travelling from Yorkshire to do it tooSmile

I did 6.5 miles this morning in sunny Devon along the seafront again but went a bit further along this time. Quite hilly but fun and good for training purposes. BitHmm we're going home tomorrow but guess dds need to go back to school on Monday.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/02/2015 16:26

I know this is NOTHING compared to some of your speedy Gonzaleses on here, but I just ran my first sub-30 5k in about a year. I got well under 28 about this time last year at parkrun, then had a series of niggly injuries and got very slack with my running. I couldn't do parkrun this morning, so just went out and ran the route on my own several hours late.

Congratulations action

Hope the HM goes well and that your wish is at the end iwantgin

Love the idea of a Mountain Marathon runtothehills

Well done parkrunners

Welcome back Hester, hope running might help you to clear your mind.

Re the garmin mistake (last page) - I couldn't chop the last 64 miles off the route shown on the map on Garmin Connect Grin, but I was able to go in and edit the distance and time of my run so that when I run the report for how many miles I have run this month/week/year it is closer to reality Grin.

2.75 on Thursday, and 3.36 = 6.11 + 1530.9 = 1537

twobambinos · 21/02/2015 16:33

1537 plus 12 from me ie 1549

Great milage everyone.
Ohone congrats on the 5km time that is a brilliant achievement.

Runtothehills omg that sounds like quite a challenge fair play to you

Sazorchard31 · 21/02/2015 16:54

testing bold thanks halle if this works!

Sazorchard31 · 21/02/2015 16:56

Fab ohone that's great! Hopefully there will be many more and you'll get your sub 28 again before long.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/02/2015 17:14

It worked Saz Grin

Thank you bambinos, hope your poorly children feel better soon, and Saz, I hope so. Running 4 tines a week must have some payback Grin

Off for a session with my new BFF, the foam roller Smile

HalleLouja · 21/02/2015 17:34

Well done sazor. I just get lost in the miles otherwise. I kind of look for the bold........

karatekimmi · 21/02/2015 17:48

Well done 010203, that's awesome - I was moaning th DH that I don't think I'll do a sub 30 5k this year, and not sure about next year!! I was pleased with my 34.22 run!!

You must be fairly far along now Cinnamon - good to see you still running, I'm still waiting for my glow and energy burst!!

1552.1 with my parkrun

familygermsareok · 21/02/2015 18:17

Wow, this thread is moving very quickly.

Good luck with Hm tomorrow Iwantgin ( and anyone else who is racing).
Congrats action on becoming an aunty.
Well done on sub 30 OhOne

Sorry to hear about your dad Hester, it is such a cruel illness. I hope running helps you a bit. I found it used to give me a much needed time to clear my head when my mum was terminally ill, it is when I took it up in fact.
Mountain marathon sounds amazing, runtothehills. I love the idea of something like that but sadly it is well beyond me.
Edith I am so glad I am not the only one! I love letting my thoughts just wander where they will Smile

3.1 sunny but cold parkrun miles.
1555.2

runtothehills · 21/02/2015 20:17

family I fear it may be beyond me too!

Well done park runners especially those with added baggage Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 21/02/2015 20:39

Well done OhOneOhTwoOhThree!!

Sorry to hear you have poorly children twobambinos, wish them well soon.

I'm 34 weeks on Monday KarateKimmi, really didn't expect to be running now but it doesn't cause me any discomfort so I'm carrying on! I think the glow comes around 16 weeks but from my experience of friends if it's a girl there tends to be less of a glow!

5madthings · 21/02/2015 22:00

Wow, lots of running been going on!

My cough has finally got better, not totally gone but i feel well enough to run so will go out tomorriw after a week off.

Well i say i feel well, actually feel a bit green but it appears to be for a reason.., it would seem i am expecting madthing6! Eeek! Very early days so its a secret, so no mention on fb for those that know me on there. Bit of a shock and it means that all being well i will be 12wks when i run my half marathon! My plan is to continue training and go slow and steady and listen to my body. I must be mad but hopefuly this will be an easy pregnancy like my others.

cinnamongreyhound · 21/02/2015 22:05

Oh wow! Congratulations 5madthings, didn't someone ask you that the other day and you said definitely not Wink

Neeko · 21/02/2015 22:09

Wow. Congrats 5madthings! Hope you are feeling ok.

It's a bit concerning how high the fertility levels on this thread are. Maybe I should have joined a running thread instead of a conception one when I was desperate for DD2 Wink. Fingers crossed none of your luck rubs off on me!! Grin

5madthings · 21/02/2015 22:16

We did say def not, its not planned but life always throws a curve ball it seems! Madthing5 starts school in sept, just as i get a taste of freedom! Due nov 1st! Eeek! Trying not to get too excited as its very early days, but can't help it.
