Anyone else starting a Beachbody workout programme? (T25, insanity etc)

Ok so my Focus T25 box has arrived today! Costs a lot but it has 11 25 minute work outs and some stretchy exercise band things. Idea is that because I have spent a lot I will have to knuckle down and see it through for the next 2 months.

I will probably try it over the weekend and start properly on mon. I am 3 stone overweight so this is going to be a mega challenge! Has anyone else recently started something similar or a new workout dvd and want to help motivate each other?

Awww thanks all for the support and kind words, bit scary putting all my flab out there on the internet starts to hyperventilate, resists temptation to immediately make profile private .

Wow Yum! Well done! There is def a difference in those pics. You should be really proud and I'm so grateful to you for posting your pics. Really I am.

I was away at my mum and dads for a few days and forgot to take the DVDs with me. So back yesterday but haven't quite got the wits it ti start back again. I've had sore knees and am very tired.

My head has been in a sort of 'what's the point of doing this if all I can manage is the modifier which i am still struggling with' I am in a defeatist frames of mind, which is utterly crap, but also completely true! I caught sight of mself in the bathroom mirror at my mum and dad's and was horrified at what I've allowed myself to become. I feel quite disgusted with myself. So instead off eating on with it, I've been stuffing my face. I am my own worst enemy and have been on a low for a few days. I really need to lose weight but am crap at dieting,. Sad

So Yum, your pics are really really helpful to see and I promise I Will get back on it tomorrow. Sorry for being so crap.

Boobz, you are SO amazing. Your mental attitude is amazing! I hope you are healing well after the op. Hopefully being the fittest you've ever been will help speed up your recovery time. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Speed, OMG, you are a real inspiration. My youngest is 5 now and I Am still carrying a lot of post pregnancy fat on me. Thanks for joining this thread, you really Are brilliant and I am in awe!

Welcome also to the other joiners too.

Jackster hope you'really having an amazing holiday and sleepy, hope you'really back is starting to get better.

I will gets a mm. It tomorrowy- I will I will I will.

Yumyum, that's an amazing transformation!!! You should be so proud of yourself, you are real hardcore for getting so far!!! And with such a great achievement there is definitely nothing to be embarrassed about!!! I bet so many people would feel inspired by your transformation!!!

I had a fab day on Friday meeting up with friends, have to admit I ate like a pig though. Yesterday turned into a recovery day, I was literally suffering from overeating hungover!!! Lol. Was meant to do Insanity Plyo Cardio today but really didn't fancy it, so decided to do insanity cardio abs instead and only after completing it realised it was much shorter than normal insanity workouts. So I then decided to do JM shred it with weights which was really good fun and made me feel much better as I've been wanting to do weights for a few days now.

I'm meant to weigh myself tomorrow morning (I do it fortnightly at the mo) but doubt the scales will move with Easter and all overindulgences in the last couple of weeks :(

Fab work everybody and keep it up!

Fullsteamahead · 12/04/2015 22:32

Newbie, all I can say is don't beat yourself up about it. I've been feeling very low about my eating in the last week or so too as I've been craving carbs like mad and have overeaten on several occasions too. I guess we just need to support each other through harder times and I'm sure we will all get there in the end. :)

Good luck with getting back into it tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you! xx

Newbiecrafter · 12/04/2015 23:36

Thanks Fullsteam. Thanks

I really appreciate the support on here and so sorry that you've also been feeling low. Sending you some hugs.

You're day out sounds like it was a lot of fun, which is the perfect tonic at times.

Thanks also for that link to the nutrition info. It's all very interesting.

I have read up on and tried so many diets but can never seem to get beyond a certain point with them. I am a terrible cook and also have no imagination so when I diet I tend to eat the same foods day In Day out. I am also now in a state of permanent confusion as to what diet is best. I have a family history of diabetes and high cholesterol so really do want to sort myself out so that I can avoid that, but I am stuck in a rut of overthinking and not doing and then consoling myself with something sweet or junk foody. If I step out of myself and look at me I think I'm a bloody joke Blush

I sometimes think I should just go in meal replacements shakes and taket he thinking out of it. But know that's not the best plan.

Thanks again and hope you're having a good evening and apologies for the 'poor me' posts. Blush

Not2bObvious · 13/04/2015 07:04

Newbie, hope you feel brighter today, it's awful feeling low like that. One day at a time, you'll get there and as for having to follow Tanya, so what? I have to most of the time to get through. I knawed my way through a lot of chocolate over the weekend but having seen the numbers when added into mfp, I've come to the conclusion that the temporary lift isn't worth the 'uneating' of it all. I walked 14000 steps yesterday on top of my double to counteract the binge - now what the hell was I thinking? I'm holding that memory to stop me doing the same again another day. Get the junk out of the house, be true to mfp and do your 25 mins when you can. I'm sick of my cycle of losing/regaining so I'm just taking every day as it comes and to make more better choices than bad ones. We'll get there Wink And when we do, we'll be fabulous! Or to be precise more fabulous Grin

spookyskeleton · 13/04/2015 08:02

yumyum wow your photos are fab! You can definitely see the weight loss/toning, particularly the side ones. Well done Smile

newbie don't feel down, weight loss is a struggle for most of us. Put it all behind you and move forwards. In respect of following Tanya, that is still a hell of a lot more exercise than most people do so feel proud that you are doing it!

I missed upper focus at the weekend as life got in the way so once I have dropped the kids off at school, my plan is to do dynamic core, upper focus and then stretch - am going to miss out the cool downs and the second warm up so I think it will take me about about 75 minutes! But I need to get back on track so I will do it!!!

Good workouts everyone today Smile

Sarahlouboo · 13/04/2015 08:59

Newbie - hope you are feeling better today. Just take it a day at a time. You are stronger than you give yourself credit for. I started on Jillian Michaels DVDs and I merrily modified for months! X

Purpleraindeer · 13/04/2015 09:06

75mins!!? Omg. Good luck!
Newbie we all fall off the wagon sometimes. I had an Easter egg binge too. I ate a lot of choc then felt cross for doing it so I then finished it to cheer myself up! Talk about self defeating. Re diet have you thought of old school calorie counting on mfp? I made my life doing this easier by buying lots of semi prepared food for which I knew the calories - eg marinaded chicken breasts/fresh soups so i could eat a good variety but without having to put a lot of effort into cooking which I find depressing if I'm on a diet. I got into a pattern after a week and it got easier. I've never been any good at diets before but found the support I got from this thread invaluable to get me thru the tough bits. Also Google tanya t25 results. She did the modified version and lost all her baby weight and now has a 6 pack so it is not the easy option

spookyskeleton · 13/04/2015 09:09

purple it may be 75 minutes but 25 minutes of that is just stretching and the 2 workouts I am doing are the 2 easiest ones Grin

Purpleraindeer · 13/04/2015 10:41

I just did the cardio one from max30. Was a lot harder when I tried to keep up with Shaun t!! And I seem to have 'leakage' issues again. it's like I 'caught' them from this thread Grin
I now have a horrible layer of wobbly skin on my tummy where I've lost weight. It looks like crepe paper and is horrible. Has anyone had this and does it go away? If I didnt have it I think I'd have the beginnings of a 6 pack. Yay!

spookyskeleton · 13/04/2015 10:49

Well I did dynamic core and upper focus but couldn't be arsed with stretching Grin

purple unfortunately my tummy is still full of fat so no loose skin here Sad

Purpleraindeer · 13/04/2015 11:26

Even starting the second workout is heroic as far as I'm concerned. I've never done any of the stretches. This might explain why j ache all the time!!

Newbiecrafter · 13/04/2015 13:24

Hello everyone.

Thanks so much for all the supportive and kind words. Not sure what was wrong with me yesterday other than feeling very sorry for myself.

I like the idea of the semi prepared meals and using MFP. I'll give that some thought and will try and figure out what prepared food items to go for.

Not2be - 14000 steps Shock and after doing a double Shock Shock. That is amazing! Do you have a treadmill? How far is that distance wise to walk? That's really good going. Going to get my pedometer out, if I can find it.

Sorry for not name checking everyone, my ipad is playing up. I really am sorry for being so negative yesterday. But back on it today with all your help so thank you! Thanks

Xxx

Fullsteamahead · 13/04/2015 14:38

Girls on MFP, if anyone is interested in joining me as a friend please let me know. It'd be great to support one another with nutrition as well as exercise :)

Newbie, just as a thought, Marks and Spencer do a fab range called Balanced for you. It's a large variety of ready meals which are high in protein, low in fat and pretty low in carbs. I know M&S is pricey but maybe this is the kind of thing you need to get you started...

I'm having a good day today and am feeling like I'm back on top of my game :) As predicted the scales never moved this morning but I knew it was going to happen after all overindulgences! I did Beta RipT Circuit and Insanity Cardio Recovery after having a long walk with kids this morning. Have been eating clean today and am determined to keep it that way!

Not2bObvious · 13/04/2015 19:00

newbie the 14000 was probably about 6 miles spread out over 2 decent 25 minutes walks (to/from shopping centre) then another 2 x 10 min walks - plus all the other up/down stairs, pottering around etc. I've done about the same today, the normal journey to work includes close to 4 miles walking, add in a lunchtime wander et voila - absolutely f'ing exhausted Confused No T25 today, need a days break after yesterday - probably start day 1 tomorrow evening.
You sound in the zone Fullsteam - bugger the b*stard scales, it'll get it soon enough - sorry folks I'm a bit sweary tonight aren't I? I'm like an overtired child acting up lol!

Sarahlouboo · 13/04/2015 19:05

hi everyone,

Fullsteam - I am already friends with you on MFP aren't I?! I think I am but obviously you have a different name on there. Glad that you are feeling back on track and well done on maintaining even though you have been indulging!

Newbie - glad you are feeling better. I am certainly not a cook so I have struggled in the past with that aspect of things. Then I read somewhere to make a list of all your favourite healthy foods and just indulge in them. I realised that I rarely bought healthy food that I really love like salmon, avocado, mackerel, humus, berries etc. so now I buy them every week and indulge as often as I can at lunchtimes and I really look forward to lunch (no change there!).

Spooky - well done on the double and I don't blame you for giving the stretching a miss! That is just too long for any attention span!

I did Jillian Michaels 6 week 6 pack yesterday for a change. It was still hard but I could do all the hard versions (I used to pretty much modify throughout). Just completed Beta Speed 2.0. It hasn't got any easier! Did my measurements and I have got my weight back under control but no change in measurements so going to try and go for it over the next couple of weeks (this is week 4 for me) and see where I end up.

Fullsteamahead · 13/04/2015 19:45

Hey Sarah, yes I know, we are already friends :) The more the merrier though! you need to open your diary as well so we can share good nutrition ideas and tips ;)

Sarahlouboo · 13/04/2015 21:27

Oh ok, I'll try and do that although I am not sure you'll will get any tips apart from - try not to eat as much as Sarah Grin

molehillormountain · 13/04/2015 22:55

Yumy - I had a look at your photos and would like to congratulate you on your evident progress! You have done so so well! Big thumbs up!

I have just done the circuit one and found some of the plank moves very challenging! Think I will ache even more tomorrow! Confused

spookyskeleton · 14/04/2015 07:33

molehill well done on getting through Total Body Circuit. I think if you read back through this thread, the general consensus is that it is the worst and hardest of all the workouts (both alpha and beta)!

Not2bObvious · 14/04/2015 07:54

Well done Mole on tbc, it's next up on my list and I am dreading it! Either do it tonight or tomorrow morning. Thankfully my calves have recovered from lower focus, they were aching yesterday. Just about to do my 30 minute brisk walk to work, meant to be a lovely day so I'll probably do another 30 mins at lunch, ending it with a very fast walk homeward. I hope in the long run the walking helps a bit with the weight loss, sick of people saying it's the best exercise, still no bloody results after 3 months of miles and miles every week! Poxy bastard scales still showing 2 pound up, Totm gone, have Definately expended more than I ate, wtf????
Moany arse today, pls ignoreWink

Purpleraindeer · 14/04/2015 11:02

Not2be I found the same thing with my weight. Just keep doing what you're doing and weigh yourself again in a few days and then see. It is frustrating though
Did tabata strength for the first time this am. Was really good - it was all strength moves so those of you who like weights would like this. I have learned that any move which has 'diamond' in the title is awful. I hate diamond jumps and diamond push ups. Seriously the diamond push ups are impossible. Hopefully boobz will come back on here at some point and tell me she can do 20 to motivate me. However I can now do proper push ups and get my chest to the floor - all that time I thought I wasn't getting stronger and I must have been, so that was a nice surprise.

Fullsteamahead · 14/04/2015 14:16

Purple, we'll done on all those Diamonds! :) and Mole, great work completing TBC!

Just popping in quickly to say that I'm doing Insanity Max Interval Circuit today for the very first time! I'm really dreading it after all those comments regarding how hard insanity month 2 is. Well, I can't chicken out now since I've written it on here! Wish me luck!!!

Sarahlouboo · 14/04/2015 19:00

Fullsteam - how did it go?

Purple - well done on the proper push-ups! I still have to modify on those. One day...Smile

Not2be - keep going! I sometimes seem to plateau before losing a couple of lbs seemingly overnight; makes no sense but you are due some weight loss, I can feel it in my bones!

Well totally pigged out at a work lunch buffet today and ate loads of biscuits just because! So I made myself go for a five mile run just now to try and compensate especially as it is such a lovely evening here. have swallows tons of flies, not sure if you can put them on MFP Shockfirst time in ages I have done more than three miles and my legs were great but I was seriously dehydrated half way around and forgot to take any water with me so it wasn't great to be honest. Back to T25 tomorrow in my fly free living room!
