Anyone else starting a Beachbody workout programme? (T25, insanity etc)

Ok so my Focus T25 box has arrived today! Costs a lot but it has 11 25 minute work outs and some stretchy exercise band things. Idea is that because I have spent a lot I will have to knuckle down and see it through for the next 2 months.

I will probably try it over the weekend and start properly on mon. I am 3 stone overweight so this is going to be a mega challenge! Has anyone else recently started something similar or a new workout dvd and want to help motivate each other?

Did a single today (cardio) and that was very much following Tanya, struggled to get up but I did it, albeit badly. Not feeling very fit this morning Newbie lol! I'll see how I progress over the next week, I really should just focus on getting each workout done to full speed, that should be the plan this early in the game. It took me 6 days to do the 5 day program last week, might be the same this week as I have a very long day Thursday (9-9.30) but we'll see.
Anyone else do something today? I'm going to tbc tomorrow evening and it's not going to be prettyGrin

And an answer to my question about doubles:

About to start not2beobvious - yay for you getting it done this morning.

spookyskeleton · 07/04/2015 10:31

Morning Smile

Well done to those of you who have done your workouts already today.

I didn't quite start as planned yesterday as I went for an hour's jog run with friends instead which was lovely.

So, core cardio awaits me later today, cannot wait Grin

spookyskeleton · 07/04/2015 10:32

not2be I don't think TBC is ever pretty Wink

Sarahlouboo · 07/04/2015 11:58

Hi everyone and Happy Easter Easter Smile. I haven't been on all weekend and it looks as though it has been busy on here so apologies for the lack of individual name checks but well done for all of you who have been on it! I have eaten much food and drunk much wine and I have put on weight and feel extremely bloated. But never mind, onwards and upwards. Back to healthy eating and T25'ing today! It has been a good reminder of how easy it is to grow complacent. I did enjoy the choc fest while it lasted though!

I am aiming to do a double later on as I like getting the double out of the way early in the week. I was interested (and delighted) to see your reply from Shaun T though Not2be! Jillian Michaels says similar things - if you are working out intensely 5-6 times a week, that is enough she reckons. Unless you are going for athlete status! I have also been much more consistent in working out regularly since I started doing shorter workouts.

Have a good one and speak to you all later.

Newbiecrafter · 07/04/2015 16:24

Hello everyone.

Feeling very tired today but am about to go and do TBC in a mo.

Off to my mum and dads with DD and DS tomorrow for 2 nights so will aim to get my workouts in while we're there. Not sure how that will work, but hoping I manage it.

It's such a lovely day today. Very warm and sunny so hope everyone is enjoying it.

Xxx

spookyskeleton · 07/04/2015 18:35

So am back on T25 now - just did core cardio and it was hard! But it can only get easier right??

Newbiecrafter · 07/04/2015 19:00

TBC done. That doesn't feel like it will ever get easier, but

Sarahlouboo · 07/04/2015 19:49

Spooky and Newbie - I don't think they are ever going to be easy-peasy! But you get accustomed to the pain.

I didn't do a double, DH kept me waiting so only squeezed beta speed 2.0 in but really enjoyed it and will attempt double again tomorrow. Feeling very motivated - putting on a ton of weight has that effect Grin.

Fullsteamahead · 07/04/2015 21:31

Hello everybody, you are all doing so well!!!

Sarah, I did Beta Speed 2.0 today as well :) And then I kind of felt like I needed to do something else so I went ahead and did JM Killer Buns and Thighs Level 3. 2nd time doing this workout and it really is very hard but it does make me feel like I worked hard and gives me that nice pain afterwards when you know you did well!

I wanted to share this link with all of you. It's a really good resource which tells you pretty much everything you need to know about calorie intake, exercise, body composition, etc. I found it really interesting, hope you all like it too :)

Morning all. Hello to all new joiners, i have not been here for a few days and loads to read which is great! Hope you are all doing well.
Fullsteam - that link is great, some really useful info. Only had chance to have a quick scan so far, I will read properly later.
I am now on week 2 month 2 Insanity and enjoying it though I would like to see some results now!!
My dog hates Shaun T - every morning as soon as she hears his voice she slopes off upstairs. It makes me giggle each time esp as she is such a lazy dog.
Hard few days with long work days coming up so I'll catch up with this thread properly at wkend.

lbnblbnb · 08/04/2015 06:35

Up, drinking tea. I will press play by 7am .... Not used to morning exercise.

Not2bObvious · 08/04/2015 07:48

Tbc done badly Woke up at 6 and decided to get it out of the way, speed tomorrow which I think isn't the worst or am I kidding myself? Well lbnb, you pressed play yesGrin

spookyskeleton · 08/04/2015 09:04

Just done speed 2.0, love the format of it even if I did have to follow Tanya for bits of it

not2 yes speed 1.0 is one of my favourites, mainly because you get lots of breaks whilst stretching Grin

Not2bObvious · 08/04/2015 11:11

Cool, breaks are what I need! Is anyone able to do pikes and burpees? Outside of Derek, Scott and sweaty pretty flippy ponytail girl? I think my hips might dislocate if I try them! I filled in my nailed/barely made it chart, the barelys are outweighing the nailed it's that's for sure but I'll get there, won't I plaintively whimpering

Sarahlouboo · 08/04/2015 15:19

Hi and well done to the early birds! I am pleased to report that 3 of my 6lbs weight gain must have been general bloat and water retention because they have disappeared overnight! Yay! I was secretly hoping that would be the case, I often gain a few lbs after a drinking weekend, don't know about you?

Good link, thank you Fullsteam. I have been thinking about foods that are more filling etc. so it was useful. And well done on having energy to spare at the end of Speed 2.0!

I am going to do a double tonight, I am, I am, I am Grin!

Sarahlouboo · 08/04/2015 15:23

Lbn - dos you do it?

Not2be - I can now do burpees but struggle with pikes. You will get there for sure. I couldn't do burpees at all and then I went through a phase of thinking I couldn't do them and then I gave them another go and now I find them OK. Still struggle with pikes and press-ups. There is no way my chest is touching the floor on push ups unless I am lying face down!

Sarahlouboo · 08/04/2015 18:43

I did it! Core cardio and upper focus. It was chuffin hard! X

spookyskeleton · 08/04/2015 18:48

not2b I can manage some burpees and some pikes - just can't keep them up for as long as you are supposed to so I usually collapse switch to the lower option halfway through the time!

The flippy ponytailed sweaty blond (Jen I think) is my inspiration - I want a body like hers!! Never going to happen but I can dream Wink

Just sat here watching DH doing speed 2.0, so much easier from the armchair Grin

Jacksterbear · 08/04/2015 20:27

Evening all. Just popping in quickly to say I'm off on hols v early in the morning; have my exercise gear and dvds packed (I am taking: beta core cardio, speed 1.0 and tbc; lower focus; dynamic abs; and my Turbofire bonus DVD). May not be able to come onto thread much while away, but will be exercising and thinking of you all! Sorry not to namecheck but I have read all your posts! xx Smile

Fullsteamahead · 08/04/2015 21:04

Have a fab holiday Jackster!

Great job on a double Sarah!

And very well done to all of you who get up early to work out. I prefer to workout in the mornings but there is no way I'd get up for it at 6 am!!! Lol

I managed to get through Insanity Cardio Power and Resistance, the sweat was literally pouring off me!!! But I had quite a crap day food wise, lunch at a friends who is an amazing baker and had gorgeous ginger cookies on offer and then grilled chicken takeaway kebab for dinner which according to MFP had 80 g of carbs! Shocker :( Nevermind, it's another day tomorrow.

Glad the article was useful to some of you

molehillormountain · 08/04/2015 22:56

This thread has inspired me to procure T25! I will be back in 10 weeks with a full report of my progress (bites fingernails) Grin

Purpleraindeer · 09/04/2015 10:11

Well done on the doubles and 6am wake ups.
Poppy how is your last t25 week going? Are you nailing it?
Flaked out and had a rest day yesterday. Nearly wimped out again this am but was too ashamed to post that on this thread so did sweat intervals. I always feel good afterwards but it is v hard to press play when you know how bad you feel during the work out!

spookyskeleton · 09/04/2015 10:29

molehill welcome Smile the hardest part is pressing play for that first time but you can do it!

Rip't circuit done this morning.

Quick question for you all if you don't mind? Do you think it is better to do the high impact cardio stuff even if your form is rubbish or follow Tanya and keep your form? For example, speed knees - whilst I can do this cardio-wise, my knees get nowhere near my waist but if I do the modifier, I get my knees up much higher and presumably am getting the ab workout. Same with high switch kicks and half tuck jumps. What is everyone's opinion?
