Anyone else starting a Beachbody workout programme? (T25, insanity etc)

yumyumpoppycat · 09/01/2015 16:16

Ok so my Focus T25 box has arrived today! Costs a lot but it has 11 25 minute work outs and some stretchy exercise band things. Idea is that because I have spent a lot I will have to knuckle down and see it through for the next 2 months.

I will probably try it over the weekend and start properly on mon. I am 3 stone overweight so this is going to be a mega challenge! Has anyone else recently started something similar or a new workout dvd and want to help motivate each other?

sarah am sure even Shaun T would tell you to rest with an injury Grin

Did beta core cardio today - definitely did not nail it Sad I am finding it the hardest of all the beta workouts!

Fullsteamahead · 17/03/2015 21:24

The same here Spooky, I thought I was going to die during Beta Core Cardio today, the only thing that kept me going was the fact that it's the last one for me :) as I'm moving onto Gamma next week. I bet that'll be even harder though. Lol

Purpleraindeer · 18/03/2015 11:59

Gamma! You'll have to give us a review fullsteam.
I did tbc this am. Couldn't face jillian and her motivational chat. Tbc felt easier than when I last did it but still hard. I think that is the hardest work out. It's harder than ript circuit for sure.

Sarahlouboo · 18/03/2015 18:37

Back loads better today so I went for a run Grin. Did 9 min miles which is PB for me and I felt like I was flying around so T25 has most def improved my cardio loads. Only did 3 miles but I really enjoyed it. Gonna do some JM this week and start properly on beta next week. Hope everyone else ok. X

Sarahlouboo · 18/03/2015 18:38

Oh meant to confess, totally fallen off the wagon diet wise Confused. Gotta get to grips with it again.

Daisybutton · 19/03/2015 10:27

Thinking of you today Boobz Flowers

Fullsteamahead · 19/03/2015 19:18

Me too Boobz, hope it all went well!

yumyumpoppycat · 19/03/2015 19:55

Yes Boobz thinking of you. x (know the're not allowed on mn)

Sarahlou don't worry too much I am coming to the conclusion with diets its a marathon not a race (or something like that)

Did ript and speed 2.0 this eve, yest I did Core Cardio and barely made it, kept putting my head down during superman and having a snooze.

Thanks ladies.

Unfortunately the tests were inconclusive. So more tests needed. The Italian system is strange - I am hoping to fly back to the UK next week to get into the NHS machine - so another week to see the UK team and probably another week for them to get their own biopsy results etc, so not expecting any answers in the next 2 weeks or so (which is hugely frustrating as I am not a very patient person by nature).

yumyumpoppycat · 20/03/2015 01:11

2 more weeks Boobz that is a hard wait, will the italian results possibly be sooner? Hope you get the results soon x

Sarahlouboo · 20/03/2015 06:49

Oh how frustrating Boobz! Hmm Hopefully with all the travel etc., the next two weeks will fly by. X (didn't realise kisses were not the done thing on mn!) xxx

Yumyum - yes I think you are right, got to keep some perspective and trust that I will get back on track. I read a good article on Greatist which was saying you are not your weight, it doesn't define you etc. which I know of course but I think I worry that I will just cock it all up and end up putting it all back on. Lovely steak and chips at re pub last night Wink

Purpleraindeer · 20/03/2015 07:29

Boobz that's rubbish. You may find the NHS is quicker than the 2 wks. My brother had a mole looked at and it was a week between 1st appt and having it removed

I am starting max 30 on Monday. We're away at the weekend so I don't want to start today then miss 2 work outs. Might do speed 2.0 today as a 'treat'

Diets are frustrating sarah - more like an obstacle course rather than a marathon I find! I've been much less strict this week and I've found it hard not to just jump right back into the old ways. It seems I can either be really strict or eat like a pig. There is no middle ground

yumyumpoppycat · 20/03/2015 08:21

Fingers crossed they will be that quick in England Purple, hope your brother is ok.

Grin @ obstacle course!

Dp is really impressed I havent wimped out with T25 so he encouraged me to buy Hip Hop Abs and Pi Yo (SP?). I am going to mix them in with T25 instead of stretch or doubles etc. I nearly bought max 30 maybe I should have just got that, but tbh I might buy it when T25 is finished Blush I might as well have joined a gym at this rate....but then I wouldn't get to hang out with you guys on mumsnet and would have to wear clothes that look half decent ... ie non see through leggings Grin

I am having problems accessing the Max insanity work outs that were kindly shared on here by Full Steam so will probably just order it today and get it sorted for next week so I can start at the same time as you Purple!

I won't clog up this thread with my diagnosis woes, but if anyone is interested, it's here (pretty much one of the last posts on the thread as it's nearly full)

Boobz cancer chat

Sarahlouboo · 20/03/2015 18:29

Purple - exactly what I have found, I am either a v.greedy girl or very disciplined and no in-between.

Yumyum - I love being able to slum it at home and then run upstairs for a shower.

Boobz - I read your other thread, there is lots of good advice and support on there especially about avoiding Google (although my inclination would be to google it endlessly!).

What is this max that you are speaking about? Will have to look it up. Sounds hardcore.

Did JM ripped in 30 level 3 last night and (can't believe I am saying this about my beloved Jillian!) found it weirdly slow and didn't really get a sweat on. Did the tricep dips with ease which I could never do before Smile. Still made me ache, not a complete walk in the park but did alpha speed today for a good stretch and sweat. So glad it's Friday!

jemstipp · 20/03/2015 19:55

Big love Boobz xxxx

Purpleraindeer · 20/03/2015 21:44

Sarah that is exactly what I found with ripped level 3. 4 is harder and the strength moves were hard for me but I didn't really enjoy the workout as a whole. I just felt achy without feeling like I had worked up a sweat. I also found Jilian a bit negative - there was too much 'I'm going to break you!' I prefer Shaun t's encouragement!

Sarahlouboo · 21/03/2015 14:58

Yes I have moved back to T25 for now, will have to try JM again in the future but loving the cardio of T25. Did beta ript circuit for the first time today and really enjoyed it.

yumyumpoppycat · 21/03/2015 17:28

I haven't been able to persuade myself to persuade myself to try gillian yet, as I just remember ript in 30 feeling like a chore. I bought Davina's 15 minute workouts for about £4 just before I bought T25 and it has stayed in the wrapper, so I finally opened it last night and tried the Cardio workout after T25 upper focus, it was totally slow and I was hopping around waiting for the next exercise to start (to be fair though I did the modifier for the jumping lunges Blush as my knees didn't seem to want to try it). I will try the other workouts and then probably give it to the charity shop.

I might have an exercise-dvd-a-thon at some point and sort out the ones I want to keep. I probably have about 20 Blush Might be quite fun to do a different workout every day.

Hi guys, I've finished Beta!!! Will try and do pics tomorrow and post them. Found an interesting hybrid calendar for Gamma mixed with the best workouts from Alpha and Beta, might do that next.

Boobz, thinking of you, can't even imagine how frustrating it must be for you to sit and wait for the results, hopefully not too long now.

spookyskeleton · 21/03/2015 20:46

Sorry have been so busy! boobz sorry that you are still waiting for answers, hope things move quickly Smile

fullsteam could you pm me the link for that hybrid calender as I fancy doing a mix once I finish beta.

Have just finished week 2 of beta and my body isn't changing anywhere near as much as I hoped Sad I guess I really do need to sort my diet out! I am still enjoying it and have never not wanted to do the workouts, definitely prefer beta to alpha.

Fullsteamahead · 21/03/2015 21:18

Here it is spooky, thought I'll post it here in case anyone else wants to use it.

I've not seen much change in my body during beta either, I do feel much stronger though and am trying my best with clean eating now. I hope Gamma will produce better results for me

yumyumpoppycat · 22/03/2015 12:34

Fullsteam thanks that chart looks useful, mixing up alpha and beta would prob be a really good idea. I am trying clean eating am on this thread is www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/2320846-Just-eating-Good-Food-Paleo-ish-diets? be great to have some more peeps join us!

Spooky, it is a bit false advertising with the beachbody before and afters, I guess they cover themselves by including the eating plans. I do think the exercise does help me a bit with being motivated about eating and not undoing all the exercise, but it is slow progress. Dp thinks although I am still chunky I am now solid chunky rather than flobbley chunky (I think that was a compliment!!)

Did another double today {demented laugh mwah hah ha}

To be fair I had an unscheduled rest day yesterday ... did ript circuit then speed 2.0 (I struggled with speed 2.0 because hadn't had breakfast but felt like I had improved a little bit with ript circuit)

Have a lovely sunday everyone

jemstipp · 22/03/2015 16:56

Sunday's marvellous. No workouts lol

spookyskeleton · 22/03/2015 17:00

jem maybe for you but I was on catch up due to busyness lazinessin the week so Rip't circuit and stretches for me this morning!

I do like Rip't circuit, love the pace and moves of it.
