Anyone else starting a Beachbody workout programme? (T25, insanity etc)

yumyumpoppycat · 09/01/2015 16:16

Ok so my Focus T25 box has arrived today! Costs a lot but it has 11 25 minute work outs and some stretchy exercise band things. Idea is that because I have spent a lot I will have to knuckle down and see it through for the next 2 months.

I will probably try it over the weekend and start properly on mon. I am 3 stone overweight so this is going to be a mega challenge! Has anyone else recently started something similar or a new workout dvd and want to help motivate each other?

I am also on catch up but still having a rest day regardless as properly achey and feel that a day off will do me good. Well done to the more disciplined amongst youSmile! I really like ript. Looking forward to getting to grips with the other beta workouts next week.

Purpleraindeer · 22/03/2015 18:22

Spooky I love your dh's 'compliment'! Mine is the same. He said he loved my new 'thin face as it looks so gaunt'! Hmmmmm

Well done on the doubles.

I've had a lovely 2 days off and a week of relaxed eating. Yum. I sneaked a preview of cardio from max 30. Omg. It looked like the DVd had been speeded up!! Looked fun tho. I will go back on my diet when I start max 30 tomorrow so we're having a takeaway tonight.

Purpleraindeer · 22/03/2015 18:23

Boobz - I hope all is ok with you. I read your post on the other thread. What a horribly stressful time. Flowers

Fullsteamahead · 22/03/2015 22:14

Hi girls,

Spooky, thanks for the link to clean eating thread, will def have a look and try to steal some recipes :)

I've found another hybrid yesterday which gradually introduces Insanity to T25. I really fancy starting it tomorrow but am worried if I'll manage. What do you all think?

spookyskeleton · 23/03/2015 07:51

fullsteam what have you got to lose? Try it and see how it is, you might surprise yourself Smile The clean eating link wasn't me, my diet is anything but clean Blush

Right, new week starting with Core Cardio...my least favourite T25 workout along with TBC. Can't decide why i don't like it but it is only 25 minutes so I just need to suck it up and get it done Wink am having a manicure and pedicure done afterwards so that is my reward Grin

Happy Monday everyone

spookyskeleton · 23/03/2015 09:13

Bugger, have messed up and my beauty appointments are earlier than I thought so no time to do T25 this morning and am busy for the rest of the day and evening. Core cardio will have to wait till tomorrow or I might miss it out altogether this week

Purpleraindeer · 23/03/2015 11:46

Holy hell!!! Can't read back as too knackered but just wanted to post that I did the cardio work out from max 30. Urgh. Was brilliant! Maxed out at 29mins but think this might not be quite right as there were some exercises where I had to pause to see the demo so that's Prob cheating a little. Off to lie down now......

jemstipp · 23/03/2015 12:07

Week 3, month 2 insanity and I'm getting it tight ladies. Getting up twice in the night to feed a foster lamb for the last week is tiring but am busting through. It's like having a baby again lol.

yumyumpoppycat · 23/03/2015 19:58

Jems you really are hardcore Grin baby lambs awwww

Ar least manicure and pedicure has an immediate effect spooky...prob best to stick to the program and move on to the next routine tomorrow... nods wisely

Purple now I am even more wishing I got max 30.... my new dvds arrived today, I am ridiculously excited because Tania is on hip hop abs, there is even a poster of topless shaun, I might put it next to my pillow tonight Wink

Fullsteamahead · 23/03/2015 20:57

Yumyum, that made me laugh out loud! Are you planning to stroke the DVD too?

Purple, huge congrats!!! Well done on your first Max30!!!

Jem, you really are hardcore!!! I decided to go for it and did my first ever Insanity workout. Plyo cardio circuit was great fun, but I did seriously think I was going to die. I can safely say I barely managed it as opposed to nailed it! Lol. So Jem, I can only dream about doing month 2 and managing to look after lambs, no idea how you do it!!! Respect!

jemstipp · 23/03/2015 21:10

I don't feel hardcore let me tell you lol. It is hard but it gets easier though although not so easy that you think you've done nothing. Month 2 seems scary but it is manageable. More of arreputation so don't worry Smile The lamb is doing great too. I'd put up a pic but it won't let me put up jpeg files boo

Sarahlouboo · 24/03/2015 07:43

Well done everyone - I can't keep up with you! I did beta ript circuit again yesterday, really didn't want to exercise but glad I did.

Jacksterbear · 24/03/2015 08:37

Hey all. Been reading, and exercising, but not posting for a while as have not done much Shaun T recently. Been doing a mix of Ripped in 30, PiYo, and TurboFire (another beachbody workout by the same lady as PiYo - there is a bonus TF workout that comes with the PiYo set). Anyone done TF? I like the one workout and am thinking about buying the set.

Fullsteam wow that Insanity/T25 hybrid programme looks hardcore! Are you starting it?

poppy have you started HHA yet? What do you think?

Purple well done for getting going on Max 30. How does it compare?

jem, awesome work, keep going!

Boobz hope you are ok.

Re the chat about Ripped a few days back... stating the obvious a bit, but I find that upping the weights even by a small amount makes a huge difference to how hard I find the whole thing (not just the actual weighted moves, iyswim). So, for me, I could do it with 2kgs pretty easily, but 3kgs has me grunting, sweating and puffing. I realise those weights are not particularly hardcore, btw, but they are they are the right level to push me.

Interestingly, though, I find T25 Upper and Rip't not that challenging with 3kgs so think I need to up the weights a bit more for those! I think from the close-ups that they use 5lbs in Rip't and 8lbs (=3.6kgs) in Upper. So maybe I need 3.5s (which seems like a bit of a waste when I already have 3s! But probably the better option!) or 4s (which I think might kill me! Grin).

spooky hope you enjoyed your beauty treatments. Agree with you re TBC and beta core cardio. Mix of intense cardio and plank work in both = killer!

Jacksterbear · 24/03/2015 08:40

Ooh. Sarah - just realised it looked like I was ignoring you there - good work! Smile

Purpleraindeer · 24/03/2015 11:37

Well done fullsteam! Did you 'enjoy' it even tho it was hard? nice to mix it up with t25

Did tabata power this am. Was tough. We did those plyo (jumping) push ups. I surprised myself by managing to actually do one! Maxed out at 9mins tho as couldnt do any more. Thought of you poppy as Shaun t took his shirt off half way thru. It shows how hard I found it that I didn't even give him a second look!
Jacksster - I think the difference with t25 and max30 is how hard I push myself. The whole max out concepr means that I push harder for longer- I felt dizzy at the end of cardio yesterday. The actual moves are Prob a little bit harder but not much.

yumyumpoppycat · 24/03/2015 12:01

Sarah - that's always the best feeling when you finish a workout you nearly didn't do.

Jackster keep posting! I haven't tried hha yet as our hot water isnt working so havent been able to shower yest or today....gross! On the plus side I did enjoy his tightening your abs song Grin

Wrongmoreoftenthannot · 24/03/2015 14:00

I've just started T25 ad I'm trying to fit in in with my other exercise! Do you need to do the 5 days straight then 2 days off or do others just fit it in around the other things they do?!

Boobz · 24/03/2015 14:13

Sorry for radio silence.

Booked in for a private consult on Friday at the Wellington in London - hopefully this will get things sorted as still not diagnosis! Argh!

Have also been crazy busy with work recently, so what with that, and doing medical research/appointments (and drinking wine in the evenings to self medicate in case the end is nigh), I have only done a work out every 2 or 3 days since travelling to the US. AND my skinny jeans are now struggling to do up.

MUST DO BETTER! Starting today. Am going to do Max Interval Plyo AND Insane Abs, no excuses!

I get paid on Weds so will order Max Insanity 30 (maxing out at 29 minutes Purple! That sounds hardcore! and something for me to aim for!) and start when it arrives.

Am going to go for a long run on the w/e too and see if the 3.5 weeks of no smoking has improved my lungs!

Well done all - am reading all your progress

Sarahlouboo · 24/03/2015 20:15

Boobz, good luck with consultation on Friday, hope you get a speedy result. Don't blame you for missing the odd workout! Good luck with Max plyo and insane abs tomorrow. Well done on the not smoking!

Wrongmoreoften - I fit it in with whatever is going on and don't worry too much if my day off is mid week but there are other more committed Beachbody people on here who will hopefully answer you!

Jacksterbear - I agree, possibly needed to use heavier weights for JM to make it count more. Did upper focus tonight and felt the same. But generally have got used to a faster pace on T25 I think.

Hello everyone else and I am enjoying listening to the max chat...something to aspire towards!

I am struggling at the moment - feel really hungry (need to eat better food/more protein) and lacking motivation to exercise (although luckily DH is motivating me). I have been exercising regularly since August last year and I have a pattern of doing well and then lapsing. Determined to break that cycle and keep going this time but think I need to review what I am doing and make some adjustments so I can keep it up. Maybe need to give up on the idea of losing more weight at the moment and just work on maintaining/keeping up the routine.

Fullsteamahead · 24/03/2015 20:59

Hi everybody,

I'm soooooo sore today after my insanity plyo cardio yesterday. I even struggled to do my workout today and it was a straightforward Alpha cardio! My weak shoulder is killing me after all those push ups. Maybe I pushed myself a bit too much yestreday :(

I did love it though and am rather proud I managed an Insanity workout!

Boobz, Im keeping everything crossed for you here for a good outcome on Friday. Good luck and keep us updated xxx

Fullsteamahead · 24/03/2015 21:26

Finally managed to sort out my post Beta photos. I don't think there has been an awful lot of change except for my stomach maybe. I'm very pleased though as I feel much stronger and more toned :)

Boobz · 24/03/2015 22:21

Yes defo better stomach and I would say better ribcage and arms too (you need to get someone else to take the photo though!)

Purpleraindeer · 24/03/2015 22:36

Fullsteam - your abs look brilliant. There's a big change! You look more athletic all over. You must be super pleased. Well done.
I hear you on the muscle soreness. I'm feeling it tonight too. I had this when I started t25 too and it subsided after the first week. I'm going to take a rest day on Friday too to break the week up.
Boobz - I'm not surprised you're not working out quite as much. Give yourself a break. I hope the consultation on Friday is helpful.

Fullsteamahead · 24/03/2015 23:19

Thank you girls :) I know holding the ipad probably doesn't show my arms very well Boobz.

Insanity cardio Power and Resistance tomorrow. Writing it now so I HAVE to do it ;)

yumyumpoppycat · 25/03/2015 01:46

Boobz, the waiting must be torture, yet you have juggled exercised, work, and children all whilst giving up smoking - that is amazing. Flowers

Full stem you were really slim in the first picture but now you def look toned and yes athletic!

Sarah it would be a discipline in itself to eat healthily and maintain for a bit .. then when you feel ready or have an event coming up you can shift back into weight loss with a purpose Grin
