Anyone else starting a Beachbody workout programme? (T25, insanity etc)

Ok so my Focus T25 box has arrived today! Costs a lot but it has 11 25 minute work outs and some stretchy exercise band things. Idea is that because I have spent a lot I will have to knuckle down and see it through for the next 2 months.

I will probably try it over the weekend and start properly on mon. I am 3 stone overweight so this is going to be a mega challenge! Has anyone else recently started something similar or a new workout dvd and want to help motivate each other?

It does go by quickly, I mean but it is a strain on already limited time.

Boobz · 10/03/2015 09:10

Max cardio conditioning is only 48 mins or something, so I always do that works when I am pushed for time!

Purpleraindeer · 10/03/2015 11:40

Poppy I find the v sits hard too. I struggle to keep my legs straight. And i found the same with the bands - all the work outs are better with Dumbbells if you have them
Just did dynamic core and really struggled. I'm finding this week tiring so am awarding myself a rest day tomorrow before doing the final 2 work outs of beta. Seems better to have a rest tomorrow rather than struggle on and not do the work outs properly.

Boobz · 10/03/2015 11:41

Have been procrastinating! Writing it here so I do it now. Max Interval Sports Training and Cardio abs - GO GO GO.

Newrule · 10/03/2015 12:09

Do you not do insane abs with Max conditioning Boobz? Cardio abs less time at 16 mins but still together over 1hr.

jemstipp · 10/03/2015 12:21

So I did month 2 day 2. Did modify some of the push ups (not the squat ones though) and again was knackered in the last 10/15 seconds of some of the exercises but overall pretty happy. Onwards to cardio conditioning tomorrow and I didn't even sneak a peak Grin

Boobz · 10/03/2015 12:39

Tbh Newrule I did the Programme religously when I started last year, but after the 3rd or 4th time of doing Month 2, I now just mix and match depending on how much time I have and what I fancy that day. Also am traveling at the moment, and only have about 4 of the workouts downloaded to my iPad so have to do the ones on here!

Just finished the sports training, now about to do cardio abs.

Well done Jem - keep going! I like cardio conditioning the best I think!

Jacksterbear · 10/03/2015 16:31

Boobz I do the same re mix n matching - but between T25, JM stuff, Insanity, PiYo, and the occasional Tae Bo (cheesy 90s martial-arts style workout series).

jem and others doing month 2 Insanity - I'm in awe of you all. The month 1 workouts are enough for me at the moment. Did you feel like you had "nailed" month one by the time you can to the end of it, or was it still a struggle? At the moment I can't imagine feeling like I could nail an Insanity workout!

T25 beta core cardio done today (and JM's "no more trouble zones" yesterday, which has left me aching all over!).

Newrule · 10/03/2015 17:14

That makes sense and is a good idea. Maybe I do not need to fork out for Max 30. Mixing as time permits would work for me.

jemstipp · 10/03/2015 17:23

I get to the end of the exercises but not as fast as the majority of the guys in the background of shaun t. But that's ok, they are fitness feeaks and I do get a good sweat going. I also dont mind too much as I'd like to be able to maintain myself without going overboard. Grin

Sarahlouboo · 10/03/2015 17:48

Hello fitties! Did alpha abs today. Week 5 and I still hate it!

Someone asked about MFP - how do you link up then? I have never used it like that - you mean people can see what I eat Shock?!

spookyskeleton · 10/03/2015 18:46

Hey everyone

Did my first beta core cardio today. I found it OK in terms of the cardio work but I had to do most of the plank work at the end on my knees! One day, one day...

PesoPenguin · 10/03/2015 21:43

Hi everyone. I just started Insanity yesterday (skipped the fit test and went straight into plyometric cardio and then pure cardio today). I actually found today harder than yesterday and had to stop a few times but now I feel disappointed and like I 'cheated' does anyone else feel like this? Well done everyone you all seem to be doing great!

jemstipp · 11/03/2015 07:51

No stoping isn't cheating. Shaun t tells you to take a rest when you need to then get back to it Smile

Sarahlouboo · 11/03/2015 11:22

Stopping definitely not cheating unless you are stopping for a chocolate biscuit! Smile

jemstipp · 11/03/2015 11:59

Feck ya Boobz and your cardio conditioning lol. I'll tell you what Penguin, I was stopping today.....a lot lol. It's all good though Wink

Sarahlouboo · 11/03/2015 12:22

Beta core cardio done (DH didn't want to do TBC again). 'Twas hard! Just booked a summer holiday so that will hopefully motivate me to keep going thru the summer Smile

PesoPenguin · 11/03/2015 15:37

Thanks Smile I tell you what, I'm aching today! Still I think it's the cardio recovery today so hopefully that'll be a bit easier!

yumyumpoppycat · 11/03/2015 16:04

Peso you must have worked hard if still aching! Grin @ only cheating if stopping for a biscuit Sarahlou!

I also did core cardio, quite enjoyed it Shock I can't to the full sit up though (adds to growing list of moves unable to do!). was pleased as I got up a bit earlier this morning and had plenty of time to fit in the 25 mins and a wash and blow dry before school run ...(only a tiny bit late, no one had to be signed in, so it doesn't count..)

Hello everyone.

Full steam, thanks so much for suggesting the Vimeo thing. I tried the alpha TBC workout today and wasn't sure what to expect.

I followed the modifier steps as much as I could, but even then I didn't manage to do them all. My press ups are more of a press bobup, but I'm hoping that I will get stronger.

I didn't do any of the jumping moves, but can still feel it in my knees.

I tried the 15min shaun t workout with dr oz a few days ago and could also feel that in my knees, but more in my inner thighs. Sitting in the loo has been a mini workout.

I feel very unfit but really like that he reiterates how it's me against me, or something along those lines and that whatever I do will make a difference.

I,m going to lookout for a second hand set of the t25 program and will just try and follow the online videos until then. I think I saw one on preloved so might look I to getting that.

Thanks again for your help. I hope one day to be as fit and able as some of you are.

Xxx

spookyskeleton · 11/03/2015 19:35

OMG just done beta speed 2.0 - it is awesome!!!! Absolutely loved it, managed to keep up with most of it and love the format and music. Definitely my fave so far but cardio work is more my thing than strength work so not really surprising that I enjoyed it Grin

Fullsteamahead · 11/03/2015 20:36

Hi guys! I've been very naughty today, went to visit a friend and had spag bol and a coffee with maple pecan Danish!!! Shocking, overload of carbs and sugar in one day!

On the bright side I did a big walk this morning followed by Beta core cardio so don't feel too bad

Sarah, it was me talking about MFP. Feel free to add me, my username is alionaear

It's up to you if you let people see your food diary, you can choose to make it private or public in settings.

Boobz, you need to tell us all more about the Zone diet, I'm still a bit confused about it, in particular which products to count as carbs, which as protein if products have a mixture in. Or do you have to religiously follow the food tables? Also, do you use any cookbooks/websites for recipes?

Did you manage to get your BFP measured in London? ;)

Boobz · 11/03/2015 23:03

Sorry Fullsteam - I have been chasing my tail with work, family, travel etc all week. Didn't manage to work out today either - boo.

Promise I will answer what I can with Zone tomorrow when I am back at my desk properly (post work out, obvs!)

No didn't get measured. Am going to order the Skulpt thingy on the 25th March thought, instead of those scales...

Purpleraindeer · 12/03/2015 10:52

Am glad you liked speed 2.0 spooky. It's my favourite!
Well done re core cardio poppy. You did bloody well if it's only the sit ups which gave you trouble. Isn't core cardio the one with the horrible planks at the end and the hideous shuffle burpee things?
I did my last ever (for now anyway!) ript circuit and nailed it. Yes - even the press ups. Am pleased with that. DVd player cut out 3secs from the end but counted 3 secs more on the v sit hold and called 'time!' myself! Speed 2.0 tomorrow and then will post my before/after stats. Has been hard to keep focussed on diet this week. I think I need a week of slightly more relaxed eating before I get back to it next week
Fullsteam - your meal at your friends sounds great. The only pasta I allow myself these days is one off Dd's plate if she doesn't finish it!

Sarahlouboo · 12/03/2015 11:31

Ha ha, I did core cardio yesterday and I don't even remember any sit ups?! I must have been traumatised. I do remember hideous plank diagonals and shuffle burpees. Why are we doing this again?!

Back to the comparatively easy alpha lower focus today. Looking forward to starting beta properly next week Smile. I have kind of plateaued on the weight loss front but I have not been trying very hard and keep swapping between thinking I'll just maintain and then thinking I want to lose another half stone. I have been a bit giddy with an increased calorie allowance and reluctant to give it up especially as MFP is now telling me that I lose a lb a week I need to go down to just over 1000 calories a week! Wtf! Anyone else plateauing? Any tips?
