I can only add two miles again, my legs were still feeling like lead. However I did use my new trainers and they are amazing, so I feel like they are the start of something good!

This will be a good running week, it will, it will...

oh brilliant!

I'll be with the other strider and two of my siblings - one in a Witham running club top and someone who needs new t-shirts because all his are stained with nipple blood streaks

we should be easy to pick out of the crowd

glad new shoes feel better action

this does feel like the start of an awesome running week doesn't it!

It is Mel cinnamon. She's one of those loony multiple marathon runners I spend so much time with Grin

I'll add my 13.9 miles of running from Saturday and leave off the recovery walk. Gets us to 276.8

Off for another run this morning so will report back later

have been looking through photos of the scenic 7 for purple t-shirts but no luck scenic 7 pics I am which ever strider looks incredibly fast and attractive (actually most striders were organising and marshalling and ran the route after the event)

but at the time did see, am sure, someone with Brandon or Fen or hopping or something on it

Brandon fernhoppers :) they are all lovely but their training night didn't suit me so I joined Thetford AC. The clubs are quite closely linked and we are both involved in Brandon country parkrun. Thetford parkrun is another story, very controversial and has caused a lot of bad feelings and tensions but I won't go into that. I'll see if I can find out which fernhoppers were there :)

Is the hm the same start time on 29th?

I don't actually know - will look for email. One of us is doing the 20 miles, others the half although friend I paced yesterday hasn't entered yet and might do the 10k (but surely is buzzing after yesterday!) have assumed we all set off together

why does my club insist on a colour scheme that is so generic

wish we had stripes like the st edmunds pacers Envy or were orange like the Jaffas

The Thetford parkrunners t-shirts have been argued about to death I think.

where do thetford parkrun run? castle park? is not very big

although last time I was there I was amazed at how small the hill was! seemed huge when I was tiny and sliding down it in a stolen plastic bread crate

Report
cinnamongreyhound · 10/11/2014 09:53

No not castle park it is by the river, starts near the bridge opposite wilkinsons/Iceland and its two laps each of three different fields. Castle hill is huge, I'm too wussy to go up!!!

Not their t-shirts Blatherskite it's more club politics and probably a lot of personality clashes that have led to a lot of bad feeling.

Envy science, have laced up shoes and ready to go while sun is out

cinnamon when you are not pregnant you must try sliding down one of the slippery chalk routes if they are still there, on a tray Grin

used to be so many trees, did they fall in the hurricane?

4.6 to add from my first ever club cross country yesterday. Loved the whole thing - weather, course, being part of a team but especially how at least 8 of our club waited around and then ran the final bit with our oldest runner - a lovely lady of a mere 79 years :o (I was too knackered to join in that bit but was one of the cheerers-at-the-finishline :))

284.1

Would be very interested to hear about parkrun politics and what NOT to do when setting one up or, more positively, what to include to create a happy parkrun community.

I have Pm'd you feetheart as it's a bit long winded :) Your cross country sounds lovely!

Not a lot of trees around the actual hill now Mitchy1inge, even when not pregnant I will NOT be sliding down castle hill on anything Envy

am Quite Pissed Off with new running friend but maybe unfairly so, she bailed out at just over 2 miles after whingeing almost the whole way round even though we did exactly the same intervals as before and it was downhill or flat

we all have bad runs but I could have spent that time having a nice run by myself, now I don't think I have time Angry

will try again with her later in the week but how horrible would it be to say 'will run with you after half marathon but in meantime need to train by myself'?

feetheart find me on FB, I'll find you a load of EDs and RDs to ask...

And/or, ask to join a group called "New parkrun". It's mostly inaugural chasers but they know a fair amount on what makes a good parkrun and a good launch.
