HURRY UP RUNNING CLUB

I know if I run much before we will do something unspeakably horrible and hard which will aggravate my calf and or achilles, but if I don't run before I will either not make it to training at all due to some horse related problem this afternoon or - I don't know, that's the worst that could happen

Confused

never thought I would be a morning runner but feel strange when I haven't got it done already

Hill repeats from me today, waited until after lunch and was rewarded with a break in the rain!

So 8 from blathers and 2.8 from me takes it to 330.1 I think

3 treadmill miles to add from me (audiobooks help mitchy but the hardest part was making myself refrain from leaning over and punching the speed button on the adjacent treadmill because the guy next to me was running no, I really can't call it that at 7.5km/h. I finished on 11km/h!

Welcome and well done birdhouse. I went to the gym for two years before I ventured near a treadmill and didn't get past 5k for another year after that. Did my first HM a few weeks ago (only took me 14 years to build up to that one!)

I can't think in km but am pretty sure that is my fast walk (short legs) about a 15min mile? My trainer has problems too and asked me to walk on treadmill at moderate pace of 6mph. A long 'nah mate, that is running not walking' chat ensued and she did of course mean km. I was getting worried though!

3.75 to add, am so happy to be running with my proper running club again!

333.85 (?)

2.84 lovely miles from this evening: rain was cooling and wind provided lots of leaves and things floating about to look at. Ha I would never have imagined writing that 6 months ago! Could have kept going this evening but my stomach was rumbling Grin.

postman I don't even want to imagine how fast that is!

336.69

Those who can't imagine it 5k in 30mins is 10km/h so 7.5 is not quick at all. You were speedy though postmanpatscat.

4 miles to add from me, horrible day and didn't want to go but as usual sooooo glad I did!!! Lovely run and we got back before the rain :)

343.69

Welcome Birdhouse!

Did lots of strength stuff at the gym yesterday and my glutes hurt today Grin. I think this is a good thing. I should really be doing another rehab run tomorrow.

Mitchy and OhOne thanks for your posts Smile

That's really interesting about your rehab run/walk, Mitchy. I might do another four mins running two mins walking session and then try four mins running one min walking.

The last twice I've been out, it's been fine whilst I'm actually out, then a bit stiff later on (oo-er missus) but not actually painful.

Mitchy1nge · 11/11/2014 22:57

the odd thing is that have come back a bit faster

not masses but significant to me anyway, and it feels easier and as if I could really achieve some much better times but the calf and achilles is definitely aggravated by increase in pace, but is a very strange feeling to have to make myself slow down to what used to be about as fast as I could go (this still makes me slow by average running standards but whatevs)

Report
MirandaWest · 11/11/2014 22:57

I did 3.21 miles today in what was pretty quick for me. Still not sure about the distance due to ipod throwing its wobblers but plotted route on computer and I used my phone too so pretty sure that's what it was. And only just over 28 minutes as well :)

So 350.9

am so slow though

but we are SECOND and get points for each runner so it would help?

lovely piece about our race on Sunday in the EADT sniffle

Yes all points help! My club won the series last year. We have a couple of fast people but I think it was mostly great attendance. We beat conac after 20 something years which has amazing considering their size!

I pretty much exclusively run off road so should be fine but it's still a competition isn't it!
