Have not been a good runner recently - I blame it on exam paper marking (I mark them over Christmas and have been trying to get a head start while children still at school).

But DS, dd and I did park run this morning so 3.1 miles from me. Dd does not love park run but we kept going (did deliberate run and walk this time which worked better)

582.55

standingonlego · 20/12/2014 20:38

Catching up...a nearly 6 miler on Monday, plus park run plus the running to/from parkrun must round up to 10 miles so taking us to

592.55

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 20/12/2014 21:53

Another parkrun to add makes 595.65 Smile

OnTheThursdayOfChristmas · 20/12/2014 22:11

Oh Lordy, ive got a 9 mile cross country run in the morning with what they call 'natural water obstacles'.

Gloves and trail shoes compulsory. No jewellry or gadgets recommended.

I am afeared!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/12/2014 00:26

Thursday that sounds fun! Looking forward to your run report Smile

karatekimmi · 21/12/2014 06:08

A parkrun and a club run to add - 7 ish I think

599.55

That makes 46 parkruns in 12 different locations now. All the easy locations to me have been done now.

Anyone expecting anything running related from Santa? In not sure what my DH who is a rubbish present giver has got me. I've got him a notice board with all his PB's on!!

OnTheThursdayOfChristmas · 21/12/2014 07:10

Santa has got me one if those parkrun wristbands with my barcode on it kimmi
I'm rather looking forward to using it next week!

1.5 hrs spent on floor of DS room in the middle of the night not ideal preparation for this morning -typical

emummy · 21/12/2014 07:20

Typical indeed, Thursday! Good luck for today, hope there's a hot shower waiting for you afterwards!

FestiveChopinLizt · 21/12/2014 07:54

Have fun, Thursday. I've dropped hints about parkrun wristband-not sure if Santa was feigning lack of interest or just not listening.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/12/2014 10:17

kimmi Santa is bringing me new running gloves because DH was fed up of me "borrowing" his all the time

My other present is for my bike. How did this happen?

emummy · 21/12/2014 10:35

Nice 7 miles this morning, bit of a struggle in the head wind at some bits.
606.55
Santa is bringing me calf sleeves and socks, I think, plus I did drop heavy hints about massages - not sports ones!

cinnamongreyhound · 21/12/2014 10:44

Morning all! Good luck OnTheThursdayofChristmas!!!

No mince pie run for me Xmas Sad Dh has been struggling to breathe all night and we're now at ooh Dr. No way I'm letting him drive on his own let alone with the boys and typically they gave us a 10.30 apt and then run started at 9.30 and was 6 miles ish. Will have to take the dogs for a long walk! I've done it the last two years and there's always next year.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/12/2014 10:53

Hope DH is better soon and the doctor can give him something to ease his breathing cinnamon

emummy · 21/12/2014 11:01

Hope your dh feels better cinnamon
We're all eating an early lunch so we can get to Aberdeen for the 1pm Panto

actiongirl1978 · 21/12/2014 11:39

Oh cinnamon I hope your DH feels ok and that the ooh wasn't too hideous.

I got new trail shoes from my DH I chose them and bought them and used them in October!

Nine miles to add from me this morning, agreed it was a bit windy, I end up with a fleece headband on with my buff over my ears and tucked over my mouth, I must have looked quite a sight, especially to the car that came past as I climbed out of a hedge where I had been having a quick loo break!

615.55

HalleLouja · 21/12/2014 11:41

10 miles to add here 625.55 in total.

There was a very windy big hill. But I did it.

Mitchy1nge · 21/12/2014 11:52

hope DH is ok cinnamon sounds scary

am glad you lot are all keeping up the good work, think have gone off running Shock only did about nine and a half miles all week - am simply not feeling it

will withdraw from the county xc thing on 4th but have a ten mile race in January and another half in Feb which am still planning to do so maybe something will kick in soon

HalleLouja · 21/12/2014 12:37

How you know you are a runner?

When your Xmas list is mainly running items Xmas Blush

So its not just you Oh!

Cinnamon hopefully your DH is better soon.

Suzannewithaplan · 21/12/2014 12:57

?Who's gonna run on christmas day?
Isn't that the acid test ?Wink

feetheart · 21/12/2014 13:19

Does Boxing Day count?
DS and I are doing this

Need to work out when I last posted to add my miles but did parkrun yesterday and Santa run today - will add it later when I've checked if I added Monday's club run.

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 21/12/2014 13:32

Hi everyone. I've been AWOL for over a week due to horrible cold and recurrence of my back problem. No exercise at all for a whole seven days and two full days bed rest and I'm feeling more like myself again now! Grin
I have 3.5 miles to add to the total from this morning. It felt just fab being out running again after a week off.
I am now going to have a cuppa and catch up on a weeks worth of posts on this thread! Brew

New total is 629.

HalleLouja · 21/12/2014 13:50

Feet is it sold out? Am thinking of taking DS to do 1k or 2k. He would love it.

OnTheThursdayOfChristmas · 21/12/2014 15:28

I. Am. Broken.

OnTheThursdayOfChristmas · 21/12/2014 15:32

Adding 9miles of total fun/agony from today and a bog standard 4miles from friday brings us to 642

It was crazy fun - but so muddy, so hilly, so full of 'natural obstacles' that it took my friend and I 2hrs and 40mins to run 9miles!
Not called the Scrooge for nowt, and I did enjoy my free pint at the end Xmas Grin

Hope Mr Cinnamon is feeling better today x

feetheart · 21/12/2014 16:24

Halle - don't think so, think it is just the more the merrier so go for it.
Think DS did the 2k last year - 2 laps of the sports field in pursuit of Santa on a bike :)
He is doing the main race this time. Couldn't find a minimum age limit on it though he is the youngest on the list by far.

Best thing is that there are "no prizes for running fast" but the person with the best excuse (in advance) for why they ran badly does win a prize :o
